The renovated buildings of Tattva Design Hostel feature brightly decorated rooms, with private bathrooms, in the centre of Porto. A spacious sun terrace has design seating and barbecue facilities.
Score from 760 reviews Wonderful
Very welcoming and warm staff. Appropriately priced for degree of comfort and general condition of the accomodations. Our room at the back was very quiet. If your style is to be mostly out and about exploring, this makes a good base. Slightly out of the touristic center, but I felt this can also be considered an advantage: on a direct bus line if you tire of walking; nearby restaurants are excellent and not at all focused on attracting tourist income.
For the price, I was happy with everything, adjust your expectations accordingly!
We stayed here for 2 nights. The place is clean and well organized. It is very easily accessible by bus or you can walk to the downtown area. The staff is wonderful and helpful. Everything was great and for the price it was very well worth it.
You are not in the center of Porto but it is very easy to get there!
Residencia LIS exceeded our expectations in every way. It was easy to find and the garaging arrangements for our car were perfect. Our room was clean and comfortable with a sitting area overlooking the garden. Our host was extremely welcoming and made many suggestions to help us enjoy our visit to Porto. We were sorry to leave.
If you are looking for gracious hospitality, this is where you should stay. We loved the hotel, which is a 30 minute walk from the touristic quarter of Porto. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, but we enjoyed the walk. Our room was very clean and spacious. We were most impressed by the owner, who went out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed our time at the hotel and in Porto. The staff was also kind and helpful. Very impressed! Thank you for everything!
The owner/manager is amazing. On arrival he gave us a bottle of port and a fresh cake he just baked. Then a map showing exactly what to see with all the public transport connections mapped out. (We didn't actually follow that tour but really appreciated the effort).
Location is out of town - a short bus ride or an hour's walk. We enjoyed the walk.
Good lpcation. Helpful staffs. Free parking.
Bathroom is dirty. Uncomfortable bed.
Noicy in The room neighbours and people on THE corridors
Nice place tot stay. Walking distance tot hoghlights. Or otherwise public transport.
The owner, his outstanding hospitality. He greeted us with a bottle of wine and few slices of fresh banana bread. When we asked about a place to buy some drinking water, he just handed us a big bottle of ice fresh water. His knowledge of the area was exceptional and he gave us many good hints about where to go and what to do. The room rate included parking in a secured garage across the street. The taxi ride from the river front back to the hotel was just under 6 euro.
The room was pretty spartan and the breakfast was very basic, but we didn't expect more, so there were no disappointments.
Very friendly staff. Owner, Augustino, speak English fluently. He gave us the map of the city and all possible explanations and recommendations. Port vine with cake in check in. Good and convenient parking in the centre of Porto.
A little poor, but acceptable breakfast.
Staff. Location. Quiet room. Good bed. Excellent value.
It's not that ididn't like these things, but youneed tohave realistic expectations - It's a budget hotel with budget rooms and a budget breakfast. It's great as a base to sleep, but you aren't going to want to hang out in your room for a few hours of "chill time". Go with realistic expectations and you won't be disappointed.
staff are family and were excellent. On arrival they had drawn on a map suggesting places to visit, buses, restaurants etc. We were greeted with cake and family port which was delicious. The rooms were clean and the location good with a bus stop right outside the door. The building is very old so the decor reflects this, so if thats your thing this is is the hotel for you.
The bathroom was tired and could do with a bit of modernising. The breakfast was poor consisting of bread and coffee and a few bits of fruit if available.
Our hostess generous with his time , directing us to a delightful neighborhood restaurant, explaining the days and evening events, even telling us at what ime we need to be where. He welcomed us with cake and port Location was great for walking down to the port and old city area. Our host made the stay exciting and let us see some of the real city life. the parking was perfect.
Direction to the b&b were difficult due to one way streets beds were not as comfortable as they could have been.
Very friendly owner and staff. Very welcoming. Easy parking
the hotel owner is a charming man which can really provide you with tips for travel in the city but also in the rest of the country; we really appreciated the complimentary porto wine we received the location is about 1km from city centre (or 4 metro stations)
the breakfast was quite poor, but still enough to start the day.
The owner was very helpful with ways to see various sites around Porto. He arranged taxis when we needed them and suggested various restaurants to try. We did feel we were very well looked after. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the warm sunshine.
Breakfast was adequate but a little sparse.
The owner taking time out to recommend and discuss the "must see" tourist sites.
Excellent service and very good value.
Difficult to know where to park prior to checking in.
The level of service was fantastic. We were given very good advice by our gracious host on how best to spend our time.- even to the point of a suggested itinerary, including such things as the right buses, convenient and good restaurants and the 'must sees ' in Porto.
The only thing I missed was having muesli on the breakfast menu. Everything else was fantastic.
The location, the price and the friendly staff.
Very friendly staff. Owner would do anything to help. Bus stop outside. Owner provides a small bottle of his home made port and some of his wife's home made cake in the room. Beds are comfortable.
Rooms are comfortable but the furniture is old fashioned and tired.
Augustino was the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble. He treats every guest like a member of his own family. People like this are a rare find and should be appreciated.
Lovely friendly owner. We were greeted with cake and port and lots of information about places to visit. We were serenaded at breakfast. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at such a friendly place.
Very helpful and personable staff. They made you feel at home and offered suggestions on sites to see.
Hospitality from the owner was first class. Where else would you be given a map highlighted with places of interest, appropriate bus numbers, nearest good restaurant plus given home made cake and wine from the family vineyard.
