Our stay was spoiled by the miserable unsmiling face of the receptionist and when I pointed out to her that her job was to welcome people her reply was a sullen faced "Sorry" May I suggest that a person with her attitude to the customer should not be in a front line position. You can put up as many welcome signs as you like but if the staff don't reflect it you are wasting your time. |

The hotel is in the centre of Tavira, but at the top of a hill if you are elderly, if your young, middle aged and fit that will not be a problem. The reception area and sitting areas around the reception are presentable and kept spotless. The rooms could do with a bit of T.L.C. but are spotlessly cleaned everyday. The pools are great and breakfast is excellent. Good all round hotel. |

Very central, but still outside the town. Perfect breakfast included. Very good. Evertything just fine, exept the very strong noice from some heatpumps. Also the madrasses were to hard. Try to get a room at the westside of the hotel. The poor girl serving us nicely at the roof bar, had to get everyting from the 1. floor. Very inefficient. |

This hotel is basic but efficient in the main part, It reflected the cost of a stay appropriately on balance, but some things were not in place or consistant see below, however, lovely staff. With a little attension to detail the hotel would transform itself re maintainance issues For anyone disabled it would be a fair hike from the town and a much longer one from the boat to the beach, but for geting fit this was good for me. I chose to go to the hotel for rehabilitaion after surgery and for this expected the advertised fully opperational spa facilities. This is the one area where it is clearly lacking ie steam room has not worked for considerable time, sauna is not on when you expect it to be, which would be fine if a booking system opperated, but it did not and nobody knew how to turn the Jacuzi facility on, particularly at end of day after exhausting days out when I needed it to work this was very disapointing. |

Cleanliness of the hotel. Location. Freindly staff. Not very sound proof. Room doors very echoing on closure. The whole hotel echos thoughtout which can be quite disturbing at night. |

The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The location close to town centre is good. External pool is nice albeit unheated. Maintenance is lacking, especially in bathroom i.e. bottom of door was tattered and damaged, bath seal was black and missing in some places. |

The pool was a good size and at this time of year was nice and quiet. Ants in our 1st room so i requested a change. No apology from the hotel for this. Bathrooms were not clean. Could do with changing the filthy carpets. |

As we enjoyed a lot our holiday at your hotel we found out that would be better to keep on a few days more. There was a great hotel service, rooms looked fresh and clean, smiley and sympathetic staff ***** Thankyou |

Big room, near city center. Nice terrace view. Maintenance: faulty window lock on the ground floor and broken hairdryer. No smoking rooms that smelt of smoke. Noisy corridors. Room Safe is oldfashioned (needs a key), small and costs extra. |

The hotel is just a short walk (up a hill) from the centre of a very nice, small town. The staff were friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool is very nice, and was quiet in mid June. The rooms were comfortably sized and well air-conditioned. The top floor bar is a tad pricey for the Algarve, but still reasonable, and has fantastic night-time views. The walls of the hotel are quite thin, so you need to be lucky and not have noisy neighbours. The sound of slamming doors also travels down the corridors. The beds could have been more comfortable (although we still slept well), and there were few rooms with double beds available. |

It is ideally located for access to the road network but the walk into Tavira is short and pleasant. The area arround the hotel is pleasant and quiet. The air con is poor. The bed in room 312 could be best described as like a rock and the pillows were lumpy..There was no facilities to make tea or coffee and this was a dissapointment. No iron or board and not even a welcome pack telling you of the services or tv channels, I could not even get bbc World. All in all a poor show. Its not surprising that its up for sale. |

Tavira..is great place to relax.Cause city itself isn't big, Location of most hotels in Tavira is fair. But, above all, compare with costs, Porta Nova was good place to enjoy Tavira. |

Ideally located in the centre of Tavira, the design of this hotel is based on Arabic style elements, making it an eye-catching retreat from everyday life. |
Recommended by Alastair Sawday's Special Places to Stay, this restored rural farmhouse is perched on a hilltop, and boasts sweeping views of the coastline. |
Casa Viana is located in the most beautiful natural protected area of the Algarve - the Ria Formosa. Come and enjoy the ambiance and peaceful surroundings, and admire the great landscapes. |
Pedras d'el Rei is located in the heart of Ria Formosa Natural Park, 1km from the Beach Barril. The apartments have a regional style and are surrounded by magnificent green areas and gardens. |
