room a little small but not too bad
Breakfast Old furniture, old hotel
Good location in city centre, Friendly staff
Beds are a bit hard
Great location, helpful friendly staff, nice terrace, interesting design
-Booking failure: Although I have booked a room 22 days prior the check-in date, hotel receptionist told me that an error occured with that booking that's why they had to transfer me in a different hotel which I wouldn't pick that one on my own will in the first instace. Besides Pao de Acucar Hotel informed me the one they have booked as a replacement would be having the same level of service and benefits, I realized later on that the new hotel was having lower specs then the original one I had booked). -Receptionist doesn't speak English (that's why he called someone who speaks English fluently on the phone to be able to explain the situation) and doesn't understand English either
Noisy, old, unfriendly staff!!
Nothing!! Avoid this hotel!
Breakfast was rather basic and dull.
Nice and clean room, friendly and helpful stuff, located in the centre, close to transportation and main attractions.
Very nice collection of antique items placed in the lobby and along the stairs. Terrace rooms are the must! Good breakfast, superb terrace view!
The bathroom was not very private, there was only a glass door separating it from the room. The room had a bad smell that we believed came from the carpet. We thought it was due to the humidity from the bathroom. Every time we left the room, we had to leave the window open, otherwise the smell would be terrible! Apart from that, we had a nice experience.
The location was good, next to Avenida dos Aliados and a 10 min walk from the Douro river. The breakfast was simple, but tasted nice. The room was cozy, good-sized and quiet. The front desk people was very nice to us and polite.
Bath cabin in room only and with sliding glas door. Only one wine glass in room, second day glasses are not cleaned and still not completed
Nice interior and design on the building inside. Very friendly staff.
I felt like i stepped back in time. I loved the antiques! We stayed in a two bedroom room it was nice. The furniture was outdated but that is what is unique about this hotel. Location is excellent and parking is just around the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I would stay here again.
Very poor service, no help available when needed, eg. Hot water, lights. Laundry service was terrible and you're not allowed to do your own in the room or you'll be charged half day! Laundry/ pressing was not returned on time and was still damp.
Location was the best part of this place.
Value for money package with daily breakfast. Hotel location was walking distance to rests and public transportation
Everything was great, the only thing which we didn't enjoy was the firmness of the matras. But I suppose that's down to preferance.
Cleanliness especially the bathroom, location, size of the room (we had the superior double it was great value). Breakfast.
Breakfast could be a bit better.
Unique original features - staircase - Friendly staff - Good value- Better than a typical "euro" hotel - near to metro - fast access to airport and all parts of town .
Coffee tastes stained and not fresh
The location and the stuff
Balcony in the room
However, the TV screen is too small and its placement is too high.
The location and all the staff are excellent. The room is clean and enough confortable. The decoration in the hotel is orignal. By the way, the Porto is a beautiful city and people there are impressively nice!
Small breakfest room
Location was perfect, just in the centre of the city. Staff very friendly and supportive.
Breakfast vero avverare and fornitures a bit old
Great position and stuff very friendly
The breakfast was basic with only one type of ham and one type of cheese, although this may be the norm in Portugal. There were however all the usual breakfast items. We are used to German hotels with a wide selection of meat and cheese.
The cost of the hotel and only two minutes from the centre. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The staff and room staff were very friendly and helpful.
Service and quality of the breakfast could be improved ...
I liked the architecture, the location and the decor a lot
Slow drain of shower, heavy beddings/duvet, soft pillows and intermittent wifi
Good location, breakfast and great value for money.
Nice hotel big rooms
