The Pestana Porto Hotel is romantically situated along the Douro River, right on the historic Ribeira Square. All guest rooms in this 16th-century building have a spacious bathroom.
Score from 369 reviews Excellent
Set in Porto’s center, Pensão Avenida is just 330 yards from São Bento Train Station and Trindade Metro Station. Thanks to a small number of rooms, it maintains an intimate atmosphere.
Score from 634 reviews Very good
It was very clean and the food was tasty.
Excellent for the airport - lady receptionist in the evening very helpful.
Why is it that the trees are groaning with beautiful fresh oranges yet they would prefer to spend more money on some sugared chemical cocktail? Also the coffee as served was lukewarm mud despite having a proper coffee machine. He finally served me one but wasn't happy doing so.
Location as This is only 5 minutes walk From Airport
This place is clean and quiet and while I wouldn't choose to stay for more than one night it is reasonably comfortable and ideally located for an early flight. There is a fairly good restaurant a little further round into the village. The reception is welcoming and helpful. When on one rare occasion it was raining buckets at 5 a.m. a taxi was easily and quickly got!
A stone throw from the Airport, yet surprisingly quiet. Very friendly staff.
The porto wine in the bar was perfect.
Maybe a shuttle service would nice even though walking takes 10 mins.
The breakfast was slightly disappointing.
Very close to airport - had good breakfast available for very early flights
Not esay to find the way from airport to hotel. Better signage needed.
I deeply value the attitude of the staff, and this was great! Specially the young woman at the reception when I arrived, very professional and helpful, genuinely nice, empathetic, the kind of service you would expect at a 4/5*.
ideal for staying one night before/after travelling, close to the airport (no public transport to/from airport neccessary), the personal is kind, I was even asked if I would like my breakfast before 6am
for two people, the bed was small, but I was alone, so it was perfect. also, for staying longer time, the room was too small, but it was ideal for sleeping just one night before/after travelling; the hotel is situated near airport and with 24h-reception
It's in walking distance to the airport. The bar is open all night, so you can have a (cheap) drink before you fall asleep.
Parking and WiFi
The toilet floor is very cold. Water valves are not friendly. The room was very cold at arrival. Took 2 hours for the air conditioning to warm up the room.
Well locatet at the airport. Only 600 m from the terminal
Very friendly service, the owner offered me a drink when I arrived very late and very tired.
the service, very friendly
room was small,i have stayed there before and i found the standard has droped,
Excellent valuie for money and 10 minutes walk from the airport terminal. Very comfortable with all you need for an airport hotel. Good beakfast, parking etc.
The best thing about this hotel were the staff I arrived very late and the staff was more than happy to help, even to carry my 34kg bag up the stairs Same in the morning, he must've heard me struggling down the stairs and he came running to help right away Only a few minutes walk from the airport entrance
location - great place to stay if you have early morning flight.
Location was great Price was fair Staff was helpful
-Booked a double bed first visit got two singles pushed together, but got a double bed second visit -TV remote didn't work properly on first visit, but second rooms tv remote worked
At least 2 chairs in the room and if possible a little table.
The Courtesy with which we were received. The staff went out of their way to be helpful.
Personal and location
Noise at night outdoors
Close to the Oporto airport though getting to the hotel is a bit of a hassle. It looks easy on google maps but it's recommended to make sure you know how to get there beforehand, especially in the dark. Great reception even though we arrived late. We only stayed for one night, which is recommended for this hotel. Great place to sleep after a flight and explore the country the next day! Will stay again if flying to Oporto.
Breakfast wasn't that great, but we learned that most hotels in Portugal provide this kind of breakfast. Buffet style: white breadrolls with confiture, something that looks like ham and cheese and very sweet croissants. Watery coffee and orange juice from a carton/sirop.
