breakfast time is a little bit too late at 8,00; 7,00 am could be much better I think.

The location was excellent, the service very good and welcoming. The room was rather small and the interior design cold. The door to the room was right by the main staircase so it was noisy.

The staircases at the entrance and the quietness Poor bathroom maintenance; poor electric wiring (some wires were without proper insulation!) a too eclectic interior design of the room and part of the lobby

Great location, friendly stuff, tidy room. Maybe we were unkucky, but we lived in a very small room with a little window which was more like a hole in a roof, than a window. It seemed to me like living in a hobbit squat than in a hotel room. Breakfast was poor (continental one with 3 types of bread), but it is not included so you'd better choose another cosy place to eat. No elevator was crucial for my suitcase: now it is almost dead after climbing on the 4th floor. In spite all of this the place is nice with great location, in the very center, so if you manage to get bigger room everything will be ok.

Good location, easy walking distance to the city centre. We booked a triple room and it was very large with 1 double and 2 singles - ideal for friends or a family group. There was also a spacious bathroom. The room was clean and fresh towels were provided each day. Excellent value for money. The shower suffered from some fluctuation in temperature. Pillows were very basic. There was also some noise from other guests staying in the hotel (old stone staircase meant that the sound travelled, so this is unavoidable).

The receptionists were very friendly and spoke more than one language. Thebreaskfast is good for the price. I love the mix with modern and old. Missed the tv since I like to watch the news when I travel. It was very clean. I will recommend it to my friends! No tv and I could be a little noisy at night from the other rooms. Nothing that you couldn't stand.

I made reservations on line and not being familar with Lisbon made my decision based on Location & cost ... well it surpassed my expections.. Quaint with typical terrace in our room.. Living with locals yet 10 min walk to main square.. We loved it . THe staff Myriam & Pedro were fabulous.. They both spoke perfect English and helped us with our plans to see the city.. I highly recommend this Guest house for everyone.. We were 2 retired ladies and felt very safe here -- it would also be a very romantic place for a couple.. Quiet and comfortable.. We walked everywhere even late at night and felt safe.. Excellent

It was a nice room (art deco style). The building itself was pretty nice (older building in the center of town). The rate was decent. The shower was nice. As with much of the trip across Spain and Portugal, there was effectively no heat (a small radiator that gave off heat to half foot radius). No central unit in the room. Could not get online. Password that was given did not work and signal was 'very weak'. Talked to desk and he came up and tried and could not get online. He said he would look into it and never came back. Had to use iPhone for browsing nearby activities. No phone in the room. No view with the room we had and did not like the location. We had stayed in Lisbon for a couple nights early on in the trip and wanted to try a new part of town, but this hotel seemed close to nothing. It was in the city centre as promised and not touristy which was good, just didn not see any restaurants near or bars (maybe didn't take the correct turn if there was one) and little was open. No tv in the room. Not that we were going to watch for a long time, but while I am searching on iPhone for Fado show because of the lack of internet, it would have been nice to my friend to get her mind off of the room's coldness.

The location, the decoration, the building and the way it has been renovated At the beginning we have been put in the room 101. There was a terrible smell in the bathroom, the room was small, the shower door was broken, there were wires on the wall, the window was not closing proprely. We asked to change and we had a good room instead.

We have stayed at Lavra Guesthouse for 4 nights - the location of the hotel is great - very pictursque terace with beautiful castle view, 10 minutes walk to the main Rossio square - for lazy guests - possibility to use Lavra elevator from Restauradores square. The interior simply but very nicely arranged, clean room, friendly staff. I truly recommend this place expecially for couples who do not want to overpay.

Situate in the center at walking distance to the main square. Big room, and clean. In an old building with all its charm. The old wooden floor, the big stair had its charm. Was not expecting any luxury, and was happily surprised with this choice. Should I come back to Lisbon, I will certainly book this place again.

Grand old building. Great views from rooftop terrace. Very helpful staff who speak many languages. Fairly central location at the top of the Lavra Funicular. Lots of inexpensive authentic retaurants on the same street. Too much street noise - no A.C. to block it out. Beds were quite small. Bathroom way too small. Could do without bidet so you could close bathroom door. Perched at the top of a hill which meant a lot of uphill walking when funicular wasn't running.

Lovely old buiding centrally located in a tipycal Lisbone street. Very closed to places of interest and main station and buses. Lovely roof terrace where to relax after a busy day sightseeing. Fantastic! We had a room overlooking the Calcada de Santana which was a bit noisy when the rubbish track passed each night. It was hot so we slept with window open although we could have used fan in the room. So with windows closed wouldn´t have been a problem at all.

On a map the location looks excellent, however it is at the top of a long steep hill and you wouldn't want to walk up it in the dark by yourself. The rooms are incredibly noisy, both from street noise and you can hear everything that goes on in the rooms around you so if you want a good nights sleep don't stay here.
