The decor of the communal areas and bedrooms was very nice. The location was excellent. I don't think a five star hotel should have a plastic toilet seat, and very cheap toilet paper. Generally the bathroom looked very tired, the sealant around the bath looked like it hadn't been looked at in years. The bar/spa prices were very high (if you could find a barman!) - maybe they might make a bit more money if they reduced their prices! Overall, given that it is supposedly a 5 star "Luxury Hotel of the World" I was a bit disappointed.

The decoration is pretty cool and the staff is really friendly. The location is good too, but... I booked a superior room that was supposed to offer an "extra space for comfort and privacy". That was not the case at all, the room was really small and really didn't have the comfort of a five star hotel. Since we had a child with us, after paying for the extra bed, it had to be squeezed on the foot of the other bed. The Tv was so small, had maybe 6 channels at the most and really poor image. I was aware that I would have to pay for internet and parking, but considering the price of the room it would be nice if the hotel could provide these services for free.

We had a lovely stay at the Infante de Sagres. The hotel is very well located in the centre of Porto. It is a wonderful mixture of old and new. With modern one item items of furniture in a very traditional setting. The entrance lounge with the huge stained glass down the staircase and modern chandelier are of particular note. The staff were friendly and professional. The room was extremely comfortable - clean and with a comfortable bed and luxury linen. We enjoyed sitting in the small courtyard for breakfat and drinks. Thanks to the hotel for an enjoyable stay we would certainly recommend the hotel.

From the welcome with the glass of port, to helping with our one day tour, the staff were attentive and helpful. The hotel has style and, while starting to show it's age, is still very charming and the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the courtyard with it's fountain and waiter service was another highlight. We recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Porto.

Hotel of prestige with very kindly staff, at a walking distance of what you want to visit in Porto.Breakfast included. Quality/price more than expected. Spa and massage was not what I could expect comparing with all the other services of the hotel.

Hotel absolutely! does not deserve 5 stars, maybe weak for 3 stars. Beautiful lobby fittings, are not compensated by a very small double room, breakfast feeble, / waitress asked for your hot chocolate gave in the bag not giving milk /, sloppy and grime in the restaurant. I do not recommend this hotel.

The hotel did not live up to expectations. It is a 4* not a 5*. Staff were very superior and unhelpful, We waited ages for tea and coffee each morning and often had to ask. No one smiled. We were there for my daughters wedding blessing, we altogether had 6 bedrooms booked, and had hoped for a more enthusiastic respnse from staff. We will be coming regularly to Porto in the future and certainly wont stay at this hotel.

Central Staff were not very friendly. I had booked and paid extra for a room 'with a careful attention to details, this room offers extra space for comfort and privacy'. It was a small room only with the advantage of overlooking the small courtyard.

Hotel has a very good location with easy access to many sightseeing pleces, close to railway station and metro. Hotel has a very nice lobby with a stained- glasses, antique furniture, lamps , fire place and elevator with the sofa. Very style vintage interior. Breakfast was very good. On the ground floor there is very nice boutique with hand made soap, creme, aroma items e.t.c. May be 20 years ago when hotel was opened it was a 5 star hotel, but not now! First of all I would clean properly windows and mirrors in the reastaurant. Than I would fully change bathrooms, which definately celebrates 20th birthday without any renovation and look very old fashioned as well as a wadrobe. They try to be 5 star hotel, but they are not! The rates are overpriced!

The hotel was lovely but suffered from some faded glory. Overall we had a lovely stay but we had to change rooms because the hot water in the bath didn't work. It was dealt with swiftly and were moved to the room next door all within about 20 minutes. Beds were really comfortable. The room was way too hot on arrival and it wasn't obvious how to cool the room down but again, the hotel staff dealt with it quickly and efficiently. The breakfast was excellent. The dining room window frames were huge and were mucky and had cobwebs at the top. The location was central to attractions of the city but there were bins outside the front door and quite a few tramps and drop outs - we felt it necessary to keep our heads down and rush into the hotel to avoid being accosted.

Good location, (Sandro) bar man was very friendly compared to other staff, Considering this is supposed to be a slh, was surpried that there were no ironing facilities I could use. There was mould in the bathroom, only one bathrobe available in our double room. Apart from barman, staff not very friendly, especially when asked for assistance on recommendations for restaurants. Breakfast was average, breakfast staff very miserable!! We loved Porto and would return, but definately not to this hotel.

Location is very central. Staff is helpful. Lobby of the hotel has an interesting interior design. No free parking. No free internet. There were a few junkies around the hotel after midnight. Hotel rooms are renovated but the bathroom is quite old. There were only a few tv channels available.

The public areas were divine - sumptious and camp. It's the sort of place you walk into and go wow. The furnishings and style suggested luxury and the outside terraces were very good. The view from the bedroom window (3rd floor) was charming over the rooftops of Porto and the welcome glass of port was a good touch. The lift was fabulous. Staying here made us feel special and so glad we did so. The decor in the bedroom was a bit tired and the tv did not tune in easily or give a clear picture - but then, we were not there to watch tv! The bedlinen was good quality. The staff could smile a bit more - but then, this may be a national trait. Nonetheless their service was very good.

They upgraded our room to this fabulous suite which was fit for a queen. The fabulous room over looked the bar on the other side of the street that had live music on the street until almost 2am. The windows were rattling so hard I thought they may break. Do not get a front facing room on the weekend apparently. Unless you want to get out there and join the party of course.

The hotel was very well situated for walking everywhere. The interior was very quirky. The breakfast buffet was good to have. The restaurant attached to the hotel while very good had a very limited menu however the staff were very accommodating..
