View over the city, tapas bar, bakery, cafe, bar, restaurants are all nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. Great character of interior and rooms. Would come again
Breakfast is a bit basic, but survivable ;-)
During our 6 nights stay we enjoyed a perfect location in bairro alto. Spacious room with nice balcony on the main street. Helpful and educated staff. Fair breakfast. Just 500 meters from lisbon's nightlife. A traditional portugese cafe on the groundfloor. I definitely recommend this hotel.
When we first got our room, it was in a very clean state. After the first couple of nights. We noticed that the floor is not vacuum cleaned anymore and the bed sheets are no more changed.
the situation is nice , and the personnel at the front desk
the rooms are stuffy , our double room had a double bed and a single bed in a small space , I kept banging my leg every time , the window is practically impossible to open because of the 2nd bed -, the double bed is small and terribly uncomfortable . The breakfast is the worst I have ever had and the breakfast staff is rude . The price for a double with private bathroom is overpriced . I stayed for 3 days and they forgot to replace the soap and shampoo .
Excellent rooms with tasteful decor great reception staff excellent breakfast room food and service.
A bit noisy and late night revellers
The location was central and it made it easy to get around. The staff were very helpful and offered good advice on how to find your way around.
The rooms on the front can be a little noisy.
have stayed there many times-- it is always great!
location, near a really nice viewpoint
it was really small! the door was broken.. really creaky. bed was noisy.
Friendly, courteous, very helpful staff. E.g. 1: phoned to ask if we could switch from double to twin and was told yes but warned that room wasn't same standard, small and no outside window - we didn't care 'cos would only be sleeping in it. E.g. 2: I phoned to say that we might not arrive until about midnight, and was volunteered that the airport bus might not be running so take a taxi for max €15. Good location at the top of Biarrio Alto - lovely pastelleria next door, great tapas bar opposite, nice park nearby, good viewpoint nearby. Nice dining room but never got up in time for breakfast :-(
There are doors separating the room corridors from stairwell - these tend to get slammed noisily by careless guests.
The size of our room. The amount of natural daylight in our room. At last, at "hotel room," of the type-we-usually-stay-in(pension, etc), where one could see with daylight and enough lumens in the light bulbs, at least the ones next to the beds! Thank you to whomever gave us the rooms we had(we stayed at Pensao Londres both at the end and beg. Of Portugal trip)
Breakfast starting later than we would have chosen!
My third stay at this place-- great neighborhood and location! very helpful staff too.
As usual everything was great.
Comfy bed central location proximity to bars and restaurants
breakfast was poor the coffee
Loved the view from up in a hill of Bairro Alto, great location within walking distance of most tourist places, delicious croissant in breakfast, room was big and with nice high ceiling, helpful staff
Shower pressure wasn't always good, a bit noisy from the street but closing the windows help.
If you want a swanky place with wide screen TV and minibar this is not for you. But if you want high ceilings and large rooms with character and charm at a very reasonable price then this is the place for you.
The reception area is scruffy but who cares.
Great location and value.
Room was small and needed some updating.
The location of the hotel. It was really close to the city center and the famous Bairro Alto. The hotel has an elevator which is a blessing after you walk all day in Lisbon. The rooms are tidy and comfortable. The breakfasts are really good.
We had a room for 3 people and were suprised with double beds. location is amazing breakfest is standard one but good
wifi doesnt work in a room just public areas
Location is good. Room had super view!
Bathroom could be cleaner
- brilliant value for money - great location - possibility to do late check-in - they have a luggage room available
Very helpful and friendly staff - even with "special" requests such as luggage storage. Excellent location, very good breakfast, beautiful rooms (esp. for this price). I liked that the room without a private bathroom had a sink, mirror and even a bidet - which seems to be quite popular still in Portugal.
A little bit hard to find initially - I walked past 3 times... and if you have a lot of luggage, the initial flight of stairs is challenging (there is an elevator only after that).
Perfect position. Nice bathroom.
Location,Staff, size of family room, cleaniness are fine..
Building needs some restoration, reception was on 2nd floor which makes noise to second floor guests, trouble of wi-fi system and no hot stuff on breakfast..
Bidet and sink in room (behind curtain for privacy) so bathroom down the hall was not a big deal. The antique ceiling was gorgeous! June is festival month in Portugal, so lots going on--street dances, booths with crafts on sale in park, music, etc.
This is up a steep hill from the metro station. It looks like just a few blocks on the map, but they are strenuous blocks if carrying luggage. I would have gotten a taxi but I kept thinking I was almost there.
