Very well situated in the Center of Porto. Near all the monuments. Comfortable room and cute terrace to have breakfast! I really liked the retro décor!!! I would have liked to stay one more night at least!!! Definitely would come back!!
Not warned no bar at this time of year
The bathroom was lovely and modern and the wifi strength was good. The vintage features were a great character feature and the hotel was in a good location for seeing different parts of Porto. Nice pastries at breakfast too!
The rooms were like being transported to the 1940s and it just wasn't comfortable. Dim lighting and no seating area to watch TV, etc. No facility to make a hot drink (unless you wanted to pay for one downstairs).
It was quiet. I liked the ambience & location. Breakfast was excellent & plentiful. Very good for a budget hotel. I would certainly return Loved the recommendation for Guaramy restaurant nearby. We went twice!
I just want Giselle to know that she erred when she told us that it was 18.5 euros for a taxi to the dock to board the ship for our cruise. We paid that not realizing that the meter showed 6-8 euros! We are experienced travelers, not amateurs. Please ascertain the correct amount for future travelers. Otherwise she was very helpful and charming & her English was excellent.
Very poor breakfast
Decor was interesting in being retro so not a boring Euro Hotel
Weather was wet, but suspect that was beyond the control of the Hotel!!!
Location + calm rooms
Old not so clean carpets. Breakfast buffet
Staff, location for city, quirky hotel with bumper cars in the lounge!
On arrival we were upgraded to king room with no extra charges a nice surprise. Coffee machine. Nice expresso.
The heavy rain.
Very helpful receptionist
Breakfast poot service and poor quality
Location convenient to walk to most attractions. Comfortable room. Great breakfast.
Bed was not that comfortable....but everything else was great!
This hotel reminds me of the Guggenhiem museum in NYC, the spiral, quite unique decoration, the breakfast is good.
The room is quite small but cozy, so it's ok, and they got a big terrace shared by four rooms.
Helpful, hospitable staff. Excellent breakfast. Ideal location.
The unspoilt history. Various forms of transport to get around the city and the vast number of port cellars. We found the portuguese very friendly and their English excellent. Would definitely consider a return trip
Pricing, location, all inclusive package, cleanliness, friendliness of staff.
Wi-Fi was fair and worked sporadically. Mattress hard and uncomfortable - not good for a good night's rest.
Quirky, old fashioned charm, nice roof terrace, reasonably central location near main centre, very helpful staff
Noisy at times ( both on and out), rudimentary accommodation, breakfast no more than adequate
everything was super.Very good breakfeast a lot of choice and enough the location perfect and the personnal very friendly the price ok
Warm friendly staff who were prepared to spend time actually talking to their customers and providing travel tips.Great to see a young staff enjoying their jobs. Excellent location Enjoyed breakfast on the open terrace.
Room 609 had paper thin walls....could hear loud snoring from Room 610 which prevented sleep. Despite being fairly large, the room was very dark and quite depressing. Would be worth spending the extra for a room with an individual terrace.
Friendly staff. Location.
The room in the booking was not the room we were given. We requested a superior double room, but were given a family room with old furniture. The room had a musty smell and the pillows were damp. The bed was small and very hard to sleep on. Limited selection for breakfast buffet. Poor value for money.
Excellent location in town near main transport routes. Room with terrace is great, if not the most scenic. 60s memorabilia slightly bizarre but memorable! Breakfast good value.Super value for money.Friendly and welcoming staff.
staff was very helpful, good location, room was enough big.
Very good location, within walking distance to major attractions, close to bus and tram stops as well as train station. Interesting, nostalgic decorations. Very kind and friendly staff. WiFi was free and worked very good.
The breakfast was very simple - one sort of canned ham and cheese, neither vegetables nor warm dishes... but you can have it on a terrace with a nice view. Musty smell, not insufferable but clearly perceptible while entering the room.
excellent & helpful staff, great location by metro, breakfast was a nice touch
This hotel was in an ideal posoition for exploring Oporto, very central and near bus , metro and train station. We asked for a 6th floor room so we had the use of the terrace outside our room. Had the weather been dry this would have been ideal for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. The reception staff were all very pleasant and willing to help with any questions or requests. The breakfast was adequate with sufficient choices. Parking is available at a cost of 12 euros a day at a covered car park at the end of the road.
The room is a bit tired looking and could do with a refurb. The room is also fairly small but fine if only staying for a couple of nights. The breakfast service was a bit haphazard, tables not cleared quickly enough and the buffet breakfast not replenished quickly enough. Two days in a row I went to get coffee and the machine was empty. Also there seemed to be a shortage of space for some clients to be able to sit and have their breakfast. Breakfast staff need to be better organised.
