The reception staff were very friendly and happy to help recommending restaurants late at night. It was centrally located. |

Friendly staff, good english spoken, central location 1 minute from the metro. Having asked about the traveltime by metro to the airport I was told "25 minutes"- since there is first of all change of trains, which takes extra time and secondly the airport metro runs only every half hour (at least around 9 in the morning) it took me almost an hour and a half and I missed my plane. The staff should be made aware of this so that they can inform guests better on this point. |

The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. The pricing is good for a city centre hotel. There is level access for wheeled luggage. The breakfast room can get busy at times. |

Double room consisted of two rooms (could sleep 4) plus separate bathroom - probably an upgrade. Was excellent space and atmosphere. Close to the old centre of Porto, metro and train station. Pleasant experience. Good continental breakfast Slightly strange rule not to do clothes washing in the room since the hotel had a laundry (which charged) - if did washing this would incur a half day room charge. |

Room size, cleanliness, quiet situation. Reception staff spoke English very well and were polite. Easy access to city. The room, although fresh & clean was drab and dated. The lovely roof terrace in all the advertisements is only for the use of those in - I suppose - suites - on the 6th floor. All rooms do not have balcony as booking.com states. We had to stand in a queue for breakfast and when finally got a table it wasn't cleared or cleaned and we had to wait a further five minutes for various foods to be replenished, even then breakfast was merely palatable but very ordinary with little choice. The breakfast room is tiny and claustrophobic considering the size of the hotel. I complained to reception staff and they apologised. One Art Deco staircase does not a great hotel make. |

The location is of the hotel is the most important advantage as the sightseeing places are in walking distance. The price of the cradle should be indicated in the informationa bout the hotel. ıt only says that it is free for children below 2; however, we had to pay 10 euro por night for a cradle. I had reserved a twinbed room; but with the excuse of the cradle we were given a smaller room with a very small bed. It does not correspond with the pictures of the room available in the booking.com site. One last point: which hotel would not have an egg? We had trouble finding something to feed our child for breakfast. I cannot say it is particularly family friendly hotel. |

The hotel was very poor, the only good thing about the hotel was that the staff was excellent and the location was realy in the historical center. The hotel is outdated. |

Our room had a terras with an excellent view over a big square. The breakfast was rather basic and served in a too small room. |

Great location, nice and helpful personnel You could take key to any room you wanted, nobody has checked that. And the room for breakfast is too small - you need to wait in the line to get something to eat while someone else is taking his coffee... |

We changed the reservation from 2 to 4 people the day before the arrival. We were told all the rooms were already booked for that night, but eventually they provided us with a very nice two-room suite. Beautiful rooms with high ceilings, tall windows, friendly staff. Great location. |

Very good location, in the heart of Porto. You can reach everything by foot or metro. Big room, clean, good bed, and don’t forget the airco ! It only takes a minute to get used to the look of the old furniture, but who cares? Very kind and helpful staff! The breakfast is good if you only stay for a few nights; the little breads are daily fresh and there is plenty of food. But if you stay for more than a few days, you don’t want to see anymore ham or cheese... A little variation in the breakfast would help to have "the" perfect stay. |

The view from the balcony outside my room was beautiful, and the staff was helpful. I found the room very small, though the shared balcony made up for it to some extent, and the furnishings were a bit dull and dated. I would have enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony, however that was not allowed. |

Staff at the front desk were very helpful. The location was excellent a 2 minute walk to the town hall, excellent bus and metro links. 15 min walk to the water front or a couple of mins on the bus. The rooms were clean well maintained and had a much needed a/c in them. |

Lovely place. Staff was gracious, breakfast nice, bathrooms excellent. The hotel had a distinctive old world charm. We had a great stay. The terrace did not seem to be open for most guests--or for any. |

The Grande Hotel do Porto is located downtown, right at the city centre, where it enables its guests to immediately taste Porto’s culture. |
Charming hotel, renovated in 2007, located in the centre of the city, close to public transport, shops (like the famous shopping street Rua Santa Catarina), monuments and the old town. |
