Very well located hotel, close to the Metro direct to the airport and in commercial area. Good breakfast buffet. Quite noisy, hearing nearby rooms noises. Quite narrow double bed. |

The staff is just impeccable, rooms are small but very clean, very nice dinner room. I wanted a nice hotel in the middle of the city so was quite pleased with this one The building itself is very old (its an historic hotel in the middle of an historic city) so sometimes the floor squeaks and there are funny smells in the corridor, like old smell (cant really describe it but it didn't bother me much) . for those of you out there that want a modern and architecturally appealing hotel this might not be for u, if u want a luxurious old building then its ok |

The hotel has an excellent central position and downstairs a lovely old world character. The breakfasts were good and the bathroom was excellent. The receptionists were not welcoming enough. Because I was cheery they became more helpful but they should be more open. The decor was rather drab. |

Fantastic location on one of the main shopping streets in Porto, close to the Bolhao metro station, and easy distance to the Funicular down to the river. Clean and evidently historic hotel. Hotel was typical of an aged central city hotel. Though it was clean, the room I stayed in was very small and showed signs of age. Bathroom was fairly new though and very good standard. |

I liked the grandness of the room and then a few of the staff at the front. They were helpful in planning the days. The bathrooms were very clean and then linens were nice (i suggest you change the dark bedspreads and make them white, black is too heavy and does not look good with brown). The breakfast is amazing and one of the best things you offer. I looked forward to it in the morning. |

Very well located on walking distance of the main monuments. Large nice room. Nice lounges with deep leader seats. Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly. Public parking at 300m for 11 euro/day. Rooms not 100% clean. They charge 5 euro/hour or 20 euro/day for wireless internet access, which is in nowadays not really acceptable for this kind of hotel. |

It was quiet and very laid-back. The foyer and public areas are very grand. It was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable, i.e. not soft. The shower was utterly hopeless - hot or cold, but nothing in the middle! |

The Central position was good The standard of decor was poor even in the 'De Luxe' room I ordered. No tea & Coffee facilities in the room, very plain decoration ( Brown/White minimalist aproach). Rooms do not fit with the ornate style of the common space which is preferable. Bar area was ok although poorly staffed and with no 'atmosphere', music might have helped. |

The staff made the difference since the first hours in the morning. I felt like at home, reception staff was always standing behind the desk and ready to help, they were adjusting their uniform anytime a guest was approaching the reception area (I really appreciated that ). The breakfast was excellent and various and food baskets were constantly filled up; I never saw something missing from the table. Many 5 star hotels should learn what a good service is from the Grand Hotel do Porto! I was generously given a suite by the reception manager on arrival, the room was nice, clean and quite large; the hotel is “old style” and very charming. I will definitely stay here again in future. Thank you! The tv signal was not perfect for each and every channel but for me it's not a big deal. I watch tv maybe 5 times a year! The rest was perfectly fine and we had good restaurant recommendations during our 2 nights stay. |

As the first hotel to open in Porto, the hotel is steeped in history. Being located in the main shopping area of Porto. |
