Location: close to the nightlife, yet quiet in the room; not far from downtown; a great view from the restaurant & also from the street outside. Staff were helpful.
I liked the firm mattress of my bed. The best night sleeps I had in a long time on that bed.
Very close to bars and restaurants in Bairro Alto. Nice helpful staff. Old building with character.
The slight smell of damp
Price of the hotel was very good for a downtown location and you are minutes within walking distance to the metro or downtown.
Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff. Free luggage storage.
Bathrooms would benefit from refitting.
Friendly staff.great breakfast, easy access to Lisbon City centre.
The climb up the hill from the Metro!
Location was good
Very noisy a phone ringing 3 times at 2.45am. The breakfast room too small for the number of people staying.
The location is exceptional, in Príncipe Real, for shopping or just wandering. The building is very nice and well preserved.
The bathroom was clean but needed some remodeling.
Location is nice Staff is nice Breakfast is nice Pretty everything is good
The Elevator looking pretty old Need two keys to enter the room
Nice old fashioned feel in the middle of old Lisbon
very reasonable price - you can stay in comfort single room with 25 Euro! Although the bathroom is not private bathroom but it was very clean and luxurious like hotel. The staff was also friendly.
The location is in city centre but it is slightly hard to find this pension for strangerers who can not speak Portugese. So I took a taxi at Rossio but it costs 10 Euro, too pricy.
It's a wonderful hotel. I'll give if a 9.5.
There's nothing not to like.
Again great location in Barrio Alto, good for a variety of restaurants, corner stores etc. 5 - 10 minutes to several different metros. Bathroom with full tub this time, lots of hot water too! Friendly, helpful staff with some English spoken (okay the day guy can come across as a little abrupt, but he's not particularly rude or anything). Reasonable prices for large, comfortable room with full en suite bathroom.
Breakfast spread not great, but there coffee and enough meat and cheese to make a little sandwich to tide you over till lunch. Then again I didn't come for the breakfast …
We have stayed many times & this is our favourite spot to stay in Lisbon. The location is brilliant & the price good value.
This time we were put in a room on the 2nd floor by the lift & it was noisy with people coming to reception. The beds were creaky due to blockboard under the mattresses.
I have stayed here before and it continues to be excellent. The staff have been there for many years and care about their guests comfort. It is an excellent location and the rooms are spotless and really nicely appointed. A must stay place.
Nothing everything was first class.
The room is spacious for 4 of us and we have our own single bed per person. The price is also affordable with breakfast included. The bathroom is also quite clean and spacious. The breakfast is also OK with the selection of bread given per table, coffee, tea, cereal and jam.
The smell when you enter the building is telling you that the place is already old. The location is in city center but quite hilly so you need to put effort to reach the place.
Old fashioned charm, comfort and convenience
Great location, nice older but well maintained building with high ceilings. Calm atmosphere with little noise even though on a fairly busy street and across from a bar. Choose upper floors if available, there is a lift. Beds firm not saggy!
Breakfast spread not overwhelming, but breakfast wasn't the purpose of my visit ...
Big room, very good bed, not noisy, staff very helpful. I will come again. Well done!
Probably if I have to say something the breakfast could be improved a bit. There was not a big choice (the croissants were excellent)
Location, close to Bairro Alto, and via Elevador da Gloria to centre of Lisbon. Big, old-fashioned rooms with old-fashioned furniture. Working shutters on windows! Friendly, helpful staff. Great views from some of the rooms.
Breakfast is a bit basic, though coffee is good.
Location Room size Cleanless
Location Location Location Price
Pretty basic in terms of facilities, but at the price its impossible to complain.
shower and bed
smell and windows didn't close well
Great base for Lisbon, Staff is excellent and polite. Historical area near monuments and nightlife.
