The place is simply fantastic, very romantic and calm. We stayed at the Lake House, it is a wonderful little house in the middle of a nice park. Very calm, very clean, equipped with a kitchen. Enjoyed it! The hotel has serious problems with tap water. The pressure is low and the water is cold. This needs to be solved asap. Also, the Lake House need some additional heating. The only heater it has is not enough for the cold season. |

The manor was very picturesque, nothing very fancy but for me it was just great. The surroundings and the house itself make the stay very enjoyable. The staff was great, all very friendly. You have to remember that this is not an hotel, so don't expect the amenities of an hotel, but for people that want to experience real Sintra, this guest house is just great. During the summer they also have a swimming pool and some nice gardens to enjoy. I would most definitively come back again! The heaters were not working very well, but they said that were going to get new ones, and no shampoo or any of that kind of supplies, but maybe that's normal in guest houses....i must admit it was my first stay at a place like this. None of the small problems found did in any way diminish my enjoyment for the stay. |

Great localisation, great breakfast. Bien situé, bon petit-déjeuner. Very old, very cold in the room, plumbing was noisy. C'était très vieux, nous avons gelé toute la nuit et vraiment pas bien dormi, la tuyauterie était bruyante. |

It is a very nice old hotel, which has kept many old furnitures in a good shape and combined them with modern items and refurbisment solutions. It has a very special atmosphere. |

We were given an apartment instead of a single room for the same price. This was very good with internet access and a good breakfast. The guest house was about 30 minutes from the town. Going down was ok but coming uphill took a while as it was very steep. |

I really liked my stay at the Quinta Das Murtas.Although it's a 15 minute walk uphill from the train station at Sintra,it is in a lovely location. The breakfast is excellent, with lots of fresh fruit, yogurt coffee etc.The staff were really helpful, and provided lots of information about what to see and do while staying in Sintra. |

I liked the location, view and the pretty, quaint feel about the hotel. The staff, although not all spoke much English, were very obliging, friendly and eager to help. The room itself wasn't especially well ventilated so did feel a little bit damp, but was very clean and well equipped although a little bit "rough around the edges" which did partly add to its charm! |

It has a nice ambiente there, the breakfast is okay, also the location. We had one of the two rooms in the garden downstairs and not in the main building. The room there was very humid and there was a musty smell. It was not really clean. |

The rooms were large and clean; beautiful setting; not more than a 10 minute walk from the downtown (though uphill). Good breakfast. Computers available for free with internet access. |

Nice little Quintas a little bit up the hill but within walking distance of Sintra City - where everything is a little up the hill. Friendly staff! They gave good recomendations which of the palaces you definitely need to see - Regaljera, by the way! :-) Good breakfast in great atmosphere! |

Great location and friendly staff. The hotel has the feel of Sintra in its bones...Breakfast was outstanding including the harp that was played while we ate! The hotel needs some fixing up -- everything was pretty worn and run down with several things not working quite right -- i.e. shower doors didn't close, several lights didn't work...nothing horrible -- but not great either. Also pretty loud in the morning as people arise and breakfast is served. |

The historical residence is very nice, however ask for a room in the main building because the rooms in the garden are humid. |

We really liked open space and nature. Very soothing. The hotel staff was very nice. The room was very moldy--too much humidity i guess. I strongly recommend that they will install fans and dehumidifiers. |

The old manor house is attractive, both inside and outside. Staff are very helpful. It's great to have a kitchen, esp. because we have kids. The dining charis are a bit old. Two of them have pieces fallen out when we sit on them. |

Breakfast was fresh and offered variety of products including no sugar products. Shower was very poor, water takes long to warm up, one of the rooms we had the water was not hot at all. We also had problems with one of the doors which was not locking properly and needed a hammer to fix it. We booked to rooms double and ended up in a twin room as theer was an oversight by the hotel. The hotel is located in a area that offers very little place to park, it has space for 3 cars in the premises. Outside it is not possible to park more than 3 cars to park with the inconvenience that you need to park in the bottom of a hill by a bend. |

The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Convenient location for accessing Moorish Castle and Pena Palace on foot if you don't mind steep walks. |
