The hotel matched perfectly the description and located so pleasantly in the city that it is hard to beat in this category.Beeing a 'small' hotel one feels much more comfortable than in the big hotel-factories. I do not favour the bad habit of hotels that ask money and deposit for the in room safe. |

We had a room high up with a balcony and 2 reclining chairs + table and directly overlooking the sea. Completely private. The room was large and beds very comfortable. It was truly excellent & quiet. Plenty shops nearby and bus stop outside, with frequent service to centre of Funchal. No internet in the rooms. It was in the lobby but very very expensive. |

The staff were courtious and helpfull. There were no efforts to take more money from us above the agreed fees. A relaxing hotel. We had a problem of water leakage in the bathroom which could have been dealt with more sympathetically than it was. |

The hotel has 59 rooms and is personal and friendly. Most have wonderful sea views and if your budget can stretch book a junior suite you will not be disappointed. Staff were very helpful and cleanliness was excellent. Good variety of food for breakfast. |

The location was great and the views stunning. Having breakfast on the terrace was delightful. The room was comfortable and the service attentive. Too much piped music at breakfast. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel as there was very little choice for veterains. |

Relaxing and soberb balcony over the Ocean where to have lunch/dinner, not the ideal hotel for young kids. A bigger outside pool would be nice. |

These people understand that it's more about customer service than just providing room space. Execllent service by the hotel staff and the reception desk personel in particular! |

Very good service and room. Good location. I made 3 local phone calls of around one minute and the hotel charged EUR 5 per each. This price is well above any other hotel I have stayed. I think this is an important information to be mentioned on BOOKING web site. |

Comfortable, spacious room with lovely sea views. Pleasant promenade walks from the hotel, and easy access to the main places of interest via the public buses that stopped outside the hotel. Breakfasts were adequate with plenty of fresh fruit, but otherwise rather boring with the cooked items served almost cold and rather peculiar tasting coffee. A bit of a problem with ants on the balcony which frequently found their way into the room and bathroom. |

We found the hotel very comfortable and enjoyed our stay there. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was comfortable and quiet with a lovely view over the bay. Nice to have tea and coffee facilities available in the room. It was nice to be able to have breakfast on the resturant's veranda overlooking the bay. The courtsey bus to Funchal town was very useful. The hotel had little parking space available but were lucky to have one of the few places available. An extra charge should not have to be paid to use the safe in the room. |

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Warm reception, comfortable atmosphere, very clean. Small enough to be recognised after a few days. Good restaurant, nice indoor and outdoor pool, quiet location but very accessible. Plenty to see and do on foot, and good transport. Hotel shuttle, while not essential, was not available after 6 in the evenings. No internet in rooms, no wireless access, but one wired public computer (expensive) so don't plan on working! All very minor issues. |

The room and bathroom was spacious, comfortable and clean, approaching the 5 star category. The view to the ocean is marvelous and the surrounding of the hotel is beautiful. The hotel is close to a fine shopping center and several restaurants. We also liked the tennis court which was, however, not in walking distance (about 3 km), but in a nice park and was unbelievably inexpensive (E1.75 hourly). I did not like the unfriendly attitude of the receptionist man with whom we checked in and, incidentally, checked out (he even failed to give us a wake-up call early morning on the day of departing to the airport - luckily we woke up half an hour later and still reached our flight). All others working at the reception desk were very kind and helpful with information and advice. |

Very quiet location and our room was overlooking the sea. Size of Hotel (only 59 rooms). 25 minutes walk to Funchal or bus stop outside Hotel or use of courtesy Bus. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Wide selection of breakfast items to suit all tastes. The courtesy baggage room ensured we enjoyed our stay right up until the last minute. Would not hesitate to stay at this Hotel again. |

weather good; hotel quiet and relaxing; breakfast staff pleasant and breakfast hours sensible (until 10.30 am.) Hotel bar closed early, even for residents; charge for internet use out of proportion with currrent practice (free wireless access available almost everywhere else, including shoppping centre across the road;) Restaurant menu disappointingly restricted, although in line with others on the island. |
