Dated decor and furniture in room Cramped space for breakfast
The excellent location in old Porto. The very friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast, that included fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, assorted breads - among other things. An excellent hotel in the 3-star category.. I stayed 9 days at the Pão de Acucar .in September 2014.
Very central, within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Very clean and breakfast was good.
The room shown on my booking was not anything like to what i landed up with. The room i chose, Standard Double Room with Terrace, although smaller, was a lot more modern than the one i got...beware of this choice, you will be disappointed!! The furniture was so old and with a desperate need of revamping.
The location was the only good thing about the hotel.
We didn't mind the old furniture but they weren't just old, the smelled bad. The rooms smell like humidity and at one point randomly they would smell like sewage at night which was horrible. The beds are far too hard and very uncomfortable. Definitely a bad choice but it was the only available one in the location we wanted.
This hotel is very central. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others.
A little loud on Friday nights.
Bed was uncomfortable Poor breakfast Noise from rooms above
Odlična lokacija. Great location.
Soba mala, doručak skroman. Cenu ne opravdava ni odlična lokacija. Room small, modest breakfast. Price does not justify any great location.
I liked the uniqueness of the hotel--the public spaces and the rooms. It was great, I'd definitely stay again.
I wish we had more hangers.
Location of the hotel is really good.
Breakfast is poor. Double bed is small.
Helpful staff central location Art Deco theme in hotel including lovely staircase and wooden banister.
Staff on reception extremely helpful. Stylish and quickly decorum was charming. Breakfast on the terrace,a great start tot the day.
Wifi was a bit flaky. Often difficult to connect.
Location, staff, quirkiness. Second time we have stayed here.
Would like to see more local fruit for breakfast.
Friendly helpful staff
Noise in the streets
Good Location Comfortable bed Breakfast was OK
Sewage smeel in the bathroom
The shower was very small
Really nice friendly staff, all of them. Nice interesting decor with the furniture and bumper cars throughout the place. Good breakfast. Nice roof terrace day and night. We're given a room with a terrace also. Perfect location close to nice places to eat and drink, but in a quiet street, and a short walk to the water. Stayed in 5* Sheraton in Porto for 2 nights before this with work and Pao de Acucar was much better in that I felt like we were in Porto in a place with character.
Room a bit small, but liked it all the same. We only slept there and poured a couple drinks there to have on our terrace.
The recepcionist was very helpful
Hard to park, the facilities are starting to be old
Location is excellent! Right next to a very lively nightlife area and restaurants.
Helpfull staff, vinrage style, great roof terrace...
Location is convenient, close to the center and metro stations. Breakfast room is nice, but breakfast itself could be better.
I got a very small room, poorly furnished. The first time I stayed at this hotel, I found the decoration interesting. Now, I just found it old and boring.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast even is the dining area gets a bit crowded. Wi-Fi free.
Great location with an interesting style. Enjoyed our stay there.
It's noisy. Not sure if it's because the hallway/stairs creates an echo or it's because the walls are thin
The two desk clerks were exceptional. They sincerely contributed to making my stay in Porto an enjoyable one.
Very hospitable staff, responded to all our requests. Excellent location.
Rooms need renovation (carpets, furniture...). A bit smelly, probably due to the old carpets. Rooms not spacious enough, can hardly place your suitcase. Breakfast might be improved.
