In a historic building of central Funchal, Monte Carlo features a large elevated terrace and roof-top pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only 165 ft from the Cruzes Museum. Rooms at Hotel Monte Carlo are equipped with cable TV channels and private bathrooms. Some open out on to a French balcony with stunning views of the city and the ocean, others provide a kitchen with dining area. The in-house restaurant looks out on to the mountains and serves rich local cuisine and regional wines. In the mornings, the hotel serves a buffet breakfast prepared with fresh ingredients. The hotel offers a great view over Madeira from the breakfast room. In the sunny days it's great to catch a table near the window and feel the early sun rays on your face. The orange juice could be better, but it's ok. The staff was excellent. Before our last night the guy at the reception desk was kind enough to ask if we were leaving at dawn the next day as he could prepare us something to eat before checking out. The hotel as a very reduced private parking space. 4 or 5 cars max. And if you park there you should leave your car keys in the front desk. Sometimes they need to move some cars so that others can leave. In the shower, the hot water tends to take a little bit too much time to appear and the water pressure could be better. The bedroom floor makes some noises, since the wood is old, but not so much of a problem.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Around the clock open reception. Perfect location in the city centre (a bit uphill though). The room seemed a bit old. There was not wi fi in all rooms.

The design of the hotel is amazing, feels so special. We walked there with our bags from the centre of Madeira. It's a long way up hill. I would recommend taking a taxi, would be much easier.

'Old world charm' - jak ktoś trafnie ujął. Przepięknie położony hotel, wspaniała atmosfera.Basen na dachu. Bardzo przyjazny I pomocny personel (rozdzieliłem kilkudniową rezerwację na dwie różne bez żadnych problemów). Jeśli jeszcze kiedyś będę w Funchal z pewnością wrócę! Dobre śniadania, jednak można by je trochę urozmaicić (brak warzyw) hotel położony na końcu jednej z najbardziej stromych ulic w mieście, oznacza to 10 minutowe wyczerpujące podejście pod górę (to absolutnie nie minus, bo widoki są piękne - jednak przestroga dla rodzin z dziećmi czy osób starszych - lepiej wziąć taxi)

Allt, prisvärt. Mycket bra läge samt otroligt tillmötesgående personal. Hotellet är lite till åren kommen så förvänta inte lyx. Men en otrolig charm. Se till att få ett rum i hotellets huvudbyggnad med havsutsikt Bokningen via booking.com registrerades som suite för hotellet när vi bokat ett rum med 1 dubbelsäng och havsutsikt med balkong. Det blev ett rum med 3 enkelsängar, balkong och utsikt över polen. Tack ock lov så var personalen fantastiskt tillmötesgående och fixade det galant.

A fachada do edificio principal e a vista sobre a cidade. Quando efectuei a resertva nao fui avisado que o quarto se situava nos anexos do edificio principal. Quarto de difcil acesso para bagagens, com escadas pelo exterior, sem acesso por elevador. O quarto cheirava a mofo. A casa de banho não tem uma unica tomada electrica. Não repetirei a experiência.
