Location is very quiet and beautiful views from the hotel. Pool and terrace are lovely. Honesty bar was very welcome. Staff very pleasant and good food
Room was utilitarian and noisy when other guests closed doors or passed by
very welcoming staff.we liked that we could have dinner in herdade da corte without having made a dinner reservation.the meal was very good and excellent wine accompanied it.the room was very pleasant with tasteful decoration .breakfast was nice, but I would have liked to have it on the terrasse instead of inside as it was a beautiful day.a very nice place to relax .
A perfect rural setting to relax by the pool or on the wide verandah looking out onto the surrounding hills. Very friendly hosts full of useful tips for our trip. Lovely breakfast & unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open on Monday but this would have been a great option for dinner.
We stayed here for only two nights but wished we had stayed longer. From the moment we arrived the peace and quiet was idyllic. Food in the evening was excellent and gave a choice of menu. Breakfast was the usual fruit juices, cereal, bread, cooked meats, cheese and fruit. The owners were knowledgeable and gave some good ideas on the local map of where to visit. I would highly recommend a stay here and wish them all the luck in making it a future success in 2015. If you are not extremely fit though I would recommend staying in the main building and not in one of the remote villa rooms as the walk is around 20 mins.
Fish from the oven. Comfortable feeling of open space. Very quiet, great sleep.
Big comfortable room, use of fridge. All very good. Great pool, very enjoyable 5 nights
Poor Wi Fi.
Very good restaurant, nice staff, great pool.
Great location, ideal to stay off the beaten track. Very friendly and helpful staff, cute place (old hunting house) in the algarve inland, very quiet and remote from tourist crowds but still within 10min reach by car from nice town of Tavira.
No negative points, just keep in mind that you will need a car to reach the place, it is about 10km from Tavira, and GPS system might not find it (keep an eye open for sign posts then it is no problem)
Friendly welcome and always willing to help. Peaceful location, excellent pool, very relaxed atmosphere.
Ensuite bathroom could be arranged better as it was quite narrow.
Friendly staff, great food and wine and great outdoor space make this hotel well worth a visit. The honesty bar says it all. The old Roman town of Tavira is a 5 minute drive, as are the lovely beaches recommended by the hotel staff. Recommended for those who
Having to leave after just 2 nights.
We stayed here August 2014 with our 4 year old son. We very much liked the pool area, terrace and the rooms by the pool. It has wonderful views of the hills and is very secluded and peaceful. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was decent but it would have been nice to have more tables outside to enjoy the lovely views. It was a 20 minute drive to Tavira or nearby beaches (which are all lovely!) We ate here one evening and the food was good but it didn't have the bustling atmosphere of the local restaurant in Prego.
The rooms in the annexe were spacious (a little sparse for me) but it is not realistic to walk to the main hotel from here which makes it rather isolated. We read other reviews and thought perhaps the distance was being exaggerated but it really isn't, especially when you consider the steep hill! After 2 nights we swapped rooms to the main pool area which suited us much better, from here you can enjoy the hotel facilities without needing to get in your car to go to your room.
Lovely salt water pool, helpful staff, lovely view, great for a little peace and quiet, very clean. If you have not hired a car the hotel will be happy to order a taxi for you.
It is in a rural location so nothing within walking distance so a car is recommended. Restaurant in the hotel is nice but has a limited menu choice.
Not a lot at all.
No flexibility - we checked out early, no provision for any breakfast until 8.30 am. Insufficient loungers at the pool - a total of 6 in all, and very little shade unless you moved around a fixed umbrella of which there were 3 only, and of course if you were lucky enough to have a lounger, No provision for lunch although a sandwich was made for us when requested, and bearing in mind you are a long way from restaurants and the coast. If you have one of the "superior rooms" these are at least a 1 km drive to the pool and restaurant - not good if you had children, Towels were not changed every day unless asked. Breakfast - not replenished frequently enough, and we had to ask for plates, fruit etc every morning. All in all disappointing from all the previous reviews.
The concept Quiet area Staff so available Quality of the breakfast Swimming pool
Peacefullness tranquility staff beautiful location
- very quiet and peaceful area - you receive a lot of information - nice breakfast with fresh orange juice! - honesty bar with beer, soft drinks, wine, chips
- distance junior suites to the main building is further than 600 metres and only possible by car - it is advisable to mention this at the website together with the information on the junior suites so that people know in advance - spending an afternoon/day by the pool means that you have to organize things to avoid several car trips from/to the junior suite - more people could have had breakfast in the shade if it was served at the diner area (which is also near the buffet) - they offer breakfast and dinner but any snacks or ice cream which means you have to take the car for a 20 minute drive to find something small to eat - free wifi available but very limited - if you ask for a double room, it is nice for a couple to have a double bed instead of 2 separte beds - there is only some shared terrace space available and no private terrace and people sometimes want to know that in advance
Relaxing and away from the crowds but yet near enough to Tavira and surrounding beaches and restaurants. Motorway connection is only 5 minutes drive and Tavira is only another 5 minutes in the car. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will repeat visit in the autumn.
Miss the pool and relaxing atmosphere.
Fantastic breakfast, unbeatable views and tremendous staff! What a great spot for relaxation.
The peaceful location in the nature -"true" Portugal countryside, huge and comfortable bed and a spotless cleanliness of the room and bathroom, homely atmosphere thanks to the stuff, only 12km to Tavira which offers planty of restaurants, "honesty bar".
Food selection for breakfast could be extended by eggs dishes on request.
staff, cleaniness, decent rooms
breakfast could be much better; they close the reception quite early, so no access to the bar and wifi after 10 or so.
Lovely pool and quiet location. Convenient for day trips to coast. Fantastic breakfast with fresh juice and local breads.
Very hard uncomfortable sun-beds! (And the bed in the room was a bit hard too.) No private balcony or patio (but plenty of communal outside space).
the place is peaceful, the junior suites are new, big and nicely decorated, the staff was very friendly and gave us good tips
the junior suites were far away from the main building, so you need to drive your car 5 minutes for going to the breakfast, pool and common area. The common area was closed at night, so you can't have a drink or check e-mails. However, the place is nice and I would repeat, no doubt before a mass tourism hotel in Tavira. Maybe I would take the rooms at the main building
Rooms are clean. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was good but not excelent. Wifi outside the reception area not available.
Great place, authentic, quiet, excellent breakfast with freshly baked bread, cakes, local products. Wonderful tastes and aromatic smells of Portugal. Don't look any further if this is what you expect. Pity we couldn't stay over for the jazz night. We'll be back!
Friendly staff who went the extra mile.
