When I was booking the room I didnt expect much for the money I paid but at the end I was super surprised. For little money I got top location and decent room with decent bathroom and everything what comes with when u go to the decent hotel.
WI-FI works only in the reception or at least it didnt work at the time I've been in the 2nd floor.
Easy access to transport and city sights. Good price. Plenty eating options nearby. Simple but clean room.
No wardrobe in my room but for price can't complain. Small shower. No lift might be a problem for top floor.
Biggish room, clean, good wifi connection, great location (near sights and nightlife), easy transfer by metro from airport; had balcony.
Person at reception didn't speak English; got by on basic French. Walls fairly thin; some noise from neighbors and from street until approx. midnight. No elevator. Avoid restaurant next door, they tried to rip us off and food wasn't that great.
Although the staff is not so good in English, but still helpful. And the room is very comfortable and spacious.
At night, you can hear the noise from street.
Great location. Very friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed the stay!!!
Noise from the street below until early morning.
Nice staff unless they cannot speak English adequately.
The smell of the rooms
We booked our room for three nights in advance of two months. When we've arrived our room was occupied and staff offered to choose between two solutions: - we get one room for the night and move to another room on another floor next day after 12:00 - choose any hotel that we like No comments. Also: - poor Wi-Fi signal - no lift (4 floors) - no english
Very friendly helpful staff. Great location. Enjoyed the stay.
- location - friendly staff (but not always present) - double bed - room cleaned and fresh towels every day (if you leave you key)
- economy rooms are small - there's no cupboard to hang your clothes (only hangers against wall) - only 2 small (no see-through)windows (bathroom), 1 of which can't be opened (above toilet), 1 of which can't be closed properly (next to shower) and both of which let rain infiltrate - mirror in bathroom is placed too low and you knock your head against ceiling when going to toilet if you're taller than 1m70 - tv screen is too small (30x35cm)
nearby Aliados, nearby transportation systems, strong wi-fi
small rooms, no elavator,
Great position, practically in the middle of the city centre, close to restaurants, bars, pubs, and clubs. Great quality/price ratio! The staff was pretty nice: half of the people were not able to speak English but they tried to understand and we managed to communicate anyway :)
The street is really crowded during the night and it might be difficult to sleep. The room does not have many comforts, but you cannot expect more for this price.
Neat room, nice staff, clean bathroom
Sometimes when people pass by, footsteps can be heard clearly. There's no noise during the night so it doesn't affect the quality of sleep.
A clean and friendly pension at the heart of Porto. Reception available 24/7, reliable WIFI throughout the building. I spent 4 nights there in September for a conference: the location can't be better (quiet street, walking distance form old town, 5min walk from tube station...) ; ensuite room was small (no desk) but very clean and equipped with A/C (very useful as the weather was hot all week) ; very friendly staff.
Central location with 10 minutes walk to the riverside. Staffs were very friendly & helpful. We ordered city view room. The space was very big and toilet was good.
Sound proving was a little bit poor. We can hear the strong music in the middle night.
Receptionist willing to help us as we had lost our ticket for the half price parking. Good air conditioning, wifi and shower pressure. Room cleanliness relatively ok. Location very close to little shops for breakfast, to night bars and very close to the red/ yellow sightseeing bus stops.
The key to the rooms doesn't open the main entrance, you have to ring the bell and the guy at reception wakes up(!) to open for you. Very poor insulation between the rooms, corridor etc. Some noise from bars nearby. No lift very tiring stairs esp if on the 2nd floor.
Location was excellent!
We'have came by a car,so we've just stopped in front of the pensao and took out our luggage. Than we got a map where the park place is and they told us it will be 12 euros for 24 hours. So next day we left and went pick up the car and the price was 32 euros!! Because they should give us some special paper from hotel because of agreement 12euros price with the park place!! I think that is totally ununderstandable, why they didn't do that while they were describing to us how to get with our car to the park place. And it was two of them..
Location, big room and very clean facilities
To take into account long stairs which es actualy a characteristic of this kind of buildings
Great location, close to everything important, the staff was friendly.
There is a lot of noise at night from the street, didn't bother us but I guess could bother other people
Reasonably priced & quiet hotel in the center of Porto.
The beds are not suitable for tall people. No clothing cabinet available. No elevator. No key available for own entrance to the hotel.
too noisy during the night because of the disco in the street no elevator smells
location and new windows that made it pretty much soundproof on a noisy thursday night in downtown Porto... english television station to unwind with... nice blankets...room 201 nice view of architecture in the distance
in this day and age, staff should have some command of the english language...
Location. The staff tried their best to help us.
Most everything else. The room itself was OK but the bed itself was terrible - could feel the springs. The staff were finally able to help a bit by providing a comforter to help pad it a bit. There was a nice female staff person but she was limited - could speak French but not English which also made the stay challenging. The room was at the very top. We went up 76 stairs to reach it. It was exteremely noisy outside our window which faced the street - the entire night - people singing at the top of their lungs, dogs barking, garbage truck and another noisy truck which sounded like a street cleaner for both nights we stayed there!!! We were told there were no other rooms available but there weren't lots of people there that we saw. No early morning breakfast opportunities - McDonald's doesn't even open till 8:30 am! There were some mosquitoes that we couldn't easily see - got bitten a lot as we had to have the windows open as too humid or hot. All in all would pay more rather than stay again.
spacious room and bathroom, very nice view; air-conditioned
no elevator; wi-fi is really weak; hard to find, no parking
Good relation quality/price. The pension is very centric and it has a good position for visiting the city on foot. The room was small but not too much. There is the possibility of buying big bottles of fresh water from the reception for 1 euro each. Discount for public parking available for guests; here comes how it works: 1) you have to contact the hostel to know the name of the public parking and their locations, 2) you buy from the reception tickets for 24h in the parking for 12 euros each (the normal price for 24h is around 35 euros, 14 euros just one night), 3) you pay the parking on the way out with these tickets. Definitely a good choice.
No lift. If you carry a lot of luggage as we did it is not the best especially because the stairs from one floor to the other are a lot!! Short bed. There is an old and small TV in the room attached to the wall, you can watch it only if you lying down on the bed. The pension is difficult to find given the fact that it is located in a central area with several one way streets and the sign with the name of the hostel is not very visible. The street can be noisy during the WE. No free parking in the whole city centre.
