The location of the hotel right next to the Monastery The staff were barely helpful, breakfast was chaotic and half way through ran out of eggs and bacon. Rooms were adequate but not three star. Air-conditioning hopeless, it leaked water all the time onto the carpet and we had to change room because water got into the fan motor and jammed it, even though I had warned the staff it was leaking. Hotel catered for large parties and there were three coach loads while we were there. Not a place for a quiet stay!

It was a clean, quiet, friendly hotel, close to the centre with an excellent view of the monastary. It represented good value for money and I would stay there again.

The location in front of the Mosteiro de Alcobaca was superb. Unfortunately the bed was positioned away from this view so I had to stand at the window. There was plenty of hot water in the tub/shower and bathroom toiletries. The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping was quite adequate. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day and they were slow to replenish the hot dishes (eggs, bacon) but it was plentiful and varied. I appreciated the refrigerator in the room. Friendly staff. I would definitely stay in this hotel again as it was an excellent value for money. It is difficult to find an internet cafe in town. The hotel could provide a computer for free guest use, as they do in many hotels.

Great location - directly across the street from and overlooking the monastery. The rooms are huge and kept tidy. The front desk staff all spoke fluent English and were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a lot of selection and included freshly cooked scrambled eggs and bacon. The hotel is dated and worn but kept clean.

The location is perfect for visiting the Monastery in Alcobaca. We had a great view of it from right across the street. Close to good restaurants, secure parking in the hotel garage, it was a highlight of our trip.

The room and the bathroom were quite big with an awesome view on the monastery. The carpet was stained and some pieces of forniture looked quite old. Around Portugal we found better places at a lower price!

View of monastery from bedroom and location for trip to various destinations including Fatima. Hotel in need of refurbishment. Local star rating only 2 which seems realistic.

Very nice hotel, in the centre of Alcobaça. We had a very nice view on the monastery and marketplace. The staff was excellent, free car park, breakfast was more than enough. Rooms are old fashioned furnitured, but beds are very good and comfortable.

Superb location in the town (probably the best of all the hotels) with large veranda with un- obstructed view overlooking the convent. Excellent helpful, service oriented personnel, convenient underground secure parking, a good breakfast, wifi and an attractive comfortable reception/bar area with reasonable prices. Several good restaurants within a few minutes walk. We'll be back.

The location is perfect. Upon request we were given a room with a view on the monastery - thank you for that! The staff was friendly. The hotel is a bit run-down and in need of renovation. Breakfast was rather poor.

The location next to the monastery. We mainly booked this hotel because we needed a baby cot and a parking. The parking was good and quiet protected. The room was quite okay.

Location (right in front of the monastery) and room space. Good for a short stay. Don't expect nothing fancy. This hotel needs to be modernized. It looks like it has stopped in the 80'S. The mattresses are very hard, there was no shampoo or shower gel (only 2 small soaps) and the general look of everything is old.

the hotel was in a superb location looking right out onto the monastery, ask for a room with a view and they will try and place you at the front. The breakfast was suffice, basic but fresh and clean. The room was clean, which is all i cared about, in need of a refurb really but a great bargain, just what we needed for one nights stay. Around the corner at the Pensao we had the tourist menu - excellent! only 23 euros for us both to eat about 4 courses, with water and wine! it needed refurbishment really. although clean, some plaster had fallen off the walls and the carpets are quite old. Don't let this put you off though, it is clean and excellent value for money.

The hotel is quite simple but comfortable. Staff is always very helpful. Free private parking. Superb location, couldn't be any closer to main attraction. Even though Alcobaça does not have too much to see, it's a great hotel to stay and visit other cities nearby.

The view from the rooms facing the street is awesome. You can see the all facade of the monastery. The room is confortable enough for a pleasent stay. It is very quiet. Being right at the centre of the town, in front of the monastery is perfect. Close to restaurants also. The park is free. No hair drier in the room (only at the reception) or shampoo.
