Hotel Eva

The staff were very helpful, and i loved the rooftop pool area with fab views out over Faro/sea. perfect for a short stay or if catching a flight out of faro early am as we were. also think the seaview side may well be worth the extra as we were looking out over the street.

the only downside is the planes flying overhead but it wasnt too bad and never heard them in the rooms

The hotel staff were REALLY unfriendly. We asked them to arrange a cab, they did try but said there were none available. No suggestions of what to do or how to get to the airport, even when we asked. THey just shrugged and turned their backs. A lot of other reviews mention this. it is TRUE. We eventually found a bus to the airport but got no help from the hotel. Not something you would expect for this price and for a supposedly BUSINESS hotel.

The View

The walls of the swimmimgs pool were covered with green slime !! Which came off when you rubbed it with your hand. So a brush everyday would have removed this

A nice comfortable hotel with a lovely location right on the Faro Marina. Nice breakfast included with a wonderful view across the Rio Formosa. Lots of good relaxing spaces with views around the hotel. Easy walk to the old and new cities of Faro. Nice room with good facilities. Good swimming pool on the roof - also with great views and inexpensive bar.

Staff not very friendly, but spot on besides!

The staff - the welcome at Reception, the smiling answers to any enquiries and the flexible, open-minded authority of the Head Receptionist. The efficiency of the hotel airconditioning, and the TV; also how when the hairdryer was reported not working it was fixed by evening. The bedroom and bathroom were always clean - the renewed clean sheets/towels during a stay was particularly appreciated.

I would have thought the bar set-up might be a little less bleak though the barman was very nice indeed. Breakfast was fine - liked the fruit

The hotel staff were fantastic, very obliging and very welcoming - nothing was too much hassle. The room was very clean and obviously just had some renovation work on it. The lobby was slick and modern. The roof-top pool had great views and a good bar. Very good stay.

I did not find it a problem but I guess some would not like the fact it is under a flight path

the charge for the room on the day of leaving was a little much i paid 55 euro from 12 noon to 7pm all i wanted was a shower befour leaving and somewere to leave the cases the room was not serviced that day befour we left and the air-con was turned off not good

Excellent location right in the middle of the town. Walking distance to sights and restaurants. 10 minutes by car to the airport. Very convenient to have the rooftop swimming pool, since Faro has no beach in town. Nice restaurant witha view, very good service and a decent menu. We had the double room with balcony, which had a picturesque view of the harbor and old town. Very clean bathroom of good standard. Well-functioning A/C.

A couple of the reception staff should probably practice smiling a little more, but they did provide all the services we needed to our satsifaction. The hotel calims to provide airport transfers, but they really only help you book a taxi, which also works well, though. (Note that taxis in Faro don't have any baby seats if you are travelling with small ones). The room is not very big, and the double bed is only 1.50 meters wide (so not a full double bed).
