This resort is located near Cabanas, a fishing village on the border of Ria Formosa Natural Reserve. It offers 2 pools, tennis courts, a bowling alley and massage services.

Vila Galé Albacora is a 4-star resort, in the middle of Ria Formosa Natural Park. It is close to the Island of Tavira and a 15-minute drive from Faro Airport.
Score from 229 reviews Good
Surrounded by ancient trees and lush grounds, Monte Da Eira features an outdoor pool and tennis court. It is located in Quinta do Morgado, just one mile from Tavria Beach.
Score from 446 reviews Very good
good place to stay villas are set apart with good areas of lawn to sit at the back .quite and relaxing. Good eating restaurant in the fishing village next door and train down to the beach. Tavira interesting place to visit more than once
Internet only in reception area
No internet in rooms
Location, the beach, the resort, the houses
the swimming pool is too small for the size of the resort and tall people may find the beds too short (not my case...)
1.The spread of the complex and sufficient parking spaces. 2.The surrounds - lawn, pathways are well kept.
1.The narrow steps leading up to our unit and was quit risky carrying our luggage up the steps especially in the dark. 2. There was no electric kettle for boiling water to make coffee/tea, and it had to be requested. I would think this a very basic kitchen appliance since there was a toaster and even utensils to do baking. 3. The housekeeping was done about 5pm in the evening which was a bit inconvenient since that's when we got back from the beach and needed to use the shower etc. 4. The gel/shampoo and toilet paper were running out but the housekeepers had to be told to refill them. 5. The reception staff do not smile. They act very mechanical when dealing with guests.
Very Green and spacious. The old olive trees (some with many centuries of life) are remarkable. Location is great, the old train service to the beach is a must Pool is very nice.
In some days, Zumba class with loud music so close to the pool.
the apartment. very uncomfortable mattresses. the apartments need to be renovated.
Quiet, green resort in east Algarve, not a high rise in sight. Perhaps best compliment is that it was 95% Portuguese families. 10 min walk to a beautiful sandy beach Bar, shops have what you need. Roomy enough apartment. Resort restaurant food was good.
Twin beds, no double. Resort cafe food hit and miss.
Staff in Bar Nora were efficient and friendly.
Neighbouring apartment having bathroom refit caused drilling noises from 9:10 am : 10pm for 3 days Symapthetic cleaners who were equally appalled at neighbour's bathroom activities. Whole place needs either demolishing/refurbishing or turning into a museum showing how people used to have holidays in the 1970s. Black old fashioned furniture is clunky and dysfunctional; cramped kitchen with saucepans stored on top of cupboards - you are 2m tall aren't you? Cockroach colony living behind doorframe in the bathroom and ants pretty much everywhere else, even in the bed at times Bathroom floor so old and eroded that there was more cement than tiles left in places. Caged birds kept in concrete pen treated as attraction is not acceptable in 21st century. On site restaurant is expensive, of mediocre quality and inefficiently run - try the nearby St Luzia for far better food (excluding the Tapas bar though) Road markings and signage is terrible and difficult to know what is a parking and what is the road in the village which probably explains why every car has a dent in it. Internet only in reception which is long way from apartment.
pool area nice
no aircon bed basically a fold out sofa
Location, environment, beach.
Furniture (old and not very clean). The apartment was booked for three but only two had a proper bed!
I have been coming here for over 30 years. A more peaceful, unpretentious place you will not in the eastern Algarve. Staff are kind and efficient. The nearby beaches are clean and quiet. You can't go wrong if you come here!.
I loved how environmentally friendly the facility is, with all the possibilities to recycle and to rent bikes and live eco-friendly. I really felt in contact with nature, woke up with birds singing and went to the beautiful beach passing by fantastic views of the village gardens, flowers and surrounding wetlands. Really appreciated all the benefits of the facility, the well kept gardens and the convenience of the train that brings to the beach. Loved also the bar and the tennis court, just 5 euro per hour! Very very beautiful and relaxing.
Superb natural location, fair access to regular urban facilities, good preservation/adaptation after 40 years
Weekend open air musical animation
The kindness of the reception.
The very poor cleaning of the apartment. The distance between the apartment and the beach without sidewalks. The bekfast was very poor. After 30 minutes from opening the fruit had already gone, and they do not replace. Coffee is not included for breakfast.
The apartment was dark and cave like........and not totally clean. If we had been traveling with children we would have rejected the room completely as the 'beds' we're a botched attempt at bunks inside a cupboard! The top bunk was reached by a rickety ladder with screws protruding by an inch each side....The kitchen had no kettle, toaster (nor grill)....The only reason we stayed without complaint is due to the fact that we loved the location.
The location near Praia de Barril.
No dish soap to wash dishes.
i would like a double bed that the only flaw city ireland monica
There was very little to commend this location I'm afraid. Ants all over the kitchen, musty and incredibly dated decor, cheap furnishings, poorly equipped, bad signage and a general sense of decay. No direct route to the sea in the evenings. Not our cup of tea at all.
Close to the beach (a tiny train takes you to Praia do Barril)
Studio Appartments a little outdated
Friendly helpful staff
Restaurant/ food should be better
Unique design of accomodation
I love the location and the openness of the space. Barril Beach is just down the trailway, and as hotel guests you have free passes to the small train, which is nice.
We were overcharged for my son's breakfast - the breakfast option is 8€ which includes a full food tray with egg, yoghurt, fruit salad, etc. We were never given a full tray for my son as he'd certainly not eat it all, and were given a bowl of cereals plus milk. When paying, we were charged 24€, the full 3 days breakfast, for the cereals. I complained and was told by a very unfriendly old lady at the reception desk that as my reservation was made via booking.com she'd not be able to change the charge, which is obviously BS. I expressed my disgust to her but was in a hurry and ended up not formally complaining - which I regret. So be forewarned about your younglings breakfast charges, and don't settle without complaining formally in the "Livro de Reclamações" (complaints book).
Barrill Beach, accessible by the small railway operated by the resort for free, is one of the loveliest beaches I've seen. It stretched for miles and was very, very clean. There were a number of shops and cafes available if you needed anything or wanted a bite to eat or drink.
The resort is somewhat old and tired...it must have been fantastic when it was first built. The pictures on the website were a bit misleading. They showed rooms for all levels of accommodation rather than what we were looking for. We booked a T1 apartment which said it had 2 bedrooms. When we arrived, there was one bedroom and 2 'beds' in the living room area. They were actually bench seats for a large table (that couldn't be moved out of the way) so a bit dangerous when getting in or out of bed. I complained and stood in reception for a couple of hours before we were finally moved to a 2 bedroom apartment.
Needs a much larger sign at the street into the complex. Also we need more than just one trash can in the Villa.
We loved the location, the house, walking around the complex. The supermarket was well priced and they have fresh bread everyday. We will return.
