Convenient and comfortable
The weather could've been better for the fantastic view from the terrace. Lol
Very well located close to the village center. Staff were exceptional. Reasonably quiet considering being so close to main road. Terrace is amazing and is a must in summer time.
A fair amount of stairs wich were no problem at all for me but i advise senior visitors to request a room at main house ground level. I would also have liked to try the restaurant but it was closed for the season.
Hotel Sintra was excellent value all round. The service from all staff was outstanding; nothing was too much trouble and they always went the extra mile to help out, with a smile. The room was our selection from two available and we obviously made the right choice with the room not on the street front because we were very comfortable and it was very quiet. Breakfast had plenty of selection and eating on the terrace was delightful. Evening drinks on the terrace were a highlight after a long day of walking. The walk into the old town was easy and enjoyable taking about 15/20minutes so we were able to go there for dinner and return home. We were debating about commuting to Sintra but very glad we stayed in this beautiful town to soak up the atmosphere and didn't want to leave!
The staff are genuinely working to make sure you have a nice stay. They went out of their way to accommodate all my needs.
good location, friendly staff, the hotel is small and cute which gives you a "comfy" and "homely" atmosphere.
Breakfast could close a little bit later... 10am is too early for someone who doesn't want to set up an alarm.
The terrace, he staff, the breakfast
Nice hotel, terrific terrace overlooking the moorish castle and the city, very good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay.
Nothing, all was good.
We arrived around 7 am (1 am for us). We were able to get a room and buy tickets for a tourist bus to see the sights (and sleep on the bus here and there). Enjoyed a drink on the lovely patio. The super helpful staff suggested an excellent restaurant for dinner .
The facilities including the bathroom and bedroom were spacious and nice. I liked the decor and the staff was very helpful. Its about a 15 minute walk to the historic center, but far enough away for quiet and easy parking.
We had an early flight and breakfast wasn't served until 7:30 on the weekend. Otherwise, this place was great.
The patio is a terrific place to relax and take in the views. Staff were super helpful and kind. Less than a 5min walk from the station and away from the chaos of the old town.
The staff were particularly friendly and helpful.
quiet location, elevated position. Not to close to the town, but easy walk.Outstanding breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff
great Location very good staff
Liked it all
The architecture of the hotel, and the terrace, with some amassing views of the "Castelo de Mouros". The staff was very nice and the breakfast was it also.
Nothing in particular
Wonderful service, could not do enough for us. Short walk from city centre, very clean, comfortable.
Location, comfortable, accommodating and helpful staff. nice breakfast and drinks bar.
No parking, however the manager parked our car for us in a free parking zone around the corner while we went to lunch.
Friendly old family run hotel that cares about its business and seems genuinely happy to look after its guests. Nice room size and view from the window. Close enough to historical centre (10 mins) and 5 mins from famous tram to the beach.
No negative points. This is a two star hotel so you shouldnt expect fancy fixtures but I enjoyed my stay here better than a 4 star hotel booked in the Algarve which wasnt worth the money.
Everything within walking distance. Very pleasant helpful staff and good value. Staff recommended some excellent restaurants. We travelled by train, taxi or bus so parking not an issue for us.
Breakfast could be improved upon, but in terms of value for money, that's more of an observation than a complaint.
This hotel is run by cheerful, dedicated, knowledgeable people - Rey, Luis and Domingo - who are fluent in a variety of languages. My ground floor, back side room was quiet and comfortable. The terrace is large, attractive and comfortably furnished, with both sunny and leafy, shady areas and a good view of the mountaintop Moorish castle. Breakfast was delightful, with gracious touches - cloth napkins in napkin rings - and a variety of hot and cold items, including fresh fruit and homemade croissants, cake and bread. The hotel's location is particularly convenient for those arriving by train - a five-minute walk to the right as you exit the station's front door - and buses which circulate between the main tourist attractions can be found just outside the station. It's a 1+-kilometer, pleasant walk to the historic center; shops, cafés, restaurants and parks can be found along the way.
There was nothing to dislike. The hotel and Sintra are both delightful - I only regret that I didn't have more than three nights to spend here. I would love to return.
Whilst the hotel was clean and tidy, the staff helpfully and the food good, you should be aware that the car parking is a problem. During the day it is pay and display. After 8pm it is free. There are streets you can park for free during the day but spaces are hard to find. Having said this, the hotel location was great for the sights in the area and for catching a train into Lisbon.
The hotel and terrace were amazing! Great breakfast! Owner Bernardo was very kind, helpful! Would definitely return!
Lovely staff and so helpful. The owner even offered to go to the mobile phone shop for me when I was having a phone crisis. The chambermaids were smiley and happy too, obviously a nice place to work. Breakfast was terrific and healthy with lots of fruit/dried fruit/quality juices. We had a room on the ground floor at the back, which was a little dark, but we appreciated the location when the outside temperature rose but the room remained cool.
Nightmare to find! Parking is difficult everywhere in Sintra, and 4 hour maximum meters. A few free parking spaces opposite the hotel, which everyone scrambles for. However, the first narrow lane next to the hotel going downhill has no parking restrictions, but the hotel do not mention it because it is narrow and you could get your wing mirror clipped if you forgot to push it in. Wi-fi doesn't work as soon as you step on to the terrace. Shame as it is the perfect place to sit with a coffee and plan your next day.
The owner and staff are what makes this hotel a 5 star. Fabulous patio with views of the castle. Comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast. Bernardo sets up a beautiful breakfast area and is so helpful. We would recommend this location and would love to return.
The hotel staff were wonderful - very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the patio is lovely, and location perfect - we parked the car when we arrived and walked everywhere.
We loved it, and can't think of anything we did not like.
