Great views over Funchal. Wonderful terrace for enjoying the dawns and sunsets. Nice swimming pool. Fantastic breakfast, they will also cook an omelette or egg of your choice. The hotel is close to Monte, actually the famous Monte toboggans pass the hotel by. Unfortunately, the service of this 5-star hotel is far from having 5 stars. Too little cleaning staff. Upon check-in be prepared to sign the responsibility paper for the 250 eur worth bang & olufsen tv remote. The tv set itself is quite small, though. The 2 saunas in the health centre were off, the massage shower needed some repair and we even found a big cockroach (!) in the public shower. The swimming pool is open only from 9:00, so no chance to take an early morning swim. The terrace was not very clean. The location is very steep for evening walks and there are no bars/restaurants/shops nearby. |

The friendliness of staff, the location and the deisn of the hotel Although the hotel is classed a 5 star hotel it is lacking tea & coffee making faciltities and most importantly a directory to inform guest of their service and prices. The shuttle only goes at certain days and times and only to Funchal not to the airport. If you not on dinner & bed and breakfast be aware that bread as a supplement usually placed next to your plate costs 7,80 Euros for 2 pax. Also if you order anything in the room it is additional 5 Euros for Room Service and the pool table which looks very inviting in the Business Centre will set you back 5 Euros for an hour. None of these charges aredisplayed anywhere so they tell you either when you have ordered or when you sign the bill. |

The view from the balcony and the swimming pool over the bay is beautiful! Recent and modern hotel (6yo) with all the amenities you expect from it. Nice swimming pool aven though it's a bit too shallow. Breakfast buffet is really nice. Too far out of town. Taxis are ripping you off so you must have a car to drive down to town. No wi fi connection. Only internet access via cable at 5 euros/H.... Rip off! There s only one computer with free access on internet for the whole hotel. Pool table available but again it's just too expensive! 5 euros/h! Avoid the restaurant....not cheap at all....better go to town for some more reasonable prices. No flat screen tv. Disappointing for such a high profile hotel! The woman working at the reception was not friendly at all. |

The view is stunning and the rooms are elegant, comfortable and quiet. In addition, the facilities were excellent. The Quinta is difficult to find and up a very steep hill, I would highly recommend renting a car. |

The view is perfect There was way too little staff, no luggage service, ordering of drinks to the terrace was impossible, they didn't know the difference between Champagne and sparkling wine... Three star service at the most, so the five stars is a bit of a joke, though the room was nice. |

Great location and facilities - would stay there again. Suggest mattress toppers to improve the comfort of the beds as they are too firm. |
