Smaller room. Noise
- excellent location near metro (Bolhao), directly in the city center - good breakfast offer - clean bathroom and room - hair dryer in the bathroom
The rooms are quite small and to be honest I don't think the price per night is adequate, there is nothing special about the hotel except from its good location. But I would still recommend it, there were no problems.
The customer service could use some improvement on providing cordial service to their guests. Each time I was greeted with a sad or stern face when saying, 'Bom Dia' or 'Boa Tarde'. A reciprocating smile would have been nice. The front desk provided absolutely no suggestions on activities in the wonderful town of Porto. Thank goodness the 'I' gave us great suggestions. Despite the historical significance and beauty of the building, I will not stay here again. Also, the heating was sub-par. It took days to warm up the room. I got a bad cold/cough after my first night. And please speak to your night gentleman at the front desk. He proceeded to reprimand me because I made a mistake a didn't add a 0 to my room number. He got upset with me and told me I owed the hotel money. I knew that and told him I misunderstood. He could have checked the card I was given, which clearly stated my name, room number, and check-in dates. That's all I can think of for now. Thank you for reading my comments.
location good - just in the city center, main shopping street
quite small room
Staff so very courteous and helpful. Elegant decor well maintained. Splendid dining room. Excellent service. Treated as valued guests.
very small points which in no way spoilt our huge enjoyment of this hotel. No kettle etc in bedroom. Dinner is nouvelle cuisine - no indication of this as buffet breakfasts are generously provided.
The old fashioned elegance of the reception and dining rooms, charming.
Whilst the bathroom was adequate the chipped bath was poor. The lighting in the reception rooms was inadequate for reading.
Central location, very convenient to walk to most of the tourist attractions. Good breakfast. Very kind staff at the reception. Dated hotel but clean rooms, good shower. Good heating even in the middle of Dec when Porto was rather cold.
The beds. These were so awful that it made us regret this booking although the breakfast and the location was great. The beds are really hard. It gave my partner and me a pretty bad nights sleep and a back ache.
Excellent location... Right at the heart of the city. You can go see the sightseeings on foot.
Gostei de tudo! do atendimento, do quarto, da decoração em geral e da sala de jantar, que é magnífica! A very nice hotel, on the best street of Porto, near the cafés and main atractions. The decoration is very cozy and british, and very french in the superb dining room.Loved everything
Front desk staff. Grand lounge. Breakfast.
Beds are too low.
the hotel is very nice
the room was small and the bed was not very conforable
nice staff , central , near to Bolhao ( metro + market ), confort ,value for money
The location, friendly staff, the overall decoration, everything...
The staff and the beds.
Perfect location, comfortable, good breakfast, helpful staff. Close to metro and Sao Bento train station. 3 min walking from Coliseu do Porto, so if you come to Porto for a gig at this venue, go on and book this hotel.
The central situation - it may be noisy in high season but in October it was attractively lively. The décor - 1920s but fresh, with high ceilings, comfortable sofas and a lovely dining room. Breakfast, buffet lunch and helpful staff.
Nothing. The bedroom was not huge but it had everything. Bathroom was big and all airy.
I liked this hotel for its location, cleanliness, decor and plentiful breakfast.
Excellent Airport with great metro link to within 5 mins walk of the Hotel. River trips good to see the City looking up. Take the old tram down to Foz. Visit S.Benito Station to see the wonderfull ceramic tiles depicting past Porto scenes.
Nothing.Everything for us went well.
The food was v good, b'fast had a varied choice + dinner one evening...not expensive and the wine prices for a hotel were amazingly low...cocktails in the bar were good
its not so much as didn't like but rooms are small, however the linen was clean and always hot water to shower, room to hang clothes up + safe for valuables
- Classical setting of the hotel. - rooms were simple but clean.
Rooms were too modern. ten minutes walk to main tourist spots, was expecting it to be more centrally located.
- The hotel has an old style absolutely fantastic -Location can't be better - Large room
