the area it was quite and relaxing and the local beach was wonderful

really should not be a 4 star no tea making facilities and the indoorpool was frezing . the main bug bear was the fact that the tv in the room had no english channels and hotel advertises satillite tv.

I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend and we had great 6 days. I used and appreciated reviews from these pages so thought I would jot down my thoughts. Some of the comments that appear from reviewers include the following points: 1. Not a 4*. Well, it isn’t, really. It feels a little dated with the carpets in the hallway, room-decor and wooden furniture.... but it does have a indoor pool, Jacuzzi, gym (only a rower, bike, ski-style machine, and multi-gym weights all in one device) and free Wi-Fi (although, this wasn’t always working and isn’t amazingly quick but.....it’s better than nothing). The hotel was just over £100 per night for the 2 of us, and with breakfast included (which I thought was great; large variety, all you can eat and sausage, bacon & eggs if you want)...is good value. :D 2. The location.....It is quiet. Being a small hotel there’s not much bustle. A drink at the bar is more likely to be on your own than with hoards of revellers. But we liked that. The pool area was nice and overlooks the sea. It’s about 700m/8min walk down the hill to a picturesque beach, which was brilliant because it was fairly small and un-crowded like the main Albufeira one and had bar/restaurant/toilet facilities. There is a shop/bar and Chinese restaurant a few minutes walk away. To get into Albufeira the staff will call you a taxi which costs about €8. 3. Staff were very good. The young male receptionist had a particularly good manner about him and helped us a great deal to get to the airport in time for our return flight when the transfer taxi booked the previous day failed to turn up. Overall a good value, relaxing stay. Obrigado! :D

Good setting with all the facilities you require

Good location for Sao Rafael area, hot breakfast available, friendly helpful staff, quiet room with sea view. Did not try evening menu /food, ample parking, local bus service.

Town facilities not within walking distance, bus, taxi or hire car required if you want town facilities.

The hotel is very nice, has pretty rooms, a friendly design. The staff is helpful and very polite, parking places are located in front of the hotel, only hotel guests are allowed to park there. The Breakfast buffet is big and offers hardly everything for any taste! There are two completely different beaches to visit, just 5 minutes by foot away, the one is beautiful but small, the other one is big, also very nice but more crowded.

A car is highly recommanded to get to the city of abufeira, it takes you 5-10 minutes there by car. A bus is also available, but the intervals are about one hour.

hotel is clean, staff are friendly, quiet near to the beach and not too far from town. we had room facing to the pool and the sea.

nothing really....just wish this hotel is a lit bit nearer to town....

All the staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were spacious and maintained to a very high standard.The facilities were excellent of which we made the most of. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and hopefully will be back next year.

Although we enjoyed our stay if I was forced to pick a fault with the hotel it would be the location at the top of the steep hill.This did not stop us enjoying our stay.

Outside pool needs an update, shape of pool poor overcrowded when only 5 or 6 six adults in at same time difficult for proper swim, inside pool no attendant or lights on

The terrasse of the room with view on the sea even if it's 10 mns walking to put your feet in the water :-) 3 swimming pools (1 inside)

The breakfast was really poor especially if you eat sweet (salted is not very rich neither anyway but at least you can ask for fried eggs)

The day before we arrived we realised that we would not be able to get there by the official end of check in time 18:00. I emailed them at 23:00h to let them know following morning. From our arrival we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff. They made us feel very welcome.

Hotel was a good experience-large comfortable room with good air-cond. Older hotel that has been upgraded -still could use a little more modernization in places(new carpets-wardrobes-gardens improved- plasterwork outside)-room was also very quiet and well insulated(we stayed in 114-recommend this room!!)-breakfast buffet was also good-but get their early-as a lot of the better stuff runs out fast!! We liked it so much we will book again!!

Carpets need changing-would be good to have kettle and tea making facilites in room-some tiles missing in larger outdoor swimming pool-and the shade umbrellas outside are looking pretty battered and tired- gardens could do with a little bit of a spruce up.
