One of the closest hotel's to Sao Bento metro on the "D" Yellow line (go up the hill towards the church with the blue tiles (main train station is on your left), it's to the right of the church, with a big sign. The hotel location was quiet and I slept very well in a lovely clean room. I did ask for an upgrade as the first room was cheap and too basic. The staff let me have a look at a further three rooms and we chose room 435. The hotel is central to town and the staffs were helpful with directions and advice, they spoke excellent English. Breakfast was sufficient, cereal, toast, melon, ham, cheese, orange juice.

We found an upper class cafe for dinner (2 courses each) very good value £25 for two included a bottle of wine. Go past McDonalds (on your right side) take the next road on the right and it's the first restaurant on your left with large flags on the outside, you think it just sells cakes but out the back is a basic cafe with great food (loads) and lovely staff to serve you.

The daytime staff were very amenable and helpful throughout my staff giving advice on things to see.

The staff overnight were quite terse and took a long time to answer the night bell.

Because it's near to the train station, the location is verry convenient for city visit and day trips nearby. The value for money is excellent.

There wasn't any view from the window, but for the room-price I didn't expected much. The only problem was the heating, I've been there in winter. There was only one electric heater in the room, but none for the bathroom. It was quite cold.

Very cheap hotel with friendly staff in the heart of Porto.

Nothing...all was good for me...room I had was tiny but sufficient for a few nights stay...not a long stay though

Hotel was value for money. Good location next to station but not noisy. Staff very friendly.

The view from the room 322 was a wall with a hole in it. I didn't expect too much for the money though and can live with that providing the room is clean, comfortable and safe.

Good central location. Old fashioned rooms perhaps in need of rejuvenation but good value.

Don't book the smaller cheaper rooms. They are very pokey.

The hotel location is excelent, right in the center of the city, nearby railway station, bus stops. Very good price for the facilities, cleanliness and location!

Very good value for money. Central location close to metro and railway stations. Rooms and bathrooms rather large, comfortable and quiet. Large common spaces. Friendly staff; one of the reception people also very efficient and proficient in English. Good overall cleanliness.

A strong annoying smell in the room of a friend, whose origin we were not able to identify. My bathroom had no window or blower. Furniture in the rooms rather old and somewhat weared, as well as bath. Window of room faced a wall. No wifi in the hotel. Breakfast food not much varied.

I hate modern lights that turn off and on automatically, totally ridiculous!

The friendly helpful staff, the location, the spaciousness of the room.

The shower in our room, number 439, was almost useless. Low pressure, and impossible to control the temperature.
