I booked a room with balcony to garden views, and they gave me a room with terrace. In the first moment instead this was not my book I accepted for polite. Then in my first night I started to feel really bad for the strong smell of humidity, on windows, you can't open the door, no light, that was not good for healthy. I asked for another room and they told me, they could not do it. I realised they lie to every guess in the first moment give you a room with terrace and then when you are complain with this kind of room give you the room you booked in the first moment. It's a shame, I am not recommended, the worst experience in my life on a hotel.
Quietness, open air breakfast, nice pool area and closeness to beach and town
No room wifi
Nice view, nice enough room. Walking distance to the beach. Approx. 15-20 minutes to the city centre.
We wanted to have breakfast in the morning a bit earlier (starts at 8:30). At At 08;15 we couldn't even get a coffee. Left without breakfast then, since we had a tour booked. At least a coffee would have been nice to get. The bathroom was very small and the door opened a bit though.
Beautiful clean spacious rooms. Great swimming pool to relax near. Breakfast was delicious every morning and included in the price. Really good value for money.
No wifi in the rooms only at the bar mad lobby area.
The breakfast is really nice and variety, pretty views from there.. Great mixture between country and beach, lots of roads to walk and run in the nature
Maybe sometimes there is a little bit noise where having breakfast coming from the kitchen.. The access road would better if it were asphalted (be careful with your car!)
I loved its location how tranquil the place felt, I loved the decor, and the breakfast was absolutly stunning. This place was amazing value for money
It was a great place for just a base, which it was for us. The breakfast provided covered all tastes, I tried to find something that they did not provide but failed. I would visit again.
The rooms were a bit basic but we were not expecting luxury when we booked it. It's a bit off the beaten track as you have to travel down a dirt track to get to it but that adds to the charm of the place. If you wanted a bit more luxury then you would book one of the large Gin Palaces on the sea front.
A lovely authentic Bed and Breakfast in an adapted old villa a little off the beaten track yet still very close to the beach. The staff were very friendly and spoke fantastic English. A delicious breakfast was served on the balcony overlooking the grounds and the Algarve coast. The later checkout time of 11-30 really suited us.
This is such a personal thing and hardly worth mentioning, but the bed was too hard for me.
Location was pretty good - close to the ocean and away from the touristy noise
Bland breakfast, staff sometimes a little rude (especially in the morning) - for around 100 €, we definitely expect more than that!
The location was perfect, very quiet and a perfect distance from the many things to do in Lagos. The breakfast was quality in such a lovely relaxed setting, perfect to start the day. We really felt we were on our own whilst the staff were always there when we needed them. Even though the complex was full during my stay, it never felt busy which was very important to us.
Our studio apartment was very basic in the kitchen lacking many utensils such as adequate cutlery, tin openers, bottle openers etc. I don't want to make a big deal out of this though as they were supplied through us simply asking. Whilst spending time round the pool, it would have been nice to be able to purchase a drink. We had run out of cold drinks in our apartment and when we asked if we could purchase one we were told that instead we'd have to go to the local shop which was inconvenient. To just be able to buy something cold would have been lovely.
The staff were pleasant and had reasonably good English and the apartment had an excellent view.
Only 3 out of the 8 lights in the apartment worked. An exterior door broke due to attempting to turn the key and needed fixing immediately. There was also a large stain down the patio door. Also, the kitchen was poorly equipped e.g no kettle.
Friendly staff Lovely sea view Pool was very nice and cleaned often
So the walk to the beach and the town centre may only take 15/20 minutes each way, but it's definitely worth considering that about 25% of this walk is down a dirt path with no lights. As such, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with children or groups if females as it was very scary at night. If you have a car it would be fine, if not....maybe choose another hotel. Then there are a few other negatives... We have a double room which apparently had kitchen facilities. We did have a microwave and a tiny fridge but that was it. No cutlery, plates, cups, kettle, glasses etc. there is nowhere to get food close by either so it's a case of walking into town or not eating. There was no light on out balcony so sitting on it at night was impossible. Finally....our bed was broken so was quite uncomfortable.
The room decoration in warm colours, the balcony with the sea view (although faraway). Good selection of food/drinks for the breakfast. Only 5 min drive to the Lagos Marina big parking where the car could be parked for free while we were wining and dining.
Tens of flies in the open-air breakfast area - it was difficult to eat being attacked almost every second. A bit passive reception desk in approaching guests when issues appeared. There was an obvious electrical installation problem in our room for 2 days of our stay - sparks from the socket by any attempt to switch on electrical devices and total electricity switch off afterwards. A non-professional electrician tried to fix it on the 1st day, but we were left without electricity the whole night (no air-co, no fridge, no light) and scared of incidental fire from the faulty installation. Next door room experienced the same problem. At midnight we were offered the room change but it was too much hustle to walk with luggage to the opposite side of the property. On the 2nd day just by the evening the repair was made by the professional electrician but we were uncomfortable having the room open to strangers for the whole day. We were not offered any compensation for the inconvenience what was rather disappointing.
this hotel was very authentic Portuguese style.
Unfinished building work in some places around the hotel.
The staff was kind and helpfull. It was near the beach - 10 minutes walking. The pool and garden area was lovely.
The breakfast wasn't great - the fruit was not very fresh and there were too many people for what the staff could handle. The room was not ventilated enough, hence it smelled kinda rusty.
