The hotel was very centrally placed and all places of interest could easily be walked to. The metro, bus stops ,taxies and sight seeing tours all passed directly outside the hotel and the train station was only about half a mile away.Thoroughly recommend a trip to the Gulbenkian museum which can be walked to from this hotel, it has a very good buffet lunch and a wonderful garden to relax in. Also a short journey out on the train to Queles takes you to the Royal Palace which really should not be missed. Entry costs were reasonable and if you're over 65 were all half price. The hotel was very reasonable value for money but it would have been good to have more visitor information available not just to be referred to the information office in the centre The hotel had an extremely good evening buffet which was competitively priced but not advertised.

Relatively close to the city's sights and the airport. The open top bus tours leave from across the road. Good breakfast choices reasonably priced if room only booked. Slightly more organisation needed when storing bags in the luggage room. (our bags were misplaced on the day of departure.)

The location was good, opposite Edward vii park, near public trasnport and with a straight road into town. The hotel was very much like most city hotels - little that was particularly impressive but little to complain about. The reception staff, though efficient, were not very friendly. Having to queue for a table at breakfast during busy times was a bore.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and booked a business room, but the hotel upgraded us to a suite room with a good view of the Square, so we had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast is generous with warm food and lots of fruits etc to choose from. Although the windows are double glazed, you can still hear the noise of the traffic if you are in one of the rooms facing the main road.

We enjoyed out stay at the hotel, our room was an interior overlooking the garden which meant it was quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful. For anybody who likes a big breakfast, it was perfect, the only downside was you had to boil a small kettle to make tea! Location was good as the hop on- hop off tour bus and the underground is right beside it, which was useful to get into the centre as there is very few restaurants around.

This hotel has the most unfriendly staff I've ever seen. Be prepared to be treated as a sick dog. I'm not even talking about not smiling, but bad attitude towards the guests. Also, wifi does not work on several rooms, being restricted to the public areas.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rooms, the included breakfast and the overall location, etc. My only negative was with the front desk staff. I did not find them helpful at all, in fact I was made to feel like I was bothering them whenever I asked a question.

I liked the location, as it was near the bus tour stop, and easy to reach the city centre by public transport or walking. Also convenient for the airport. We found the reception staff to be generally efficient but not very friendly - they should be trained to smile at the customers who are , after all, keeping them in a job. A smile costs nothing, so why not do it? On one particular occasion, I was kept waiting at the desk while the receptionist completely ignored me and chatted with her male colleague.

Location and quality of the room. We were 4 couples traveling together- all experienced world travelers and we all found the front desk staff the leased helpful and very unfriendly. What ever happened to smiling and being helpful, isn't that their job?

We have stayed at this Hotel before and were very pleased but it seems our recent trip was not so good as there where lots of Holidaymakers and we normally go off season we booked a superior room but was given a much smaller room although they did move us to one a bit better, breakfast was hectic as they found it difficult to cope with the amount of people. they found it difficult to cope with the amount of people staying there,if we go back we will go off Season.

Central location We were initially allocated a room that was undergoing minor repairs (e.g. bathroom door was missing!) in error. The hotel staff were very apologetic however and gave us a room upgrade. The hotel itself is a bit dated and has a bit of a 1970s feel. Quality of breakfast could be a lot better.

“we take the aeroshuttle which is 3.50 euro from the airport and just 5 minutes walk to the hotel after the bus stop. Metro is across the street and 10 minutes walk to the big supermarket and department store when you turn right and walk all the way . Breakfast is good and people are friendly and the night shift gentleman Fenadal whom we met had given us a very detail direction to Oporto and Evora and also Sintra by train. Everything add up and made our trip very memorable” Beatrice, Richmond |
