The walls of the restaurant are the original walls of the old mill. Its inner surface is paved with traditional Portuguese pave, and the pavement on the outside by the sea is paved with Madeira’s traditional pave.
Nearby there is also small playgrounds for children to play, a small supermarket, pharmacy, post office, bank and a bus stop.
Other places of interest include churches, the sugar cane mill and the water channel of Levade do Castelejo.

The location and views from the balcony were just as stunning as announced. Nice served breakfast with lots of choice, not buffet style thanks goodness. I had dinner there too, delicious food. The locals kept popping in to say hello in the restaurant which is always a good sign. Not much to complain about. Well, it would be nice if the wifi could work in the room as well as in the public areas of the hotel. |

Loved being right by the ocean and being able to use the public sea water pool which we usually had to ourselves. Staff in hotel and local residents all very friendly and helpful. Not too keen on the brand of yogurt! Need a better one...and may be breakfast starting a little earlier so can get earlier buses. |

Generally clean hotel in excellent location, so close to the seafront you could hear the waves on the beach all night; quite relaxing. Worth booking a room with a balcony offering a lovely sea view. Awful shower with the smallest possible tray and shower curtains which inevitably stuck to you. Shower head inclined to spray whole room unless held in hand. Breakfasts were poor quality with little choice, not buffet style breakfasts. |

Our room had a small but pleasant patio with great views of the seafront. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. You can park just outside the hotel. The village is pretty and peaceful and has a few bars and restaurants and a lido which would be fantastic in summer. The room was extremely small and damp and it had a nasty smell when it had been shut up for a few hours while we were out. The quality of the food was OK but not as good as many of the other places we tried nearby and around the island. |

Smart modern hotel in a small seafront village. Unusal design owing to the hilly terrain adds to its attraction. My only small gripe is the lack of a kettle in the room but that seems to apply to most of continental Europe. |

Das Hotel ist klein und ruhig und ideal geeignet für Wanderer. Das Essen im hoteleigenen Lokal ist sehr gut. Das Klima in Porto da Cruz ist deutlich kühler als in Funchal und so ist es auch kein Problem, dass die Zimmer keine Klimaanlage haben. Lärmempfindlich sollte man nicht sein, da der "wilde" Atlantik dirket vor dem Zimmerfenster rauscht und eine ziemliche Lautstärke entwickelt. |
