The perfect holiday location. 45 minutes from Faro airport, the Hotel Garbe commands a prime position with stunning panoramic views over the bay of the Algarvean village of Armacao de Pera.

The hotel is ideally located for a peaceful holiday, yet lies within strolling distance of shops, restaurants and entertainment. It is also an excellent base from which to explore the Algarve, with regular bus services to nearby towns and villages.

Hotel information

From almost every angle guests enjoy breathtaking ocean views of the sparkling Atlantic. Direct access from the hotel leads straight to the magnificent sandy beach, one of the longest in the Algarve. Here, local fishermen can still be seen mending their nets and selling their catch to the local market.

Food & beverage

Both restaurants boast fabulous sea views. Enjoy international and Portuguese cuisine at the Por do Sol or choose from the extensive menu at the Raj at Garbe - the best Indian restaurant in town. The Por do Sol is open every day from 08:00 to 10:30 for breakfast and from 13:00 to 14:00 for lunch. Dinner is served from 19:00 to 21:30. Please note that the Raj Indian Restaurant is closed on Mondays and open every other day from 18:30 to 23:00. Afternoon tea and biscuits are included in the room rate for all guests staying between 1 November 2008 and 31 March 2009.

Area information

Not long ago, Armacao de Pera was a small fishing village.

In the summer months the town is busy with tourists, but for the rest of the year it is a peaceful holiday location.

The tourist popularity is due to one of the finest and largest sand beaches at the Algarve.

In the old village are a number of fish restaurants serving excellent fresh fish and seafood.

Super location on beach. wonderful views

Very Dated,in need of modernisation.seems to cater for elderly guest.This is reflected in choice of menus and evening entertainment

The location was fantastic right on the beach. The sun terrace and pool were great with a choice of taking breakfast on the terrace or in the restaurant. Good variety of breakfast choice. Also very close to lots of restaurants and a nice bar accross the road to sit out till late.

Poor breakfast: no fresh fruits, very limited choice of meals. No
refrigerator (and even no minibar!) in the room; Airconditioner very
noisy. The hotel is obviously overestimated; it is fair 3*, but never
4*; However the hotel is on the beach, this beach is hugely
overcrowded!!!

The bar and the vue from it. Breakfast was good too, would be better with more fruits and fresh orange juice.

Yes the swimming pool, too small and no controle over undisciplined teenagers, who simply occupied it at considered it theirs. One afternoon they even played football in the pool with some guys in the pool while others were oustside the pool.
Pity that the Ocean had traces of pollution floating on the surface. I did swim though but it wasn't always pleasant.

access to the beach superb..loved the breakfast on the outdoor terrace Hotel is overlooking the beach. great happy hour from six till eight pm which we only discovered on the second last day! lovely long beach for walking in the morning breakfast is good great coffee handy location if you have a car as you can tour easily from here.. hotel is quiet

bar closes at 12 am which is a bit too early if you are out late for dinner and would like to relax and have a drink before going to bed... make sure you get sea facing room although balcony is very small but great view

Las vistas al mar, incluida la habitacion.

La habitacion muy pequeña, en cambio el baño muy grande, pero muy anticuado. no tenia frigorifico, la tele muy pequeña, no se podia sintonizar la T.V. española, no tenia radio o musica de ambiengte.En general la habitaciçon muy anticuada.
