Magic location. Very comfortable room, did request a corner room with a view of the river and it was truly unbelievable., Great size, wonderful outlook... The lights of the port tasting area and monastery on the hill. Enjoyed the relaxing sounds of the river...boats, seagulls etc. a true escape location. Very convenient ...could walk everywhere. Would definitely stay there again. Arrived at checkin time 3pm by car to discover there was no road access. Had to get dropped off in rain and run down to hotel to discover there is no public car access between 11am and 5.30pm due to hotel being on a World Heritage Site. Parked car in nearby car park and then at 5.30pm drove down to drop off luggage. Would have been so much easier to know facts before hand......maybe include this info with confirmation details.

The hotel was lovely. Splendid room, nice breafkast. Location absolutely lovely. Staff very friendly. Only one small thing: in the bathroom we never got a tube with body lotion, which is, we think, but very normal in a hotel of this quality. The rest is magnificence.

We loved the location on the River Douro and the view of the old port cellars on the opposite river bank. The hotel was very relaxed but efficient with extremely helpful staff. The picturesque location was very convenient for all the local delightful restaurants, accessing tour buses just around the corner, the other side of the river on foot, the cable car which swings above the port cellars, the river boat cruises and finally, the funicular railway to take you up a steep hill to the higher part of the city. Port tasting at Crofts was well worth the walk up the hill as was Taylors Port where we discovered a restaurant too which would be a scenic stop for lunch on a warm day.

The hotel was excellent, ideally located in the heart of the old city with charm as you would expect of this hotel's calibre. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were even given a complimentary glass of port each on our arrival. Whilst not the cheapest hotel in the area it represented great value for money for its quality of facilities, breakfast and service. Would recommend to others Not really meant to be a criticism but the hotel did not provide an evening meal option; this may because of the time of year we stayed there!

Amazing location, right on the river, with bars and resturants right there. Short stroll to the main square. Staff very very friendly and helpful. Was clean and spacious. Didn't get the room with the river view, but in hindsight might have been worth the few extra €'s to do it.

Well located hotel just by the riverside. Interesting development of a series of old houses make it a distinctive property. Close to a number of restaurants. Service was friendly and efficient. Romm was large and well equipped if a little characterless. Breakfast was adequate but repetitive.

Relatively small hotel in excellent location at riverside in Porto World Heritage area with adjacent tourist restaurants and within easy reach of shops & historical sites. Some may find absence of hotel restaurant (except spaceous breakfast room) and time-limited vehicle access to hotel a disadvantage.

My partner and me stayed in this hotel for four nights in early September. We had chosen the hotel mainly for its location right beside the Douro river in the old Ribera quarter and we were not disappointed. We had booked a room with river view which is really worth the extra money as it gives magnificent views. The fit out and design of the rooms is very pleasant, all worked perfectly and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good, in a very nice breakfast room. The neighbourhood is very nice and original and although it is quite lively during the day and in the evenings our room was quiet and allowed for a good night sleep. Highly recommended and we would definitely stay in this hotel again. The only thing that we didn't like was the price - they do charge for that river view.

This hotel has the best location possible if you want to visit Porto as a tourist, Not much in the way of facilities but who needs those when you step out the entrance and are right on the quayside.

The location was great for a quick visit to Porto Parking should not be an extra charge. There should be wireless available at no cost. A hotel of this price point should not be charging for this.

The only thing that was wrong was that the shower fitting was not the correct one for that shower so it kept on slipping from the setting that I wanted it at.
