“It was my husband's 60th birthday so wanted some where special. The hotel delivered on all fronts and even went as far as delivering champagne to our excellent room on his special day. We shall certainly stay again and recommend the hotel to our friends. The staff are delightful and so helpful and friendly.”

Hotel was excellent.I had said it was our anniversary and we had a complimentary bottle of bubbly in our room when we arrived which was much appreciated. Terrace was lovely especially at night sitting overlooking Lisbon.Breakfast good as well. Reception staff spoke very good English and were very helpful. Only small point seats on terrace were for lounging in the sun and not for sitting enjoying a drink and a chat. Also the hill it is on is certainly steep may not be for everyone, trams going up and down help, but they were always packed.

The hotel has a great location and wonderful staff. Our room was very comfortable with a big balcony. Breakfast was also very good with plenty choice. We all really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. The walk to the castle is best if you go right as you exit of the hotel. Three restaurants are off to the left as you exit the hotel. We ate in Costa do Castelo and had a good meal. We also ate in the hotel.Be sure to do tram 28 and try the custard tarts !

Is a fair four star hotel, friendly personnel, clean rooms but it was a persistent smell of dampness when the air condioning is turned off. The location is awful. The whole area smells of dampness and decomposed garbage. Nearby houses are almost in ruin and the streets are filthy and poorly illuminated.

Pleasant stay. Helpful staff. Nice view of the castle which was just a short walk away and worth a visit. Similarly the cathederal and crypt were within walking distance and worth a visit. Fun to use the trams to get in and out of town. Out of rush hour the 28E tram only took 15 mins to get to the Barrio Alto for where we found a wonderful restaurant and fado club. Nearby restaurant choice was somewhat restricted. A bit off the beaten path. Beware of pick-pockets on the crowded trams.

Beautiful room with terrace. Great views. Breakfast very nice. Staff very helpful and polite. Port with compliments was very good. Tea making kit very pleasant. Pillows cheap and uncomfortable. Hotel in very scruffy area but to be fair it did not seem dangerous. It was a very long climb up to to hotel from the city centre.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Olissippo Castelo. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The location is great in that it's close to the castle and very quiet. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.

There were two people at the front desk who made our stay very special. They are Joana and Vitor. They patiently answered all questions and recommended excellent site to see and restaurants. They also remembered our names and addressed us by them when we spoke. Also, the terrace outside our room (302) was a wonderful place to relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day. While the terrace was wonderful, the chaise lounges were uncomfortable and difficult to get out of. We spoke to our neighbors on the next terrace and they had the same problem.

Nice hotel with great views, comfortable beds and very helpful and friendly staff. Arranged a hire car to be delivered to the hotel within a day's notice and also picked up. Got taxis at a moment's notice and gave me a free bottle of champagne for my birthday at no charge. Breakfast was good and there's a great little local restaurant on the corner less than a minute away and close to trams and an easy walk into the city centre. Good price for a three night stay. Towels were a bit hard and wi-fi signal a bit weak but these are very minor complaints.

The staff was awesome. Super friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotless. The breakfast buffet was was very good with a nice variety of foods. There are a number of nice restaurants within a 5 or 10 minute walk and the castle was also only a few minutes away. The location was very quite at night. I thought the 50 euro deposit for the room safe key was annoying. Other than that, no complaints.

It was clean and the frontdesk staff were friendly enough. I do not believe it can be a 4 star hotel. The towels are thin and well used, but clean. We specially booked the superior room, but it was not anything like it shows on the internet. The kids room was actually bigger than ours but had 2 beds in it, but a lot cheaper. I saw many other 4 star hotels in the area and this does not compare to that at all. The breakfast is not wonderful and stays exactly the same every morning. The coffee is awful. The cooked food and coffee taste like it was made the previous day.

Great furniture in the room. Very good breakfast. Walls are a bit sound conducting. The hotel is on a narrow street on a hill, but nothing that a taxi or ability to walk can¨t deal with.

Excellent location in the old town overlooking Lisbon. Nice room with a terrace and a view. No restaurant in the hotel. Squeeky bed meant we did not sleep too well. Rather expensive (145 euros/night in November).

The staff were especially nice and helpful in every way! I would choose to stay at Olissippo Castelo again and will recommend your hotel to family and friends. The price and location were great. Even though I was in meetings at the Congress Center for most of my time in Lisbon, I felt like I got to experience a bit of the city and people by staying at your hotel. The walls are a bit thin (not much you can do about that, though) so could hear showers, toilets and voices. Fortunately the other guests on my floor were mostly quiet, so was not a big problem.

The place is very unique on the castle hill, around 10 minutes to walk down some (steep) stairs arriving in the city centre. The large room with glas front allows to admire the great view in north direction. The interiors have a somewhat british touch with thick rugs on he floor, old style wallpaper, heavy sofas/chairs and rich courtains. The large bathroom is really nice with marble tiles. I prefere shower, but the bath tub allows showing too. The breaktfearst was rich, but shows during 4 days no variation, serving the same hams and cheese, same fresh fruit salad, scambled eggs, and baked ham. Nevertheless they serve great cakes.

The friendlyness of the employees was outstanding. The location was great. The room size was good. Due to overboking we have been transfered to another hotel in a higher class. The organisation of this was well organised and managed. We always felt welcomed. From my point of view the rooms are too clairaudient. The breakfast area could be a little more invetational.

Location in a very interesting part of town, though the steep hills may not suit everyone. The friendly, professional service was outstanding. We were upgraded each time. Fantastic views, from spacious private balconies and terracies. Would have been perfect with a roof top swimming pool and gym or open exercise area.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was extremely clean. The view was amazing, overlooking the city, and the hotel was situated in a quiet street. The steep, cobble-stoned streets would be difficult for the elderly or disabled. However, taxis are cheap and easily available through the hotel.

Front of house staff welcoming and helpful, with good english. Room spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Good views from the private terrace. Ideally located for the castle and some other attractions. No separate shower cubicle so nasty shower curtain. Breakfast service understaffed. 'Bar/snack area' effectively non-existent, so aside from breakfast all meals taken outside. Location remote from city centre (and up a steep hill!).
