Hotel Mundial is located in the very heart of Lisbon. The small streets
surrounding the hotel are full of atmosphere with small restaurants and bars wherever you go. The main square (Rossio Square) is a 2-minute walk from the hotel. The rooms at the Hotel Mundial are a successful mix of traditional design and they offer all the modern comforts that you would expect from a 4-star hotel. The rooms offer a distinct feeling of space due to the high ceilings, light decor and large windows.

Hotel information

Hotel Mundial, which was inaugurated on the 3rd of December 1958, has gone through several stages of refurbishment and extension; the last renovation was made in May 2004. It is situated in the heart of Lisbon, the Baixa Pombalina area, with the historical St. George's castle in the background and the Rossio square close by. Its beautiful location is one of its most distinguishing characteristics.

Food & beverage

With an amazing view over the city, the panoramic restaurant "Varanda de Lisboa" on the top floor offers typically Portuguese and international cuisine in an elegant environment with piano music over dinner.
The café "Jardim Mundial", facing the Martim Moniz square, has a relaxed atmosphere and offers the possibility to enjoy a selection of light meals during the day.

The 350 rooms, including 3 suites and 5 junior suites, have been equipped and decorated in order to provide the maximum comfort in an elegant and modern environment.

very convenient location and good standard for the price

Very poor communication between Reception and the Dining Room. Confusion over the dinner offer voucher. Dining room staff very unhelpful but Reception staff and the manager dealt with the situation to my satisfaction.

Location was excellent. Staff excellent, very helpful and friendly.

Restaurant service was less than expected as compared with other international and national hotels of the same star rating.

Location of this hotel is superb, just next to Rossio Station, a 15 min walk to the Castelo and 3 min walk to Rossio Sataion.

But at night, this area is filled with gangster-like people around!

The excellent location and proximity to local attractions and transport. The breakfast was good. The bar area was good. The reception staff and porters were helpful and polite

On arrival, the room smelt of smoking though this did clear after a few hours of the air conditioning working. The breakfast room was very busy with queues at peak times

It was close to where I was working.

A very clumsy system for wireless internet. Dirty, No hot water unless you ran the water for 5 minutes. Staff who ignored you when you were at the reception desk.....many more.
