Hotel Jupiter

The service of the staff was exceptional nothing was too much trouble. It is ideally situated for the beach. The standards of the hotel in quality furnishings are very high and the food in the hotels restraunt was delicious. highly recommended. they even provided a packed lunch for the journey back...without asking. good service

The bath was slightly smaller than expected but that was only a very , very minor thing.

Incredibly polite staff, spotlessly clean, excellent food. They could not do enough for you and nothing was too much trouble. Location fantastic for beach and local facilities without being in a noisy area. No hesitation in recommending this hotel to others and we will definetly be returning.

The location is absolutely perfect... at the end of a street with a lot of pubs, bars and restaurants and at the crossing towards the beach.

It's a little bit noisy, especially flushing of toilets.

\i felt it was a bit run down and could do with redecorating.

The location was excellent as it was close to all amenities and close to a local bus route to get around the area. The Hotel was classified as 4* and was in fact a 4* unlike many Hotels in Europe which are usually 2 -3 * at best. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to help and oblige. I had e-mailed in advance to ask that our group could be seated together in the Restaurant but on arrival found that this hadn't been communicated to the Restaurant. After speaking to the Restaurant Manager this was arranged immediately and we had the same tables for the duration of the holiday. The evening entertainment was very limited but as there are some excellent local bars with live entertainment this was not a problem.

It in no way spoilt my holiday but if I have to make just one comment it is that the food choices were somewhat limited at the evening meal. I took a group of 22 people and some were disappointed that there was a meat dish and a fish dish every evening, but the meat dish was always either beef or pork, and the vegetable choice was very limited to mainly carrots or broccoli. The quality was good in everything and breakfast options were very good.

The location was exactly right.

(a) the lack of parking space (but that was true of the entire Algarve) (b) breakfast was too short and therefore crowded (c) we had to ask three times, over a period of three hours, for additional coat-hangers for our room. Not good!

We had a fantastic room facing the ocean. Nice breakfast, excellent staff, free wifi, what else to wish for? Would stay there again!

Excellent location, best on the strip.

Limited Parking, and having to pay a cash deposit for towels. Minor things but worth mentioning.

The hotel 's location is excellent, overlooking the beach and near bars and restaurants. Good breakfast.

There was live music by the pool every night until midnight. We were on the 8th (top) floor and even with the window shut and earplugs, we were unable to sleep. This was the only time the staff were unhelpful, refusing to ask the musicians to turn down the volume. This is obviously only a problem in the high season.

We had a great view from our room of the beach and sea, which was a lovely way to start our day. The room was pretty basic, but it was clean and we were only there for 3 nights, so we didn't mind too much. The hotel itself is a little tired but appeared to be quite popular with the the package tourists. There was salsa dancing by the pool each night, although that's not exactly our cup of tea, but at least the noise ends bang on midnight. The hotel is within easy walk of everything, beach, shops, restaurants, although Praia da Rocha is fairly quiet unless you venture down to the port, where it's a lot more lively with plenty of new bars and restaurants. Try a restaurant called Dockside, which is next to the water and serves great fish dishes.

There wasn't too many downsides to the hotel, although the breakfast was fairly matorway-cafe standard, with eggs and bacon sitting in pools of grease!
