Score from 1250 reviews Very good
Very low price, friendly and helpful staff, good location.
Rooms very basic, room doors not secure, noise levels in public areas, toilets in poor condition, minimalist pillows! Needs an upgrade!
location is great. we chose room with a toilet and shower inside, and it was very comfortable. ceilings were very high so it gave a very spacious feeling. loved everything about the place.
bathroom door made some noise when closing, might wake up neighbour rooms.
door bell is annoying, you hear it each time someone enters the hotel
The staff was helpful. The general area of the "guesthouse" was close to downtown area.
I was in contact with this hotel before we arrived due to having to add an extra night on our reservation (based on previous reviews). We were let down when we arrived. The location is up a very steep hill, and in a questionable area. It was myself, my cousin and my 4 year old daughter. Walking around at night did not feel very welcoming. The Wi-Fi did not work for more than 2 minutes before restarting constantly. The bathroom door (we had a private bathroom) did not shut and had no latch. The shower spout did not hold itself up so you had to wash then rinse. The shower drain did not drain and was clogged, so it flooded the bathroom. The curtain had not been washed in a while and was heavily stained with mildew. There were 2 plugs in the entire room and only one worked. Our room was next to the shared bathroom and the walls are paper thin so we could hear every time someone was going in and out. The lock on our door looked like the room had been broken into and needed a quick lock change. Overall first impression was not a good one. I asked the gentleman on the first night about what we could do (especially with the Wi-Fi because I am a student and also needed the internet to process invoices for my job). He told me that he couldn’t do anything that night, but the next day we could switch rooms. The woman at the desk the next morning made no mention of this. We were woken up at 0830 to banging outside our window, and our room was filled with cigarette smoke. It is stated and posted everywhere that there is no smoking in the rooms. I also woke to 3 huge bug bites on my arm. I was the only one that didn’t sleep with a blanket on me. We ventured out that day and came back. Made no mention of a room change since we were leaving at 0800 the next morning. Went to sleep in the very uncomfortable beds and the next morning we awoke to more cigarette smoke in our room.
staff was very helpfull and friendly, clean room, a little small but it was very ok for the price! Also a couple of minutes walk to the center!
nice room with a good bed, with a nice view from the little balcony.
Location, balcony, price
no toilet in room, the toilet for my room was down the hall.
excellent location, simple but clean rooms and lovely staff! would stay here again, thanks a lot for the warm welcome, the early check-in and calling me a taxi to the airport in the middle of the night!
I've never been in such a old, unclean, creepy hostel! We couldn't close the door of the room, only lock it. The sharing bathroom's door is transparent, so everybody could see inside. It was raining in Lisbon those days n room was quite cold. The best is that it rained inside our room! So all our things got totaly wet and hostel stuff didn't care about it at all. Don't expect you'll be treated as a guest in this place. Really unprofessionall people...
Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Room was clean and big enough. We've asked for two seperate beds and we got it. Location is perfect. 5 minutes walking to Rossio station. A lot of restaurants nearby. It was perfect and we really enjoyed our time in Lisbon and in the hotel.
Bathroom is old, but clean, could use a renovation. Warning in general: our wallet was stolen at the first day in Barrio Alto. Beware of pickpockets!
Like all other comments, convenient it definitely is. Even though it was just the two of us in a triple room (as that was the only one available), the bed we both slept on was big enough and this room could have fitted 2 other singles apart from us. The private shower and toilet was an unexpected plus. The curtains covered the length of the window and allowed us to sleep in slightly later.
We were registered by the chambermaid who wrote very slowly. She was nice, but with my big backpack on my shoulders, I hoped she was quicker, and then she had to also register my husband which took equally long. The towel that was meant for the bathroom floor was removed the next day. The toilet bowl was not sealed to the floor and wobbled.
Good sized bathroom. Close to main attractions. You can find many faults with this establishment but for the price you really can't be too critical. The staff were very helpful and the Residencia did not detract from a wonderful stay in Lisbon.
Bed was somewhat uncomfortable for two.
Super lumpy pillow hard to sleep on. No aircon but you can open windows but mosquitoes come in and bite. Only can pay by cash. Booking. Com didn't mention lack of air con and cash only
We really enjoyed our stay, the staff are friendly and super helpful and the rooms are spotlessly cleaned everyday. The room was spacious enough, simply furnished and comfy. Located a about a ten minute walk either way to most tourist attractions, the airport bus stops in the square just ten minutes away too. We will go back soon hopefully!
Would have preferred to have a mosquito screen on the window but not a huge problem!
Location Big bathroom Nice Staffing You´ll get fresh towels each day Great staffing 24 hrs check-in Opportunity to leave your key of your room at the check-in point
Mattress to soft
Clean rooms and comfortable bath Great wifi in all the hotel Location Nice & cheap restauraurants and snack bars around
Location is good. Close to Rossie and main street. Quiet
1. wi-fi doesn`t work at all 2. Hotel is on a hill, it is not easy for some people to get there
value for money, location, staff, clean rooms, comfortable bed We were happy with our stay, received exactly what we paid for : no more, no less.
small shower, old furniture...
location, staff, price
only cash payment
Great location (be prepared for climbing a few meters hill from the Restauradores metro station, though), cleaned every day and towels changed as well, English channels on the TV, price for the hotel in the centre of Lisbon Old City
No lift in the building, even though the rooms are at second and third floor, staff speaks English poorly
Room was basic but comfortable. Had a separate shower room which was brilliant (top floor, single room). Staff were helpful and friendly although only one could speak English. Having free WiFi in my room was a bonus too
The walls weren't very sound proof so if you are a light sleeper it may be worth considering. Couldn't take your room key out with you so have to ring the bell to get back in.
Good location, staff very helpfull and gentle, not that expensive for one night....
Old, clean ok but you know... A bit noisy at night...
The position and kindness of staff
Old building, no lift,
very old house. for one night in good value for money.
good location, close to city centre; we went by foot in most of locations and in the pub area; free wifi; hot water.
staff was talking only portuguese; no elevator; hard to find.
