The Quality Inn Poetus Cale is a clean and comfortable hotel and, very friendly. Metro Casa da Musica is about a 5/10 minute walk away, giving access to the centre of the city (5/10 minutes) and direct to the Airport (25mins) at a cost of €1.50ish..Taxi €25 plus !! There are Restaurants and shopping in the area and within a 10 minute walk. THe Casa da Musica is a MUST for music lovers and so too is its restaurant on the top floor..superb food, service and price. Did not have breakfast at the hotel, which is €8, but if you only want a coffee and croissant there are a couple of restaurants/cafes within seconds either side of the hotel when you will only pay 2 or 3€ ! In all,I would recommend this hotel . I would like to thank in particular Joao and the young lady (evening/night) on reception for their kind assistance and help throughout our stay. Only one small gripe. The hotel charges €5 for the use of Wifi ! It is not the money but the principal..in the year 2012 when everyone uses Wifi and the hotel HAS to have it..why charge guests ? It does not cost the hotel any extra for guests to use it,so to me its just a way of getting 'extra' from the clients.

The breakfast was pretty good. The location was convenient and one of night staff was very professional and helpful. Parking was terrible. The family room was too crowded and overpriced. Only one side of the room had outlets. The bathroom was too small, the toilet dispenser was too close to the camode, tub was old with chipped plaster, bidet why, and it dirty and I informed staff and it still was not cleaned properly. I will never stay there again.

Large rooms, very quiet, nice location, bus stop in front of the hotel that goes directly to the center or the beach. No sufficient light in the room, old furniture, cold staff.

A large bedroom and friendly staff. Very quick check in and out. The breakfast was very poor. It didn't even include espresso, which is sort of odd in Portugal, specially when you pay 8 euros for a breakfast which isn't worth a dime. The internet connection is also not included in the price of the stay.

We had a quiet room facing the back side (the main avenue seems noisy), with tea and coffee facilities refreshed each day. We had to pay in advance for reserving the underground private parking, which was convenient and not too expensive, but during the night it may be possible to find parking places around the hotel for free. The access into the underground parking is rather difficult (very narrow corridor); too far to walk to the old centre, but there is public transport nearby and the taxi prices are very reasonable; old-fashioned tv set; the plug in the bathroom didn't work.

Great Location (5 to 10 minutes to the subway and bus stop at the front door); Nice clean looking hotel; Quiet location with no security issues. The Air conditioning worked, but not the remote control. Room we stayed in had some noise due to the outside vents (but nothing special).

It's a good hotel, that offers good value for money. The location is very pleasant, near OPorto's 'Casa da Música' and Rotunda da Boavista - one of the largest avenues in Porto. Staff is very nice, the hotel rooms are well care and modern. Wifi access should be free, since it doesn't make sense to charge for Internet access in these days. WiFi access is not free. Parking is very confusing and almost no parking space for larger cars. Parking space is too short and difficult a lot the parking maneuvers. This is for me the biggest downsize of this hotel. Surprisingly it's fairly simple to find parking space near the hotel.

Overall the Hotel is really nice. The location is convenient as it is near to local shops, restaurants, cafes and bakeries, a big supermarket, and the public transport. The bus-stop (buses that can take you to city centre) is right in front of the hotel. The Metro (Casa de Musica stop) is 5-7 minutes walk away. You can take the taxi back to the hotel if you're tired - taxis are not expensive in Porto. The reception staffs are really friendly and helpful; they can speak good english. My double room was large, brightly lighted, cleaned daily and kept neat. The tv has many main/popular channels with english-programmes (not dubbed!). I don't have much complaints. The bedroom walls are thin. You can hear sounds from the corridors ~ if doors were opened/closed, guests voices, and the water plumbing from next room. It's not too bad since I will put my tv volume loud to block the sounds out! The hotel's 2 lifts/elevators are small - each can fit 2 persons with big luggages only. You have to pay for the wireless internet (Euro 5 per day).

Everything. Including spacious rooms and tea coffee making facilities in the room. Excellent. Breakfast should be included in room rate. However, cafe beside hotel offer excellent breakfast, although a bit pricey compared to normal cafes. There are fliers in the hotel about Bar des Artistes in casa de la musica. Dont go there for food, not even a dog could eat that food. the hotel should remove these fliers as the place does not meet sufficient standards.
