Score from 80 reviews Wonderful
fabulous historic building with incredible decor. Comfortable room. Wonderful gardens.
Breakfast. Staff. Locals. Weather. Cartuxa. Super Bock. The seafood & steak.
The settlement several hundred metres away from the hotel on the way to the riverside. The trash in the streets.
Shower,sauna are need upgrade
Grounds and main building are absolutely stunning. Staff were very friendly and professional. Easy to access central Lisbon.
Eye-watering prices in restaurants and room service. Mattress was uncomfortable.
wonderful garden helpful staff great pool good breakfast easy access
loud neighbors// poor soundproofing
The garden, the building and the pool are amazing. Perfect choice for a Summer stay in Lisbon.
Service is very slow and not comparable to other 5 star hotels I visited in the past
Lovely hotel, good breakfast and v helpful staff
outside pool was a bit chilly
Great interiors of the main building Very nice garden Staff speaking very good English
Low quality WI-FI Breakfast is rather limited in assortment Old palace building is getting "rusty" , and this can be seen
Dinner at the restaurant was one of the best we had it. It is worth spending evening there. Interiors are great.
Location is not the best in the city. Everything is far from the hotel. They provide free shuttle service from the hotel to the heart of Lisbon, though. Although we had put it out "Don't disturb card" on the door, House keeping staffs kept putting the card into the room insisting us to clear the room for house keeping. This manner is not five star class.
A beautiful Palace in the city of Lisbon! You go back in time, in a very well maintained Palace with a fantastic Chapel. The restaurant is very charming with excellent food. Our special thanks to Cristina Mata, Patricia and Barbara, who made the difference!
I would have preferred to be in the Royal Suite... but our room was great too!
we liked the ambiance of the place. it is an old palace that has a very nice charm to it, imagine versailles palace but on a much smaller scale. It was nice to see. breakfast was ok, staff at breakfast were very nice unlike staff at their restaurant for dinner which i will come to in my "what i did not like" part. location is a little bit away from the main city, but manageable.
where do I start. 1-First, the beds: the mattress was way too hard, not at all what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. When I say hard, i mean HARD! 2-The Pool! what a disaster. it was solo dirty the floor was greenish with algae and i don't know what1 I will upload pictures to show what i mean. and the water was freezing cold in July! 3- we went to dinner at their a la cart restaurant and we are a family of four with 2 children aged 4 and 3. first of all we were made to feel by the snobby waiter that chidden were not welcome (although we were not late it was about 8pm) and their policy says children allowed. the food was sooooo late, about an hour after we ordered and when i asked the waiter finally he responded in an extremely arrogant way "you were told it will take between 30 to 45 mins". when i tried to point out it was over an hour he was dismissive and rudely walked away mid way through. to top it off, after an hour and 20 minuets my steak arrived under cooked when i had specifically asked for a very well done. at that point it was about 9.30 and way past children's bed time so we all just left without eating our dinner and they still obviously charged us. not a smile or a sorry was said from them. and finally, they have free wifi, very nice and all, but super slow and disconnects often. great if you only want to socially check ur mail. If you are counting on doing some work, forget it.
We had a most special time there & could not have a more friendly & professional reception without it being too gushy. The food & ambience were first class and the room was most comfortable as well as spacious. Overall a very happy stay - much time spent by the pool too !
Ummmmm ….. not planning to stay for one more day ?
coffee machine in the room but not free of charge 2€ a coffee
facilities, location, quiteness, beautifull garden, restaurant
the matress on the bed was quite hard
Beautiful building, excellent facilities with spa, gym and pool. The restaurant and bar are very comfortable and the interior design is perfect. Even though the location is far from the center the spectacular garden and palace make it worth the distance
The walls are thin, bad sound aislation for noisy guests. A hotel of this kind should have sound proof rooms
The staff were very friendly and eager to assist without being overbearing - just seemed like a really nice bunch of people. The breakfasts were amazing! Plentiful and varied so could skip lunch and go straight for dinner. We only ate dinner in the hotel one of our four nights. It was pricey but worth it - a delicious Cataplana for 2. The hotel itself is just gorgeous - a real palace which feels totally luxurious. We were there for our 10th wedding anniversary and lucky enough to stay in a suite. It was fabulous! The Spa was great - set in peaceful gardens and its staff were calm and yogic. Pestana palace is the perfect place for a couple looking to combine rest and relaxation with exploration of the energetic city of Lisbon.
Can't think of anything we didn't like. For us it was perfect!
everything except the location
a little removed from the city centre
The staff, the gardens, the service, the food - just about everything!
I have nothing negative to say!
We loved this hotel and if we are in Lisbon we would stay again. The Palace, grounds, pools, and breakfast were all wonderful. The staff went out of their way to find my iphone, which I left on the airplane.
The property was beautiful. Excellent service. And wonderful breakfast.
Couldn't stay longer.
Tudo estava ótimo.
This is a beautiful former "palace" that has been beautifully maintained. the buildings, the grounds, the common room and the guest rooms are all elegant but comfortable. The staff was the most attentive we have ever experienced.
It is comfortably removed from the center of town but requires an inexpensive cab ride to most tourist attractions.
Probably best hotel I stayed in. Superb garden/pool/breakfast/personnel/clean. Taxi 7 mn to citycenter (6euro). 3 mn walk to boulevard. Car park under hotel.
Nothing but the price
Superb hotel, beautiful facilities, especially the garden, friendly staff. I can only recommend it. You can reach the congress center by walking in 10 minutes. If you want to visit the town you need a taxi, but these are comparably cheap in Lisbon.
The beginning of the trip was largely disorganized, as the hotel was overbooked (in fact, unbelievable for a hotel of this standard). They tried to cancel my reservation made via booking.com and wanted to give the room to someone else who had reserved later than me. This happened only two days before arrival which I regard as impossible! Hard discussions were necessary to keep the room (which finally turned out to be an upgrade).
Luxurious and historic and friendly
