The rooms were a good size, nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed and lovely outlook. Great pool area with lots of furniture. It was a very quiet rural area, perfect to get a good nights sleep and breakfast was very good

No Internet or tv in rooms, had to use common area which was very comfortable and not a problem as I was the only guest, but not good when they are busy I think.

We were greeted by a lovely friendly woman who wanted us to see all the wonderful assets of this accommodation.Everything was so pleasant and welcoming.Breakfast the next morning was just right with the offer of eggs which is great for English speaking people! If we ever return to Portugal we will look for this type of accomodation-perfect!

We loved everything.

We enjoyed the ambience of this home. It is a real gem if you are interested in historic houses. We did not stay in the summer so could not enjoy the out door pool that looks great. But we had a lovely log fire to sit near in a beautifully decorated room full of antiques. Friendly hostess and good breakfast in fascinating surroundings.

What an amazing place. Loved the relaxing environment and unique architectural details. Delicious lunch at the restaurant. We enjoyed meeting the owners. The grounds are very pretty. How often does a peacock stroll by the window while you are eating lunch?

The paper plant nearby spews out enough smoke to have a notable impact on the overall environment.

Excellent setting - 300-year old building with plenty of antiques. Nice staff.

Some more choice for breakfast would have been even better, however breakfast was good.

Breathtakingly beautiful place, stunning views. The house and rooms and furniture and decor are like in a dream of past centuries. Absolutely beautiful ! In addition: Many things to discover in the next villages incl. a romantic tiny castle on an island in the river. We also enjoyed a very nice dinner with excellent food in Constancia.

I must say, our stay at the family owned Quinta de Santa Barbara was exquisite. For us, it was a short stop halfway between Marvao and Sintra and it turned out to be a perfect taste of Portugal's countryside. Nice garden with wondering peacocks, superb pool, personalized service, cosy rooms with vaulted brick ceilings all on an old Jesuite estate. The dinner was excellent and served by the owners themselves in an architecturally stunning stone dining room that used serve as a wine cellar. Make a point to stay at this hotel, you will not be disappointed!

It was like staying in a museum. Food was excellent.

On the outside it needed a little painting job.

Restoration and renovation of building - especially inside and rooms - could be more authentic and little less 'kitch'

Very quiet and calm place to stay. The view is great. The Hotel staff are really nice. A place full of history.

A wonderful stay at this hotel. We had booked it quite randomly to visit Tomar from. This place was a great surprise, a paradise. The place in itself is beautiful, an old quinta with charming decoration. Swimming pool area very nice, surrounded by nature Great breakfast (fresh juices, eggs prepared on demand ...) We also had a lovely dinner at the quinta restaurant I would definitely like going back there.

Everything was perfect which resulted in a wonderful stay. Could not imagine anything differently

The buidling is very old and therefore not always likely. There were running a lot of little ants on the wouden floor of our bedroom and in the entrance hall. They enjoyed traveling in our baggage afterwards.

Beautiful room, garden, great food, and exceptional staff! So pleased with our stay. I will go back!

The building and restaurant were most interesting. We had our own Chapel en-suite. Nice Pool area. Manuel the owner was charming and helpful.The location totally peaceful yet close to motorway.

The steep steps up to the rooms.Very difficult for people with mobility problems.

De Quinta was vroeger een klooster. Prachtig. Zeer verzorgd. Onze kamer had een wijds uitzicht over de vallei en het zwembad. Leuk ontbijtbuffet in 1 van de mooie ruimtes. Zeer sfeervol restaurant. Goede keuken. Enorm vriendelijk personeel. Zonder twijfel een aanrader. Hier kom je echt tot rust.

Het hotel heeft 7 kamers. Daardoor is het restaurant alleen in het weekend open. In Constancia -op 5 minuten rijden van het hotel-, zijn er 2 goede restaurants
