Central location but very quiet nights, friendly staff, large room
No elevator, steep walk up from Baixa, only cash payment
Close to tourist attractions, helpful staff, very clean room. Room had three beds - good value. Would stay here again.
A little noisy outside but to be expected in central location.
good value for double room. good location close to centre friendly staff
a lot of noise from the street, people out drinking in the early hours with no regard. horrid looking hostel opposite making a lot of the noise.
Closeness to centre of Lisbon Quaint, cheap accommodation Friendly helpful staff
Minor gripes only - number of steps to reach hostel from main road and noise from late revellers in street
A very good value for the money
Great place to stay, great location, very friendly personal!!!
Location and good wifi
The room was big and bright. The bed was comfortable. The price was super cheap. The location is central.
The view is not inspirational. No toilet inside the room. But, all this is really nothing for this price in the center of Lisbon.
very clean rooms, good location, safe and friendly staff (although they don't speak English very well). Also there's a nice little restaurant (o'mendes) about 50 meters down the street where the food is good (and cheap) and where you can get a community feeling
Quite good location
Very old facilities, tiny rooms
Too few pillows in the bed.
Cheap. Great location. Shower and basin in the room. Shared bathrooms are clean. Comfortable bed. No uninvited animals in the room and bed. Lady washed my clothes last day and didn't accept any payment for it.
The smell in the room, hard to tell where it was coming from, the shower would be my first guess. I had to leave the window open all the time. The worn look of the room with old furniture ("elegant" is a very hard push...). But anyway, you don't stay there to admire your room and from a practical point of it's a fine room: big and comfy bed, desk, wardrobe, shower, basin. Most of the staff speak little English.
I really loved the location - it's close to all of the important sites of Lisbon, staff (so cute and helpful!) and cleanliness!
central location, clean comfortable (for the price) rooms, friendly helpful staff, good facilities, nice old building with atmosphere
would have preferred fridge in room but at least there is a communal fridge to put things in
Very cosy spacious double room, clean, shower in the room, locked door for entering, staff was really helpful giving tips
Location is good but to get to hotel you need to climb dodgy stairs close to a sex shop-feels a bit scary at night
We stayed here last July 30 -31, 2014. The staff are very accommodating, more than to help with requests.
I totally recommend this hostel - first of all the localization is amazing - it's close to one of the "miradoro" and to the "party zone bario alto, secondly hole hostel looks nice - rooms are clean and cozy, and also the service is extremely nice, they speak English, French, Spanish. Of course if you expect the 4-star hotel, but as a hostel it's one of the better one.
The location is brilliant, the staff very helpful and friendly, the room big and spacious... great value for money
Nothing worth the mention to be honest..
Location is good even if you have to climb some stairs; it's difficult with the luggages.
Hard to understand with the staff; nobody spoke English, nor Spanish. Better if you have charade skills :)
Staff: Everyone was super nice and tried to help wherever they could Cleanliness: the place was really clean. Even the shared bathroom always smelled like soaps and detergent. Location: it's 5min from all the places to be, day and night! Fantastic location really Overall excellent value for money
It was a bit hard to communicate with the staff who don't speak English well (but the message still finds a way) Rooms were a bit noisy at night, young people passing by (but was fun for us!) There are some stairs you need to take to reach the hotel, can be a problem for someone with huge luggage like us (but there is a longer road you can take without stairs)
Central location, friendly staff, clean sheets and rooms every day, very cheap prices
Noisy nights/mornings due to proximity to a very loud youth hostel, certain communication problems with the staff (relevant for non-Portuguese/Spanish-speaking guests only), no kitchen available, door locks seem to be very fragile
Great location, it is close to metro/train, Bairro alto, funicular and all main attractions. Offers good value for money. This is budget friendly accomodation. Free Wi-Fi.
Looks outdated, shabby almost, staff unpolite, morning-staff spoke no english at all. Impossible to find parking nearby. Room sound-insulation almost non-existent. Shower top-cover (plexiglass) way too low. Bed too short. Had to pay cash in advance. To be honest, you cant really expect anything spectacular for this price. If you can accept this level, you will still have great location at acceptable prices.
Great location. Place with character.
Value for money. It was really clean.
The staff was way to informal (treating me on a second person singular basis). No soap in the soap dispensers. No isolation whatsoever.
