The employees are very nice, the rooms are very confortable with a nice decoration and the bathrooms in marble are sumptous. Fantastic location for shopping and to visit the city center, good restaurant. I had a memorable stay. |

Friendly environment with sympathetic receptionists and waiters, agreeable "patio", confortable room, peculiar combination of early 20th century and modern design, The lift is a bit tricky; if one approaches the door it activates the stop mechanism too early. |

Even though the air conditioner did not work and could not be made to work, we thought that it was very nice and more or less of a bargain. (Due to your special rates.) I mentioned the air conditioning. In the summer it can get up to 42 degrees in Porto, and so they should work on this. But there's a lot that is very good about this hotel, including the staff. |

Old and very charmful hotel, with modern and design furniture. Very well located. Good breakfast. Not convenient to park the car. |

Very good location, nice design of common areas, good breakfast, good service. Our room was next to the lift; the room could have been bigger. |

Exceptional front desk staff that were very knowledgeable and attentive; historic and well located hotel. Small rooms, tv too small to see, no facilities such as pool, gym or jacuzzi; breakfast average and not up to the level of a 5 star hotel. In fact, hotel is definitely not 5 stars. I would rate it at 4. Still a nice place though - no major complaints. |

Great design, a mixture of the original 50's and a modern kitsch/surreal style, (sounds awful, but works really well); excellent service and a great bed! |

The room was fantastic. Really large and spacious, airy. We had a lovely view on the street. The staff were very informative and friendly. The hotel generally was lovely with great dining facilities and a lovely courtyard to catch the sun in. We were disappointed we had to leave but would definately go back if in that part of the world again. |

Helpful staff, exceptional location and a wonderful building make for a great stay. This isn't really a minus on the hotel's part but a warning to other visitors: if you decide to drive in be warned that is very difficult to navigate Porto's old quarter and the parking is very limited, the hotel has no garage. If you're lucky like we were you can park just around the corner out front, it is free after 20:00 on Friday until 08:00 on Monday. Porto is also a lively city so expect some street noise if you have a room at the front of the hotel. |

The hotel is centrally located and offers all the comfort required. The breakfast buffet, included in the room price, is excellent. If I were to go back to Porto I would stay there again. Rooms are not soundproof, one can sometimes hear noises fornm neighbouring rooms but then again the hotel is situated in an older building. it was not so much a problem. |

I liked the public rooms, very impressive. I particularly liked the inner courtyard. The beds are very very comfortable and the breakfast generally is very good. I think it could have been cleaner in certain areas. The dining room carpet needed vaccuuming and cleaning especially on the morning of 24 May and also some of the drinks tables were not wiped over frequently enough so it's off putting to see dirty ring marks on them. Please get a new toaster for the breakfast sitting! The hotel does not warrant 5 stars; it should be 4 star. |
