The Peninsular is in a great location in the UNESCO heritage site of Porto historic quarter, just 215 yards from Sao Bento train station. The hotel has a restaurant and an elevator.
Score from 739 reviews Good
Universal Hotel is centrally in Porto, just a 5-minute walk from the Clérigos Tower and Trindade Church. The hotel has air-conditioned rooms and a 24-hour front desk.
Score from 754 reviews Good
Offering city views from the private balconies, Chique Hotel is located within a century-old building in a typical Oporto square, in Avenida dos Aliados.
Score from 134 reviews Good
In a traffic-free street in the heart of Porto, this hotel offers a backyard garden and a continental breakfast. The Clérigos Tower and plenty of eateries are a 5-minute walk away.

Good location near food shop and cafés. Fridge in room. High up in roof with views. Quiet.
Service lift got stuck between floors!
The hotel cost is cheap and the location is excellent. It is just next to the Metro.
The room is small an narrow. The floor has little slope.
The location couldn't be more central
Room is pretty uncomfortable with no proper blinds and no decent sound isolation to the street. Quite noisy, small room with unworkable shower. Very disappointing
The staff was very interactive & helpful. Suggested us some veg restaurants, room was cleaned daily. Close to Bolhao metro & market and commercial center of the city.
No lift to climb to the 2, 3, 4 floors :(
good location clean value for money
no shampoo provided very poor shower
Location in front of metro station Location near S.Catarina street Not in a too much leaning road
Good location, good staff. Everything easy! It was great and i think that it is really good for a group of friends, or adults.
Really good hotel. It is nearby to the famous commercial district, Rua Santa Catarina, and very close to the other historic touristic attractions. The room I was staying was very comfortable and the cleaning was excellent as well. I recommend this hotel to anyone wants to visit Porto and looking for an hotel with an affordable price..
Location is perfect! Just around the corner of the shopping street and a few steps away from the metro station. Everything is close enough! It's ok for a short stay. WiFi was great and free. There was a big mirror in the room :-)
It's not clean enough, but it's bareable for a short stay. The room was very small, no elevator.
Location was good and the staff were helpful!
There is no elevator and might be difficult for people who are travelling a bit heavy!...
Location was excellent for the airport, train station and sightseeing, right on the main metro lines. Near to the famous market but still quiet at night. Great budget hotel.
It's close to the metro station.
I had the room number 12, which is on the street side, at same level with the traffic light. To put it simple, you won't sleep. If you think you are a heavy sleeper and you are not usually affected by the street noise, trust me, you won't close your eyes the whole night. If a car passes in front of your window, the noise goes with it and it's not that bad. This is not the situation at Hotel do Norte, where there is a traffic light in front of the window :D So, you will hear the noises of the engines waiting for the green light or people loudly singing in their cars. But, wait, there's more! The traffic light has a sharp sound for the visually impaired, which makes the sleep humanly impossible. And that's because of the very poor isolation of the windows and the doors. Avoid, at least, the room numbers 12, 13, 14. I won't get into other details about the mold on the bathrooms, because I've already wasted too much time on this review. The poorest value for money in years!
Good location, easy to get to from the airport and train station via the metro and walking distance to all the sights. Lots of outlet shopping nearby too. Staff speaks English and is friendly and helpful.
No shampoo in the rooms - just a bar of soap. I didn't realize this until nearly midnight when I returned to the room and the hotel doesn't sell shampoo either.
The location is superb, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The floor in my room was not flat, which made the furniture rock and made sleeping somewhat strange. I did not have time to ask the staff for a room change, but that aspect of the room was particularly uncomfortable. The furniture was not in the best condition, and the lack of desk was an inconvenience.
Good location, nice staff, good value for the money
Very hostile hotel.
Bed a bit lumpy
excellent location - central Porto. I got my single room for a very good rate having booked a week in advance. Staff friendly and very helpful
lady at the reception was really professional and friendly, we felt really welcome
Nice room in general if it hadn't been let down by the details. Staff v friendly.
My room smelt revolting - clearly some blocked-drain issues... the window also couldn't close and so there was no way of blocking out the v loud street noise. There also didn't seem to be more than 1 plug socket in the room - even the bedside lights didn't switch on!
Location was excellent near to the metro and the city centre.
Relatively small room and the hotel is situated at a quite busy street
Staffs were very nice and attentive. The hotel is well located, clean and although they don't offer breakfast there are snacs machines available for guests.
-The people who work there are very friendly. Really good service :)
-Horrible bed. -Poor cleanless. -Shower was dirty -You could hear everything from other rooms -Room was very small.
Very happy with this hotel recommended by a friend. It is located in a very good position close to the center and 1 minute walking distance from the metro station Bolhao which goes directly to the airport (Line E) and to other city stations. The price for a double room is affordable, the room & bathroom was clean and modern, the staff is excellent; they speak English and are always willing to provide advice and recommendations. No breakfast is offered in the morning but outside is plenty of bars for very reasonable prices. WiFI access is available also in the room and for free.
The only little disappointment is that the room is not well isolated from the noise outside the street and if you get a room on the first floor you might experience it.
