Quiet. Close to beach, restaurants with car. Reasonable play area for young children.

Two single beds rather than a double bed.

Needs comfortable seating arrangments in hotel foyer plus drinks machine for water etc. Needs new tube and shower head in bathroom. If these were improved you would save on wet towels. Noisy air con units going all night. Dining room too crowded at meal times

everything was ok except a noisy sound in the night, a sound from a neighbouring ac or a generator, not too loud but still a bit uncomfortable.

The staff couldn't be nicer and the location couldn't be better. It's the perfect place to "get away from it all" with its quiet, country setting and charming allure. The breakfast buffet was copious and a great way to start each day. The times we tried the evening buffet, the food was certainly good and the portions ample. The wait staff, both breakfast and dinner, were always friendly and smiling, which made for a nice atmosphere. If one wants to sightsee in the Algarve, a car is necessary. The fact that the hotel provides free, secure parking was a big plus. Easy access to the major roadways (5 minutes away) made visits to all the major towns, villages, golf courses and beaches in the Algarve (plus the airport) a breeze. Thanks to its staff, Hotel Pinhal do Dol is one of those little jewels you'd like to keep a secret for fear that once word gets out there'll be no room left at the inn!

Towels & bed linen might have been changed more regularly - especially for long-term guests, as we were. Mosquitoes were also a problem at night. Perhaps mosquito-netting over the beds could be added to the rooms in addition to the electric, anti-mosquito tablets already provided. It's a shame to have to close doors and windows when the night air is so fresh and balmy. All minor irritants, however. It's hard not to like Pinhal do Sol.
