Weather,surroundings,charm of the Old Village.
It was tranquil in low season with beautifully tended gardens. Still warm enough to sit outside for breakfast. Excellent value for money. Staff were very helpful, including hiring bikes.
Only one cafe open for eating, but this is because it was December. Our specific apartment would be noisier in peak season.
Nothing missing in kitchen
We could walk to Vilamoura marina in 15/20 minutes. There are restaurants on site. Princess garden was very good. Pool nice but you had to pay for sun beds. Our roof top terrace was lovely.
Our apartment wss overlooking the main square which some may love but we found noisy. Would ask to be in a quiet area if we returned. Huge cockroach. Pillows did not smell great.
The staff were very friendly and couldn't do more to help. The location is quiet which was just what we were looking for, only a 10 minute walk down to the marina and a taxi back on an evening was about 4 euros. Will definitely be visiting again :)
I have stayed many times at the Old Village and always enjoy our stay. The location is within easy walking distance of the Marina. The apartments are always good value and there is a good selection of cafes and restaurants. Great base for golf.
The location was ideal. Plenty of golf courses close by.
Our apartment was above a bar however as we went out of season it wasn't too noisy!
Pretty complex Lovely pools Accommodation clean and in good condition Quite location but close enough to walk into Marina
Lovely setting. Very clean and well kept. Nice walk to marina.
Reception closes very early. 5.30 or 6.00 pm.
Quiet, noisy behaviour is frowned upon! Rules of the complex... Great restaurant with veranda overlooking the pool - excellent staff and a great barman who is the absolute best Gin and Tonic maker! Will I go back? Absolutely..still more variations to try!
All good really... I would say that the village is more suitable for couples rather than a busy family holiday with the children but still a very nice location.
Good kitchen. Good shower. Decent location 20 minute walk from marina. Decent restaurants and bars on site. Small supermarket on site.
Tired decor and furnishings in apartment 20 bc can't speak for the other apartments.
Apartment was great overall. Pool was lovely. Area was lovely. Wifi around entire village.
Bed was 2 single beds pushed together. For a couple, we could not get comfortable. Needed a double bed! Wifi didn't work in many areas of apartment. Old village not really ideal place for a young couple, more of a golfing, older people place.
The apartment was very nice indeed, and the location was perfect for us. Every member of staff we spoke to were so friendly.
The lack of mirrors in the bedrooms. 6 ladies getting ready for a night out was a bit of a problem with no full length mirror in the apartment.
Everything was perfect. The environment is beautiful.
I love the location and the apartments are very comfortable. pools are plentiful and not over crowded. grounds are well kept.
check is at 11.am and unfortunatly there are no toilet or changing facilities for anyone that has a late flight. our pickup was at 18.30 and there was no where for us to change only toilet in onsite bar which were not really adaquate.
Liked the area. Liked how well maintained and clean the surrounding areas were.
when we arrived it was night. only for our transfer guy from airport was helpful we would have been waiting for ages for key. Then we had to try and find our accommodation which was crazy. There were 3 couples on our holiday and it took forty mins to get sorted. Its not good enough to have no one to assist you to ur place. Didnt have linen changed for full week. Towels were only changed twice.
Good facilities, clean, and easy to use.
Previous guest had broken pans, and pots, there was no kettle for hot drinks, Kitchen needed a restock and
Great location, with the option of a short walk to the marina or if you fancy not travellering out there were plenty of lovely restaurantsand bar in the village.
It was a beautiful place to stay. You could get all the facilities you need on site. Appartment was lovely. Ground floor had large kitchen and living room area with TV which had Irish and British programmes if you wanted to keep in touch with the world. 1st floor had three bedrooms (one with bathroom) and another bathroom. On the second floor was outside lounge area. Very nice.
Air conditioning was very noisy. Our apartment was up over over one of the bars and it often did not get quiet until 2 -3 am.
- close to faro airport (30 minutes drive)
Extremely tired apartment in need of care and not inline with what we though we were buying Awful location of the apartment (above a pub/restaurant) and by the main 'square' Broken cotbed, paid for! Equipment/utensils in the kitchen was in such poor condition that it made it almost impossible to cook (no wine glasses on first night, 3 pans, one of them leaking and all scratched, two cereals bowls for 6 beds etc...). No enough sun bed around the swimming pool. All of them taken by 8:30/9:00
The grounds were lovely and really clean and pretty
The fact you couldn't use all 4 pools without paying
Very well kept.peaceful and lovely holiday place
Not enough sun beds round pool
Staff were friendly Cheap
You get what you pay for so I shouldn't complain but this certainly wasn't luxury.
Actual village pretty and well maintained. Easy walk to Villamaura Shop, bars and restaurant on site Studio was on Central square so convenient for shop, restaurant etc but ......
Studio was on Central square so noisy until 1am every night. Studio was tired and dated and in need of general updating and modernisation. Only bathroom was modern. Beds were old and one was propped up with wood! The bedding, though clean, smelt fusty and I ended up washing the sheets and mattress cover before I could sleep on them.
Location and style of the village
Tv was old and no sky news, sport etc
