Madeira Regency Club  

We loved the hotel. The room was super - we will book a sea-view next time because our room at the back did not get any sun at all - but it was still warm sitting on the small balcony and admiring the mountain views. Room size and facilities were excellent. Location was great - a short walk by the harbour to the centre of Funchal one way, and about the same distance to the lido area if your walked the other way. Pool area and bar was very nice indeed and right on the sea. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. We didn't use the Regency group bus at all, but got a return bus ticket on the airport bus as it's only a 400 hundred yards (downhill) from the bus stop and lots cheaper than a taxi if only 2 people.

The Madeira Regency Club hotel is very comfortable but I will never stay at the hotel again but has a number of shortcomings

We are now 12 years into a new century and any hotel that continues to charge 'in room' for wifi immediately loses my vote. I will advise all my colleagues and friends not to stay at the Madeira Regency Club hotel as long as it continues to charge for the use of wifi. Wifi is free in and around the reception area so why not 'in room'? Also we had a room overlooking the ocean and also a road leading to the port. I could deal with the road noise but just across from the hotel is a number of ventilation units and for 24-hours a day they are in operation. The hotel seems oblivious to the noise but for those with rooms overlooking the Atlantic Ocean there is no escaping the sound these fans generate. So, sorry a big 'No' to any further stay at the Madeira Regency Club hotel.

All staff very helpful. Good location in Funchal. Easy walking into centre. Clean hotel with good facilities.

This was our second visit to regency club.It is a pleasant walk to the town. We liked the spacious rooms,great views from our apartments.Breakfast was very good and staff were very pleasant.Overall we had a pleasant week and hope to return soon.+-+

God beliggenhed, herunder kort afstand til byen og ikke mindst den pragtfulde udsigt over havet.

Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Meer sowie die gute Erreichbarkeit des Zentrums (auch zu Fuß). Die Zimmer mit ihrem Meerblick und deren gute Ausstattung.

Das Frühstück entspricht nicht unbedingt einem 4-Sterne-Hotel, die Freundlichkeit einiger Mitarbeiter (speziell eines männlichen) ließ zu wünschen übrig!

Lamentablemente no tienen wifi en las habitaciones , solo en la recepción y estuve 4 dias sin internet

Во-первых, номер. Это фактически двухкомнатные апартаменты с двумя ванными по цене стандартного двухместного номера. Нам в какой-то степени повезло, у нас был большой балкон (10 х 3,5) на всю ширину корпуса, с него вид и на горы, и на море. Такие номера есть по одному с торцевых сторон на этажах выше четвертого и, в восточном крыле до пятого, а в западном, по-моему, до восьмого. В остальных номерах балконы тоже есть, но существенно меньше. А на нашем можно было устраивать небольшие вечеринки человек на пятнадцать. Во-вторых, расположение. Собственный выход к морю, с противоположной стороны выход к стильному Парку Екатерины, и при этом всего в десяти минутах шагом до центра.

Главный минус - обещаемого на сайте бассейна с подогревом нет. Более того, в январе вода в бассейне была даже холоднее, чем океане. Еще одна вещь, которую можно посчитать минусом - это, когда лень идти в город шагом, приходится вызывать такси, так как до ближайшей остановки автобуса надо идти метров двести вверх по склону.

Relatief klein hotel, gesitueerd vlak bij het centrum van Funchal. Erg prettig en hulpvaardig personeel.

Nette Atmosphäre mit sehr entspannten (überwiegend älteren englischen) Gästen, wirklich grosszügige Räume (Studio), schön nah an Funchal gelegen, toller Blick auf Meer und Hafen

Einige Einrichtungen "have definitely seen better times" (Zitat einer Lady), Küchenschrank verliert sein Furnier, Teppich ist schon ein wenig ramponiert, Badezimmerarmaturen sind ordentlich verschrammt aber funktionieren gut , fast alle Kiegen am Pool sind angebrochen......und die "poolboys" sind im falschen Beruf : Poolservice bis 17.30 --17.20: das Handtuch von gestern können sie nochmal benutzen, ein neues bekommen sie nicht mehr...und tschüss!!!! Dasselbe gilt leider für einen der Kellner beim Frühstück: erstmal mache ich mir selber einen Teller Frühstück fertig und dann erkläre ich einer alten Dame lautstark wie sie tropfende Kannen zu handeln hat....und nicht, dass ich sie etwa bediene!!! Falscher beruf!!!!

Ligging, direct aan zwembad en atlantische oceaan. Vriendelijkheid en zorgzaamheid personeel.

Le "breakfast"est satisfaisant,mais la plage d'horaires n'est pas suffisante;il faudrait qu'il débute à 7h30,au lieu de 8h00.
