There is a 24-hour reception service and English, German and French speaking staff, plus an art gallery, library, and garden tour. At an additional charge make use of the rent-a-car and laundry service.
Next to the heated outdoor pool you can use our health centre free of charge including gym, sauna, steambath, jacuzzi, billiards and table tennis.
Furthermore, our 5-star 1400m² Spa and Wellness Area offers an oasis of suites and luxury facilities. Enjoy the indoor pool, a Finnish sauna, an ice pool, a heated stone bed relaxation zone, a cardiovascular fitness and weight station, and a Turkish steam sauna. There is also a Far Eastern-style mud bath, an igloo with an ice fountain, and 10 treatment rooms with an extensive treatment list. Children under 16 are not allowed in the Spa.
The gourmet restaurant, La Perla, is located in the manor house and has recently been distinguished as one of the best restaurants in Portugal by the Portuguese Academy of Gastronomy. Dinner is served from 19.00 until 22.00.
The restaurant Galeria offers a generous breakfast buffet and Italian and Portuguese specialties. The extensive buffet is served daily from 07.00 until 10.30. Lunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00 until 14.30, and dinner daily from 18.30 until 22.00.
The Thai Lounge will complement the holistic well-being that will be offered by the brand new Spa and Wellness facility. Here, dinner is served from 18.30 until 22.00.
The Siddartha bar is near the pool and serves a range of health food, salads, pasta dishes and a variety of drinks, coffee, tea, juices, shakes and smoothies. The bar usually opens from 10.00 until 19.00, but this may change in winter.
The Globe cocktail bar at the upper end of the pool offers an extensive drinks menu with regular live music, folklore, Fado evenings and entertainment during the week. The opening hours are usually from 19:00 until 24:00.
The resort offers 5 different accommodation types: standard twin rooms, studios, and one or 2 bedroom apartments and 25 modern, luxury, new spacious 85 - 115 m² suites.
All apartments and studios offer a kitchenette and private facilities, plus a balcony or patio terrace with either sea or garden views.
The luxury spacious open plan 85 - 115 m² suites have sea views and complimentary access to the SPA facilities.
Extra beds for adults are available in the apartments (for prices see room description). Extra beds or cots are not possible in Twin Rooms. Children are not allowed in the SPA suites. No extra beds in the suites.
For a game of golf, the courses Palheiro Ferreiro (18 hole) and Santo da Serra (27 hole) have special prices and free transport for the hotel’s guests. Alternatively you can horse-ride.
Other potential activities include walking, trekking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, para-sailing, jet-skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, big game fishing, plus dolphin and whale watching.
Funchal (15km) - Visit the capital of the island and explore it on foot to find shops, a harbour and many places to eat and drink.

The garden is truly amazing. I also loved the location right in the middle of a real village. Shopping, restaurants and cafés are all available without the need for a trip to Funchal. As others have said, the room really needed refurbishment. Oh well, I guess that is why the price I got was such a bargain in the first place. |

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They all spoke English, French and German. The botanical garden was absolutely lovely. It also felt as if there was almost no one around. It was great we could book trips to visit the island directly at the hotel and didn't have to look for anything individually, they were well worth it! For me, the drinks were too strong, especially if one was spending the day with kids by the swimming pool. And the water in the swimmng pool was extremely cold. The menu in the restaurants didn't appeal to me, as I would expect something local and lighter instead of Thai or Italian food. I would also expect the rooms to be refurbished soon as although they were clean and comfortable, furniture and deco was quite old. |

Very human architecture in harmony with the nature. Very well kept gardens an swimming pool area. Good position for exploring Funchal and the rest of the island. Near Canico centar, with the restaurants and other facilities. Charged parking, and the problems with parking space. Furniture in the appartments is out of date. |

The hotel has a great, wide view over the ocean and a very nice, large garden. The pool area is very pleasant - the place actually has a lot of potential. Both our appartments were uncomfortable, not wellcoming at all: old, outdated, worn-out, unmatched furniture, cold tile floors, very old malfunctioning TV set with only german satelite channels; one of the appartments had an unpleasant, musty smell, as if it had been locked for too long. The beds were far too close to the wide entrance windows, providing little privacy from by-walkers. |

The fact that based on the architecture of the hotel you have the feeling of constantly being in a large botanical garden with great views, no matter where you are on this huge property. The staff is extremely helpful as well. |

L'hotel possède un jardin magnifique et qui offre une belle vue sur la mer. Le Spa et la piscine intérieure sont très agréable La connexion à Internet n'est pas satisfaisante (le Wifi ne fonctionne que dans les bars et encore il y a des problèmes). L'aménagement de la chambre était un peu vieillot. |
