Location perfect for us to wander down to river.
we took the larger room so our bathroom was large enough. location is ideal, overlooking a large boulevard and close to restaurants. needs a good renovation but still has old glamour.
wi-fi only in public areas. needs renovation. parking is a block away. very basic breakfast.
Location was good.
The office was upstairs.Had to lug the luggage one flight of stairs. Too many restrictions counted off at check in. Room was super small. EARLY CHECK IN NOT ALLOWED DESPITE AN EARLIER REQUEST. Beds were apart.
It's a fair value for money
The hotel is outdated . The room is small and the bed is very uncomfortable. There isn't wifi reception in the room. The breakfast is very simple
Really nice room with street view. Location was great.
Breakfast was very poor.
nice authentic hotel in the centre of Porto, very luxury bathroom for the price and nice breakfast. When we return to Porto, we definitely will stay again in this hotel.
Reasonable price, convenient location. Requested a room on the top floor, it was very quiet with a fantastic view. Concierge was helpful with directions, etc.
Bathroom was a bit tight; had to almost sit sideways on the toilet... but really can't complain too much as the price was so reasonable.
Perfect location, clean, comfort hotel with friendly staff
There are the stairs between hotel entrance and elevator - people with physical limitations or very heavy luggage have to take in consideration
Restaurant was very nice and the staff were excellent.
Access to the building.
Within walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. The afternoon receptionist is very nice and helpful. Breakfast was plenty.
Our room was facing the main street, so we could hear cars and people.
Central location, within easy walking distance of the hop-on-hop-off busses, metro, railway station and taxis. Good bedroom and bathroom facilities (we had a suite with an extra room, very handy for packing and unpacking luggage!). Free breakfast with a somewhat limited choice. Is situated above one of the "classic" (Art Deco) restaurants of Porto with a good menu.
The hotel reception is on the second floor of the building,. So even though they have a lift from the first floor up, one still has to climb a flight of stairs (with luggage!) to the lift. There is also a fairly high step up from the bedroom to the bathroom which is a bit difficult for the less mobile particularly in the middle of the night!
Staff were very good. Room very clean Great showers. Nice furniture in room Comfortable hotel lounge area.
Mattress was hard and needed a soft mattress topper. Rubber sheet under bottom sheet hot to sleep on.
The location is great, right in the centre of Porto near Metro station and attractions. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We needed to change rooms and this was done efficiently with minimal disruption to our holiday. The shower was modern with excellent fittings an lovely hot water.
Unfortunately the beds are hard and very uncomfortable as were our pillows. The breakfast was very limited in selection and the same every day, no variation. The breakfast room seemed small for the size of hotel although we did always get a table.
Loved the Portuguese 'atmosphere'
There was a slight sewer smell in the bathroom
The situation, the staff and the view of the square from our room. The breakfast was ample.
Nothing much. It was a hot day and there were stairs to climb
Great location. Classy restaurant downstairs. Friendly staff.
Needed a new wifi password every 12 hours. Washing in room strictly prohibited but they didn't know where the nearest laundromat was. It was just around the corner which they should have known. Breakfast choices a bit limited.
Fantastic location, clean rooms, old world charm
The prices have more than doubled since the last time we stayed at this hotel. Our room was quite small to accommodate three people. The beds were very uncomfortable and the shower only had cold water. Breakfast was also disappointing.
Location was good. Rooms were clean. Had lots of charm. Restaurant Guarany was great.
Breakfast was skimpy. Must climb stairs everyday to go out and come back. There was no place to unload and no help with the luggage.
Excellently situated hotel, providing good value for money right bang in the centre of the city
Any oldies with heavy baggage might find access up to reception a bit of a struggle
Location and cleanliness of the rooms
Size of room- including bathroom. Too small
Hotel is not easy to access with a car to register and unload. Had to carry luggage up the stairs Will never stay there again
location of hotel very central
lots of traffic late at night and early morning bus's passing very early as hotel is on intersection
Old worlde lovely hotel very conveniently located in Central Porto
The hotel is very well located and is in a grand old building. It is tantalisingly close to some truly good hotels.
Renovations have obviously been done on a miserable budget and there seemed to be only one permanent staff member. Suitcases must be carted up one flight of stairs to the lift via a nondescript side entrance. The former grand entrance is now a separate restaurant. Overall this place is run like, and has the facilities of, a very ordinary boarding house.
