Quinta do Caracol  

A very unusual place to stay - peaceful gardens, friendly staff and very good breakfasts. The freshly squeezed orange juice (from trees in the garden) was amazing and fresh eggs from the hens were good too. The location was good - easy to get out and about by train and only a short walk to the centre.

Our appartment had not been modernised so there was an old shower. The outside doors had gaps round them so it was cold unless we had the heating on at a high level. The lighting wasn't really good enough for reading. We were shown round two other appartments which had been renovated and they seemed much more comfortable. When making our reservation we did not look at your website for a range of options (see below). We got to it from a link from the Quinta do Caracol website when trying to book directly with them.

Quiet garden suroundings, lots of places to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. Wonderful freshly sqeezed orange juice for breakfast.

Lack of BBC or Sky chanels

The gardens were very nice and did a good job of screening the surrounding roads and encroaching buildings, giving it the feeling of an oasis. The breakfast was simple but delicious with real fresh squeezed orange juice and some of the best "pasteis de nata" that I have tried (as good as the originals in Belem). The room was simple, following the traditional architecture of the region, but very clean. Pleasant employees and owner. Overall a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

It was mentioned to us that remodeling efforts are ongoing. Unfortunately they hadn't yet gotten to our room (Aurocária), which means that the bathroom is a bit run down. Also the mattresses were a bit squeaky and probably should be replaced.

This old farmhouse and buildings which has been converted into individual studio rooms and apartments is fabulous, an oasis on the edge of Tavira. This is not a hotel, it is a B&B with a difference. beautiful gardens, rustic rooms, plenty of space in the garden for guest to find a quiet spot to sunbathe or read a book. a small pool that does its job ( cools you down) you cannot do lengths in it!. Dont be put off if you read any negative remarks about quinta do caracol, if you want traditional accommodation, and a base for the area, this fits the bill. 9.5 out of 10. it loses 0.5 because it is surrounded by drab buildings but you cannot see them, its so beautiful inside you would'nt notice anyway.

Grande chambre indépendante (2 entrées) et de bon confort avec coin cuisine et salle de douche avec WC. Joli jardin. Très bon petit déjeuner dans une salle dans le jardin. Parking gratuit.

Do local, atendimento, da casa antiga e recuperada enfim, de tudo!

Lage sehr gut, sehr schöner Garten und Anlage.

Preis für Hochsaison von EURO 140.-- überteuert, ein angemessener Preis wäre ca. EURO 100.--. Die Anlage ist zwar schön, jedoch veraltet (z.B. kein Internet). Sanitäre Anlagen sollten auch mal ersetzt werden.

El jardín.

Mi peor experiencia en cuanto al confort de una cama. El colchón estaba totalmente deformado, con todos los muelles fuera. La primera noche la pasé totalmente en vela porque la cama era un método de tortura de la Santa Inquisición por lo menos. Al día siguiente me quejé y me lo cambiarona, pero no me han hecho ningún descuento por este incidente, ni siquiera han tenido el detalle de no combrarme un café que tomé en el bar (1,5 €). Creo que no saben tratar al cliente.

L'appartamento è una bomboniera, rustico ma con gusto. Gli spazi comuni sono piccoli prati molto ben curati, una piccola piscina centrale. Tutto molto gradevole e riservato.

Locatie is kleinschalig (7 app) in portugese landelijke stijl.Ligt vlakbij het station en heeft een prachtige tuin. Alles is met zorg en oog voor detail ingericht. We hebben er heerlijk gerelaxt in de tuin en in het zwembad (prima qua grootte). Het huisje (slaapkamer, woonkamer incl keuken en badkamer) is schattig. Het bed wat klein maar de slaapkamer is heerlijk donker. We konden dus goed uitslapen en vlak voor half elf van een heerlijk ontbijt genieten.

Naar het centrum van Tavira is het zeker 10 minuten lopen (geen naar stukje).
