Great location, beautiful gardens and public rooms

Room size rather small

The building and location was stunning

The rooms were badly furnished. Only double beds available in original building. No twins or king size beds. Bathrooms poor very basic. Food in restaurant poor. Breakfast buffet fine. Very poor value for money.

It is fascinating and attractive, it is better to stay at Pousada hotels rather than accustomed ones.It is like a museum, I am impressed with the hotel.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, food in the restaurant a delight, wine waiter knowledgeable and helpful. Felt really treasured.

What is there not to like? Maybe faster internet if I am being picky but what was there did work OK in the public areas.

I do recomend dining at the hotel and try the different "rices" (arroz de pato and arroz de cabrito)

Everything. The staff was most accomodating. I have traveled the world and the Pousada is one of the most unique and beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The antiques and original architectural embellishmnets including the tiles were fabulous. The restaurant was world class and we dined there both nights of our visit. The food was great as was the selections. I would reommend the Pousada to anyone wanting to visit Portugal and your area.

I t was a beautiful building and surroundings. It used to be a monastary and had the original features. I t really felt like a bit of luxury with the staff being friendly and helpful.

The building and gardens were amazing.

The restaurant prices were too high. The food is good, but other places in town offered food that was just as good at 2/3 the price. The push to book a reservation the first night felt like a scam since there weren't many people in the restaurant. If we're going to pay 50% more for our dinner then it better be amazing.

An exceptional place to stay with beautiful antique furnishings and landscaped gardens. The swimming pool overlooking the town was an additional feature which we also appreciated.

Staff at reception could have been more helpful/ knowledgeable about transport to other towns nearby.

Breakfast bed and bathroom garden

It was very uninspected to see insects in the room and bathroom. I think the hotel have to take care about this.

Stunning building, in lovely gardens, on a hill overlooking the town. A historic monastery successfully turned into a luxury hotel. Very helpful and professional and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. I asked for a bathroom with disabled facilities and this was provided. No freestanding shower, but the shower over the bath had good support rails, and a 'telephone" shower as well as a fixed but flexible overhead shower head. Hotel very good at arranging tours - a local tour company owned by the very urbane and charming Fernando Sousa and his wife Fatima. Fernando speaks English and French and provided excellent transport and guiding to the port wineries in the Douro Valley - or, I'm sure, anywhere else you might want to go.

Because the Pousada is a little out of the town, up a steep, cobbled road,you need your own transport or the taxis available through the hotel. A 5 euro ride into the centre. WiFi works in the public areas, but not in the rooms.

The building is lovely and well-maintained. A perfect site above the historic city of Guimarães.

The church should be opened for visitors, since it is attached to the building.

Alles. De sfeer van klooster behouden en toch luxe. Luxe voor de prijs van een driesterren hotel (55+ aanbieding). Kamer niet zo luxe maar heel sfeervol, kloostercellen herkenbaar, prachtige ervaring. Wandelen en verpozen door de lange gang en zalen en grote kloostertuin. Geweldig ontbijtbuffet.

Afstand naar stadje, maar wel te doen, evt kun je met auto afdalen.

Deveria ter reservado pelo menos 2 dias e não 1. Hotel lindo, adaptação do convento à hotel impecável. Com exceção a um funcionário que poderia ter sido mais cuidadoso ao nos dar informações sobre a cidade, acesso e estacionamento, todo o resto, impecável. As pousadas em Portugal não mostram classificação, esta com certeza é pelo menos 5 estrelas. Jante no hotel !!!

Além do funcionário já citado, nada de negativo a comentar.
