Apartment spotless and cleaned regularly during our 11 night stay. Pool area also clean and tidy. Lots of sunbeds. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Excellent value for money. Quiet residential area. (See negs.) Pleasant 15 min. walk into the old town.

It's a residential area and there are lot of dogs nearby. We didn't mind too much but some might find the barking bothersome at times.

It is the place i would recomend to my friends and definetly will come back with family. The rooms are very clean and cleaning service is good. Everything family needs for a fantastic holiday were here. We are very thankful to Ana for warm welcome and appreciate the help from Ricardo who was very friendly and helpfull in all issues we had:) Guys, you are real professionals! Good luck!

Spotlessly clean, apartment had everything we needed, staff went out of their way to help, snacks by the pool were great, pool was big enough and plenty of deck chairs, room was cleaned regularly, good location if u don't mind walking 15 mins to beach or town -fantastic value for money!

The beds were a bit firm and pillows a bit flat (but this seems to be common in southern Europe)

Actually, it is a little bit away from the town. But we enjoy walking, so it doen't matter at all. The house is big, so it's more suitable for the family not for the couple like us. But we enjoy staying there!

This hotel is a very good choice for anyone who wants to have nice, clean and isolated place to stay in south of Portugal. It has all the nice things that hotels have and still you have your own isolated flat. Staff – very nice and you can feel they care about you not your money. Rooms – clean and with all equipment you need and you cannot take from home. Good value for money. Parking - no problem.

Bets are not very comfortable for people requiring high standards but it is good enough. There is a wifi in a hotel but room I stayed in signal strength was so low that I had to go to near pool place to use it. If you fix those things - can not suggest better place to stay in that area.

We spent 3 very enjoyable weeks at Giramar in October 2012.It fulfilled all our expectations.The apartment was roomy(there was only the 2 of us) and clean.The kitchen was more than adequate and our view from our upstairs apartment directly overlooking the pool was excellent.The staff (particularly Rita) were very friendly and helpful.There was always sunbeds available.The fact there are 2 balconies was very useful.It meant that if it was too hot on the poolside balcony at lunchtime you could use the back shaded balcony.It was also beneficial to have a safe in your room (30 Euros charge refundable at the end of your visit).We would certainly recommend it and will no doubt be back sometime in the future.

The location of Giramar is set within private houses/accommodation.The downside of that is many local people have dogs and they seem to enjoy barking a lot of the time. The pool was somewhat cold and perhaps the owner could consider heating it as it gets a little cooler later on in the season. From a personal prospective we found the beds somewhat hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. .

We loved the location of the appartments and the layout was great. Staff (especially Rita) were really helpful and informative which made all the difference.

One minor issue was that the beds were a little uncomfortable but this may be because we are used to a memory foam bed that is a lot firmer

The apartment was excellent, a steal at the price we paid! Spacious, clean, and had all the facilities you would ever need. Fantastic value for money, very nicely furnished, comfortable and modern. The hammock on the balcony was awesome, a lovely extra touch. Great service, very friendly and there was no problem with the late check in. Great communication with staff planning the late check in at 00.30, they were there waiting for us which was great after a late flight. Location is 15 minute walk to town/beaches but a gentle walk, we did it several times a day no problem. Would recommend to all!

Apartment wasn't cleaned and towels weren't changed during our four night stay. We did get clean towels from the reception after asking.

The appartments were of very high quality and fully equipped; tHE personnel were extremely friendly and helpful especially rita who was just perfect

I have stayed a the Girimar on a number of occasions over the last few years, the layout of the apartments, the access to WIFI and most importantly the friendliness of the staff are the reasons I keep returning -this is a seriously relaxing place to spend a few days and there are some super beaches and coves within easy walking distance.

Staff were very friendly and always helpful (I.E. booking taxi's for us, describing location and sites to explore etc) The apartments were very clean, with additional complimentary comforts such as handwash, shower mat in the bath, flowers on the table, a single hammock on the balcony etc. We had a beautiful view from the main bedroom and living area of the pool. The apartments are only a short taxi distance (25 min walking downhill) from the Marina/town centre. Plus there was always availability of a sun lounger (without having to wake up at silly hours to reserve 1). Overall, I would definately recommend this apartment, more so for a long weekend as opposed to a week/fortnight stay.

Although there was a pool table in the reception/bar area with music playing all day in the background I think they could improve their entertainment facilities, such as hot tub/jacuzzi, perhaps a spa area, couple more pool tables, dart board etc.

A very efficient and well managed apartments the staff very freindly. The apartment was exactly as described clean and spacious, also well equipped kitchen. Resonably short walk town.ultimaly excellent value and relaxing stay so would certainly return

Very few negatives I would be knit picking, towels suppid were too small, insure bar shuts quite early, there are bars within a short walk if needed. Was quite happy to buy own supplid as was a family break.

The two staff we dealt with Katia and Rita were always very pleasant and very helpful. Also the apartment was spacious and clean and had two balconies. We had some snacks by the bar i.e. things like omlettes, burger and chips and milk shakes for the boys and the food was of good quality and reasonably priced.

Our double bed I found to be lumpy and therefore not very comfortable.

There was a lot to like about Giramar, very clean spacious rooms with great self catering facilities such as a Fridge, cooking hobs, microwave and even a washing machine. The staff were very friendly who were always happy to help with anything we required. The pool bar menu was great for breakfasts and lunchtime snacks and we were never disappointed. They also do the best Cappuccinos in the world. It was very quiet round the pool most days, not sure if this was with it been mid September and slightly out of season but a good bonus as we often had the pool to ourselves. The location was also great for me, my girlfriend and our friends we travelled with (all early 30's). It was about 20 minutes walk to the beach and the same to the town, ideal if you like a little bit of walking to shift some of those extra calories gained during your holiday. Although the appartments were quiet the town was lively and there were plenty of different kinds of bars and resturants that would suit most needs.

I've just returned from an amazing 10 night mulit centre holiday in the Algarve. Whilst there, myself and my partner spent 6 nights at the lovely Giramar apartments. It was out first time in Lagos and can honestly say we loved everything about this place. The staff are friendly and so helpful - providing us with a map and tips on where to go for the best beaches. Like previous reviews the apartments are huge, two bedrooms with two balconies, one of ours overlooked the pool. The apartments were really quiet we when stayed (9-15 Sept) and on most occasions had the pool to ourselves. Location wise, it's in a really quiet area, there's a supermarket about 5 minutes down the road. It's a 15 minute walk into town (some of which up hill) but it wasn't an issue for us - in fact, my calves have never been so toned! We also hired a car and we never had a problem finding space to park. Overall, loved this place and would certainly go back again.
