Charming hotel with a very nice staff. It is in the center of the city, 10 minutes from a main metro station. Our room was on the street side and was quite noisy. |

The location is good, very near to the Torre dos Clerigos. The buffet breakfast is acceptable. The lighting in our room was very dull so after dark the room felt dingy. |

This hotel alone is a historical site. The staff were wonderful! The breakfast buffet is very tasty and plentiful. The location is spot on. It's basically the center of town, metro stops in every location, port is only about a 10 minute walk and beach was about a 20 minute bus ride. My son, 14 months, was with me and the hotel staff were very accomiddating to all his needs. I would reccomend paying the night before you leave. Our flight left early and we were checking out at 5am, the older staff member was having trouble with the credit card machine, it took valuable time. Pay the night before, the staff members are more confident adn the machine works well. |

I really enjoyed the Hotel, it is in a really good central location...right by Praca de Liberdade, and also has an excellent curry house opposite! It also has a lovely garden which was a surprise and really made the stay. |

The pleasant old world elegance fits well with Porto's somewhat shabby ambience. This is not a bland, packaged anonymous hotel, but one with real character. The room was fine, but rather lacking in sound-proofing. |

The staff were so friendly and proud of their city, the breakfast excellent and the location perfect for first timers to Porrto. We particularly liked the decor and furnishings in this hotel, it took a while to reach our room because of so many historic and interesting things to look at! |

one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in.Not the run of the mill lay out and beautifully decorated . The old bits and bobs around the hotel also made the whole place interesting. I mentioned to my partner during our stay that someone with great taste had decorated and laid out the hotel. A good internet work station in the hotel would be a great addition. It's too hilly from the metro!! |

Marvellows romantic hotel with history and aristocratic ambiance - dates back to the 1888. Lovey design of these old times has preserved unchanged. Visit the hotel web-site to learn more about it. Just in the very heart of Portu. Friendliest personnel with archaic manners as if witnessed the grandest times of the city prosperity century ago. Breakfast is great. Quiet rooms. If you want a piece of luxary choose superior room. No air conditioner in the standard room. We could hardly sleep a wink with the open window as gulls were howling all night through. The nearest Parking is 17! euros per day. Choose another one, but don't much rely on parking in the streets. Mind that Portu is very hilly to roll your suit-cases up and down. So try to park as close to the hotel as posiible. |

We were pleased with our room. The breakfast room was lovely as were the public areas. A very comprehensive breakfast with fresh fried eggs with bacon some days and frankfurter sausage on others. Plus an extensive range of continental options cakes, fresh fruit salad, churro type fritters, rice etc. There is an option to sit outside on a terrace by a small pretty garden with a nornamental pond. The location is excellent very close to Placa Liberdade and all the main places of interest. |

The hotel has a lovely interior with highly polished wooden floors, attractive top floor landing, and stairways. There is also an attractive breakfast room with adjoinig garden. The staff were excellent and there were good facilities for leaving luggage. Location is excellent - central and close to the Metro and transport services. The shower room was very small and basic - quite difficult to manouvre into it. No air conditioning - not important this time but possibly in hot weather. The price was a little on the high side for a 2 star hotel - although I would probably use again given the central locationhigh and general standard. |

Nothing, it was the worst place we stayed at in Portugal. Yes everything. The room 'view' was to the slums, the room was tiny, we could barely get into the shower doors and we're not big people, the staff was unfriendly, the breakfast left a lot to be desired, and they turned off the lights of the room at breakfast at 10:00 to let everyone know to leave. Just completely rude. |

The double room was very, very, very little. The "double" bed was very narrow and short. Same applies to bathroom. I think we were given a single "staff" room instead of the ordered double room... |
