We really liked our stay at this apartment & would be happy to stay there again! It was in a good location for visiting the city with local amenities, restaurants, cafes & bars nearby, & walking distance from Bairro Alto & train stations for day visits. We'd recommend going to Sintra from Rossio station for castles & gardens, and Cascais from Cais do Sodre station for beaches. Both are about 20 minutes walking from the apartment. You can get to the apartment in about an hour from the airport by taking the Metro to Rato station (change at Saldanha). From there it's just 10/15 minutes walking. It's worth pointing out that Lisbon has a lot of very steep hills. If you want to walk around they are unavoidable so it's best to be positive about it & see it as a work out for your leg muscles :) The pavements are often cobbled which makes pulling a suitcase with wheels a little more difficult. The apartment is on a steep hill so it's best to approach it from the top side (Rua Escola Politecnica). The nearest supermarket is just 5 minutes away. To find it go up Rua Nacional from the apartment & then down the hill to the right. It's on the edge of the square at the bottom. The apartment was lovely with all modern furnishings. It was situated at the back of the building so it was quiet & we had a garden view of sorts from our small balcony. There was a kitchen (which we made good use of) with fridge, freezer, hobs, toaster, kettle, coffee machine & microwave (no oven though). It had a great air-con unit which was vital with the heat, plus a TV & speaker for plugging your music into. The bathroom had a really nice shower, there was a hairdryer & iron, plus plenty of cupboard space for hanging clothes etc. The cleaner popped in every day around lunch. We really enjoyed relaxing at the apartment with a glass of wine.
The bathroom smelt really bad. We think it was some sort of drainage problem. We dealt with it by putting an air freshner in there & making sure we kept the window open & door closed so that the smell didn't spread to the rest of the apartment. To be fair, it wasn't a deal breaker as the bathroom was really nice apart from that. The bed was comfortable but would have been better had it been a bit wider. I slept on the sofa a few times so that my girlfiend could get a better nights sleep without me in the way. Not comfortable for me unfortunately. The only other thing that might be useful to know was that the apartment was situated at the top of the building which meant climbing the stairs as there wasn't a lift. We didn't mind this at all so aren't critiscising it, we just thought it could be a problem for some people that would already be struggling with the very steep hills of Lisbon.
The place is really nice- you can discover the real way how do people in Lisbon live- it is like to have a flat in a common house.
You have to arrange to get the keys on a particular hour, which can be very stressed. And also- there is no mark of the appartments neither on the bells or on the house.
Location is awesome - 10 mins walking from city centre yet quiet for convenient sleep. Has everything you might need. The staff is very friendly. You get the real apartment for the price of hotel
Nothing to mention - everything was great. Thanks guys - keep doing the awesome work!
we really liked the very charming floor and all in all it was very nice to stay there
I loooooved it, really adorable
annoyingly loud traffic, all the time.
Staff really great, house super clean, great location and super quiet at night.
The upstairs pink room needs an urgent blind! Not suitable for people who like sleeping late without direct sunlight.
Excellent for a visit to Lisbon
Location was great. A 5 minute walk to Barrio Alto and a few other places. Facilities were good. No noise at night as it was on a quiet street.
It was situated near our grand daughter's apartment and was near the food shops. We just liked the city and it's ambiance and left with muscles in our legs we never knew we had.
We Would have liked a comfortable sitting area, we are getting old and sometimes like to sit and read in comfort and would look for that in the future.
Nice appartement, very well equipped and clean. A lots of things IKEA!
Very good Apartments! Good breakfast was bonus as well!
Everything was excelent! Very good value for the money. Nice breakfast!
The apartment was a little bit cold but the room had AirCon.
I really enjoyed the welcoming pack, as coffee and wine. The space of the sleeping room and the comfortable king size bed.
The parking. Area with no night parking at all.
Very good breakfast, clean and good bathroom/shower/toilet,
sometimes lots of noise upstairs
Breakfast is very nice, though our neighbors took our breakfast the first morning - two apartments share the entrance space. Reception kindly offered to come to their BB and have breakfast there on that morning (it is not nearby though). The apartment was very clean, there was coffee, water, wine as a welcome. All devices working, TV has English channels.
Our apartment had no balcony nor terrace. The bathroom is very dark, so dark that it is challenging to put contact lenses in. I'd suggest some lamp near the mirror as I can (or rather cannot) imagine someone trying to put on make-up there... Location not too central, check it carefully before booking, I imagined it as something better connected. It is not far from the center though, after all it is a city, not a town.
The apartment is chic and welcoming, has plenty of personality and makes you feel great, just to stay there. Location is great, we walked to the center. It is uphill, but if wanna discover Lisbon, this is what you should do. We had cleaning every day, so when arriving, in the evening, place was intact, dishes were cleaned, you would just enjoy a vacation. Lots of facilities available, from hairdryer to ironing machine. The staff helped us with guidance on where we can find free parking, which helped a lot. Warmly recommend the apartment, would return.
Would have appreciated a little diversity when it comes to the breakfast, from one day to another. It can get hard to enjoy the same products 4 days at a row.
Convenient location and functional facilities. Everything is organized well. Great overall experience
The apartment is almost perfect for a nice weekend or a week in Lisbon. Suited for a single person as well as for a couple it offers everything one needs plus a little bit more (the amazing breakfast comes to mind). It should be mentioned though that we wonder if the apartment is suited for very hot periods since it has no air condition. It was no problem for us since we stayed in October though. Apart from that little restriction we would definitely book with Lisbon City Break again.
The apartment was simple but lovely, with a balcony and comfortable bed. The breakfast each day was incredible and a wonderful way to start the day. Also a coffee machine in the apartment and complimentary bottle of wine were terrific extra touches. My partner and I will definitely stay again.
It was a little further from the centre than I thought but that was my fault for not understanding the locality better, however the barrio was great for shopping. The lighting in the bathroom was also very poor, could not see much in there.
Staff were very helpful and even took the time to look up restaurants for us to try. Accommodation was beautiful inside, well stocked with tea/coffee/bottle of wine. Breakfast was fantastic and super cute.
The location was hard to get to walking - take a taxi if you go with suitcases or heavy bags. The hotel map does not include the apartment location.
We had a great time at Lisbon city break. Location is great, at the same time it is very quiet street. It’s a pleasure to have a rest after long city discovery avoiding any outside noise. The apartment was clean, well presented and equipped with everything (towels, hair-dryer and kitchen facilities). The staff is professional and friendly, work 24/7 and very helpful. Breakfast is wonderful; nicely presented in the basket to your door. We really enjoyed it every morning on the balcony!!! Highly recommended for city trip.
Staying in the lovely "blue" appartment was so comfortable and cozy. We loved this kind of accomodation that gives us home-like feeling. Especially breakfasts buskets felt like the touch of luxury.
