Room was fine, good breakfast, nice rooftop restaurant with great views
Air con a bit noisy, but then it usually is!
Lovely roof terrace for eating breakfast with views over the sea. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very convenient location. Large room with big comfortable bed and very dark curtains.
It's a modern hotel and so doesn't have a lot of character but I would definitely recommend it. Also booking stated that we would have a balcony. However our room did not have a balcony.
In the centre of Faro , quiert room, delicius breakfast
Very central. Terrace for breakfast. Very helpful with the car hire.
Shares the lobby with a bank! Doesn't seem to have a pool.
Near airport for flight home. Quaint old town and modern shops on doorstep. Friendly but professional
Good breakfast-buffé. Well placed in the city-center.
Room standard far below price. Very disturbing noise from activities in streets and city-surroundings. Irritatingly difficult staircase to conquer at the hotel entrance when having heavy traveling luggage. No attention or interest from reception-desk to help.
The staff excellent and couldn't be more helpful The restaurant the food fantastic lunch dinner and breakfast. The assistant manager excellent along with the gentleman that came to our rescue at 3.15am in the morning. Xxxxx 5 star staff
The two leaky bedrooms. One room window leaked. The second the ceiling leaked. Third the restaurant windows leaked. Unfortunate weather. But we got soaked whilst asleep in bed.
Good location, lovely rooftop restaurant, pleasant staff.
Not a bad hotel by any means but Hotel Eva opposite, also 4 stars, is better - more spacious rooms, rooftop pool. Both suffer from street noise from late night revellers.
Location to the bus and train
I did ask at reception for train times. And was told where the station was to ask there. Not Good. I work at a Hotel and its easy to get timetable.
The room was nice...breakfast was good... Receptions very nice...
The access was not easy all those steps with cases.... Room was very warm... A sheet would have been enough... Some of the staff for breakfast ... No eye contact when you go to breakfast... Or did not speak... All food needed replenishing... And the orange juice... They all need to look around more.... Regards Sylvie
ideal location superb staff flexible with check in/out times free wifi
We liked the proximity to the harbour and the old town.
Free wi-fi in the rooms would have been good.
food good service and staff good
no public wifi access wine in the restaurant very poor lack of toilets in public areas
Location was excellent, the town is really small anyway. The dinner on the roof wasn't that bad as well.
AC shuts when you leave the room, which makes it hot for a while when you want to sleep.
The food was very good but the lunch menu was the same as dinner .The shops are at the back of the hotels mixture of new and old .
There wasn't any lounge area to relax in or read you had no option but to go to the bedroom. The bar was in the dining room so no atmosphere for chatting the hotel is crying out for a swimming pool as it is so far .from the beach and forget the marina it has nothing to offer .The staff didn't offer any suggestions as to shops nearby in fact sent us to centre miles away when shops were at back of hotel .
Excellent central location, lovely breakfast, comfortable bed, very friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to make bookings for excursions for us
Nice hotel good location , comfortable rooms, helpful staff and excellent restaurant
Could not have a window open as little noisy from the street
Its all good
The noise below our room
The marina was directly opposite the hotel and the shops and bars were easily accessible . I took a boat tour which was 3 hrs long and very interesting. It was mid summer when I went but it was very quiet and relaxed. Not noisy at all and few tourists which surprised me. Faro old town is an undiscovered pleasure and is only a 7 minute taxi ride from the airport. It was a perfect destination for a solo traveller like myself with nice cafés bars and shops to browse. I would recommend the Hotel Faro to anyone. The restaurant on the top floor served amazing food. I had lobster and steak which was delicious. The staff were very attentive but not too intrusive
Stayed in family room with interconnecting doors, sofa and tv area, very good space. However, there are several types of family rooms and on our second stay we did not get the extra space. The second stay was much like a double and a twin only with interconnecting doors. Rooms 117 and 116 are the biggest rooms. Loved the terrace for breakfast and sunset. Faro hotel is located in a very picturesque part of the town, easy access to shops and castle area.
Location and breakfast
No balcony No pool Noise from bathrooms from other rooms No tea/coffee making in rooms
the staff were lovely and very helpfull ,really very welcoming, they organised flowers for me to be sent to france at last miniute for family funeral, we have been to faro befor but in winter so it was a great suprise to find so many things to do with a nine year old boy, will be booking again same time next year for big family get together, had the best three days of my summer holidays at hotel faro and boy im i fussy so yes people go its fab,.
not being able to stay longer.
Good venue near to the old town & looking over Marina. Helpful receptionist staff. Daily servicing of room, clean, cool comfortable, & safe. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Good hotel if you want anonymity.
Waiters very formal, polite & often looked bored. Although one young man actually smiled on my last day! I chose to eat elsewhere in the evening for more local colour & a little friendliness. Generally Faro does not cater well for single people.
The reception and the cleaning room
The hygien in the restuarant especial on the floor under the tables where sometime a little durty off left footrest. no good cleaning.
