With a longstanding presence in the city, the hotel Ipanema Porto has recently been renovated and redecorated to provide a more modern, comfortable and practical atmosphere.
140 standard rooms (130 twin/ 10 double) and 10 suites (with a king-size bed), equipped with double glazing, a minibar, satellite TV and pay-TV, direct dial telephone, individual safes at the reception, a hairdryer, room service, air-conditioning, coffee/tea making facilities (only in the suites) and a wireless Internet system.
1 restaurant, 1 bar and 8 multipurpose rooms.

The city of Oporto boasts 2000 years of history. It is closely linked to the founding of the Portuguese nation and has even provided it with the origins of its name.
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this destination is well-known for the natural and warm hospitality of the local people and its wonderful scenery, particularly along the course of the River Douro, where the grapes used for the famous Port wine grow.
This capital of the north (as it often called) is the second largest city in a country which has offered the world a guarantee of quality in the major international events which it has already hosted. In addition to being the European Capital of Culture in 2001, Oporto was also one of the main host cities for the “Euro 2004”.

Our “Rios” restaurant specialises in traditional local food, although it also offers international cuisine.
It can cater for up to 100 people and has a large outside esplanade.
Next to the lobby you can find the aptly-named “Meeting Point” bar, with live music on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30p.m. to 11.30p.m.

The accommodation consists of comfortable and functional rooms. The attention we have paid to detail even extends to the provision of a floor with rooms for women only. We offer non-smoking rooms and also rooms for disabled guests are available.
In addition to the listed facilities the rooms are equipped with double glazing windows.

Located at the main entrance to the city (near the Arrábia bridge), the hotel Ipanema Porto is surrounded by shopping centres, cinemas, theatres and the “Casa da Música” (Music Hall) and is very near to the city’s main sports stadium (the “Pavilhão Rosa Mota”).
The historic area of the city, the São Bento railway station and the Port wine cellars can be reached within 10 minutes.

The elevators are small and causing a bottle-neck in the morning.

Room not ready on check-in. It took 2 hrs more to get it ready. No
explanation given for this nor even a complimentary cup of coffee as
apology!!! No iron in the room or at front desk. No facilities at all
available. No mirror near a electricity socket. Hair dryer did not work.
No safe in room. Will not be recommending this hotel ever.

There are a shopping center and restaurants nera the hotel.

Elevators are very small and often they are always full at check-out time inthe morning.

Cleaninness, breakfast

Noise (broken pipe, machinery or similar) inside I could hear from the

Centrality, friendliness of staff

We arrived early after a long flight but couldn't book in until 14h00; we understand this is the regulation, but it seemed a bit hard, especially as it was raining.

Very friendly and helpfull staff, clean (especially toilets) good
atmosphere, good beds, the location in town incl parking

Diner was disappointing. The buffet with apetizers was ok, but the warm
food was cold/old.Cold mash potatoes, rice was also cold. The hake-fish
tasted good but was overcooked.

Staff at reception desk were helpful and cheerful. Breakfast was excellent (fruit salad was really fresh). Very clean, close to the town centre and a shopping mall

Good parking facilities, town centre a short walk away, staff friendly and helpful

A minor niggle - the lifts. There were too few to cope with the peak period usage over the weekend and it was never possible to tell which way the lift was going to go once one stepped in; it didn't matter whether the up or down button was pressed, the lift seemed to stop regardless of the direction it was going to travel.

we asked for a quiet room and we got one! the room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice. the wifi worked perfectly.

they could have another pillow option on the room.

Some small signs of recent renovation in the room, Tv could have more English channels (like discovery....)
