Some staff very accepting of backpackers, others not so much. We're a fit couple in our early 60's who have completed two Caminos in Spain and Portugal with backpacks and carry no luggage or fancy evening wear. We present as neat, and clean, wearing nice quality travel pants, tops, and shoes. However, it was quite evident at this place by the raised eyebrows of the doorman, and the "suits" at the VIP desk near reception that we were beneath the client quality threshold for this wannabe four-star establishment. None-the-less, we were allowed entry, and most younger staff were pleasant with us during our stay. My advice to the hotel....Don't advertise your rooms through booking.com if you can't "positively" accept all travelers. My advice to the snooty guys in suits who look down your noses at backpackers who book at your hotel....backpackers who walk through your doors may be VIP's these days...don't be so quick to judge and you might get a return business customer in a suit next time. In our case, we won't staying at a Mundial hotel ever again either for business or leisure, because of this rather cold reception by key staff.
Good location, clean room, and good breakfast.
