Staff were friendly and helpful, location was superb and breakfast was good. the room had everything you need.
Not really anything to complain about, it was good value for money.
Perfect location..... Helpful staff... Good wifi..
Room is really small...
Variety of people in the neighborhood. Neighborhood cafes. Proximity to bus and metro. Good breakfast.
Friendly, helpful staff, excellent location, good breakfast, clean. Would definitely stay there again.
Pensao Praca Da Figueira is a wonderful accommodation option in Lisbon. Located one square south to Rossio square with a wide selection of transportation right at the hotel door makes its location ideal. Staff is externally friendly and helpful with a strong client oriented attitude. For example we were allowed to use the pension facilities after check as we had a late flight. The pension is located in the second to the forth floor of an elevator-less building. If you're fit, don't let that scare you as my wife was 7 month pregnant and I carried our 2 years old and after 3 days of climbing we forgot all about the stairs. Don't let the shared bathroom scare you either. They have plenty of them in each floor and they are cleaned every hour so it's not an issue in any way. Breakfast is great - fresh, rich and varied. The rooms overlooking the Figueira square are amazing (we had a forth floor room overlooking the square and it was great). The only downside is that not all room have A.C which is a problem if you stay in the warmer periods. We spent 5 night in the pension and we are sure to return the next time we're in town (which will be soon as we adore Lisbon).
The smiling face and excellent support of the young woman at the reception
the simple breakfast
Great location, public transport, yellow buses and trams on the door step. 5 minutes from the S. Jorge Castle and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Great buffet breakfast. Room very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The only negative side was the electric toilet in the bathroom, it was very noisy after being flushed.
very (!!!!) engaged staff at the reception (during the day) //// located in the heart of Lisboa (close to Metro, Tram and a lot of Highlights) //// nice breakfast room with view to the Place “Praca Da Figueira” ///// good quality/price ratio
WIFI-coverage bad in some of the rooms, not so clean in the rooms
Location is the best in Lisbon. The room was a really nice suite, with excellent bedding.
No place to put soap on in the shower. Pickpocket swarm around the city center ad flies. Leave your money and cards in the room when venturing outsides, especially at night!
The central location is excellent, handy for the metro in the square outside and for Rossio Station. Great if you just want a walk down to the river in the evening.
Can be quite noisy if you leave the windows open. On the the other hand, there is air conditioning if you prefer to have the windows closed. Lots of stairs to fourth floor.
After reading the reviews, chose this hotel for it's central location, cleanliness, security, helpful staff and reasonable price in the height of summer and it didn't disappoint. Booked 4 nights of an 8 night vacation here. The first 3 went well, we booked our final night there, left them a suitcase and went touring the countryside for 4 days. Both stays we enjoyed rooms with a view to the square. Included in room price was breakfast (adequate and plentiful) & wi-fi (good in common area, not that good in the rooms, but no problem as good T-Mobile signal). Though this hotel may be described as a hostel (Japanese guidebook), some rooms multiple occupancy, it never appeared overflowing or noisy. No problem with noise at night either from occupants or the street. Both night and day staff were equally friendly and helpful. We arrived in the early morning and left in the early morning. No issues with finding it (entrance down alley back of square) nor security of the area. Taxi from airport at 0100 cost 29 Euros (!?); taxi to airport at 0430 charged only 9.5 Euros. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again - with lighter luggage.
We knew in advance there was no elevator, that's what we signed up for, but the reality of dragging just a 20" carry-on up to the 2nd floor (Ground, 1st, 2nd = 4 flights) was rather exhausting.
Second visit here. Nice new breakfast area with a view of the plaza. Love the balcony and view from our room. Lots of washrooms all very clean.
Location, price and staff.
Wish all shower heads would fit in the holder so you could shower hands free. Climbing the 4 flight of stairs to room...but was doable.
Perfect location, very helpful staff, rich breakfast. Soundproofed street windows.
Inside walls are paper-thin so you can hear almost every word from the neighbouring room. Our room was very small, dark, had no airconditioning and always smelled somehow funny. But the worst was the lack of an elevator - our room was on the 4th floor...
Location ..value..decor and cleanliness of room..breakfast..staff..
Wi-fi not good on one side of building
Very helpful staff, great breakfast, best location as we had room facing the square.ask for one when you bk.
Nothing to dislike
location - 2 minutes walk from Metro station, city tour bus stop and 5 minutes from the airport bus free wifi simple great value accomodation with good breakfast
first flight of stairs is bit steep regarding descent, care needed not a big issue
Great location, very helpful staff.
Stairs were a bit of a mission
Location. Friendly & Helpful Staff Room with a great view. Not too noisy - good sound proofing Breakfast buffet
Stairs to room. Shower did not fit onto fitting so had to hold it in one hand to take a shower. No plug so could not have a bath either. Toilet brush was filthy and had not been cleaned for some time....
the staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. the seafood restaurant they recommended was wonderful and value for money. we had our green wine first time. Another staff did lots of help to us when our wallet was stolen in tram 28. we were really appreciated what she did to us. Too bad we were able to say thanks to her for she being not on duty and we had to catch the flight very early. except being pocketpicked, we had a great time in lisboa and had good impression of portuguese. abrigado.
Location. Breakfast was nice, staffs were helpful.
Very noisy at night- the cons of staying in the city center. The color of the room was purple, kinda annoying color. Facilities was very poor, not even glasses provided in the room. No lift. Room was small with only beds, wardrobe and a chair... Honestly disappointed.
Had a fantastic view out over the square, the location was excellent for exploring. The airport bus stops about 100 metres away, the Metro is right outside looking onto the square and there's a hop on hop off bus stop outside too. Easy walk to Alfama and Bica. It was a tad tricky to find but if you get off the airport bus and make your way across the big square past the statue into the next square to the yellow hop on hop off stops. You'll then see the steps down to the Metro. Walk past these then turn left and left again into the wide lane way and the doorway is about 20 metres down on your left.
Yes there are steps to get up to the rooms but I'd read reviews on this so had mentally prepared for carrying bags up and it was fine. The stairway is wide and steps are fine:)
Perfect location, right in the heart of Lisbon. 10 mins walk to the river. There is a city tour buses a few blocks away and closed parking garage. The rooms are clean but no private bathroom, however shared bathrooms are clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is free and it is good. Wi-Fi is OK, had no problem.
No elevator. If your room is on the second or third floor you have to take the stairs. They have no private parking. You have to park your car in the indoor parking garage a few blocks away. But we paid 25 or 26 euros per night.
Rooms were on the third floor, so be prepared to climb!
