It was near the railway station

- not far from city - silent neighbour- hood - clean rooms - near railway-st.

- neigh-buildings in poor conditions

Just ten minute walk to Faro centre.

Noise from other guests during the night. No garden or outside place to sit and relax.

Friendly helpful staff,comfortable and clean.Good breakfast and generally relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

Location. Ideal for onward travel as the hotel is 2 minutes walk from the train station. Close to the centre of Faro. Comfort. No complaints from me, the room I had was perfectly adequate. Dining. Excellent buffet breakfast. Value. First class. Superb value for money.

Faro is something of a depressing dump and the Hotel Alfonso 111 is a depressing place to stop. Still - you live and learn and get what you pay for.

MIserable staff (ladies on desk) sour faced, crap room, tiny nothing like picture, opposite hotel is a heroin delelict squat, bad part of town, allyways stink of old urine, alawy felt quite threatened walking about here, do not stay here, brekfast poor, not worth money, nasty part of town, worst hotel in Portugal.

The area surrounding the hotel was derelict and as a lone traveller it was a bit scary. the room was very basic

Location very close to Train & Bus Stations.

Cleaning staff screeching and cackling in the breakfast area whilst quests having breakfast. We had a balcony and asked for a table and chairs to sit out on it but were refused.

Excellent service, staff helped us a lot when we had problems with flight delay. Hotel is quite old, but rooms are tidy and breakfast is good. Hotel location is convenient for public transport - bus from the airport stops less than 1 min away. Taxi to the airport costs ±15eu and bus ticket - only 1,95 eu. And there is a great Chinese restaurant just 3 min away (with fixed price 13 eu for dinner including all meals you want).

Location was good although on first appearances you might have been in Beirut, the buildings opposite were all derelect with no roof and all broken windows

Although there was a huge balcony, there were no chairs or tables thus making the balcony a waste of space. The air conditioning had obviously been doctored as you could not increase the temperature to above 17c. There was a bar in the hotel as advertised, but it was never open.

Room very good. Staff helpful. Location for onward travel ideal. Close enough to town to visit.

Great location to the train station. Kind of a sketchy looking neighbourhood, but less than a 5 minute walk to the center of the city. Room was nice enough. Clean and quiet.

Very good breakfast.

The bed was the hardest we have ever tried sleep on.

Short taxi ride from the Airport, 2 minute walk to the train station and less into town for restaurants and shopping. We chose Afonso 111 because it was a smaller and more old fashioned hotel with more local character. Our room was quite small and in need of some refurbishment but very quiet, perfectly clean, and comfortable for an overnight stay. Reception staff - were efficient and really helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions.

Breafast was pretty basic - no fresh fruit/juice.

No pretensions, you get what you pay for. Convenient for walking into town, which was far more interesting than I expected.

Just the run down local area and graffiti, but not much they can do about that, felt quite safe though.

Close to the train station

The foyer and dining area up to the stairwell smelt like a sewer. Was not very pleasant.

Quiet locasion,near to trainstation and bus terminal,friendly and helpfull staff.

The staff were always polite and friendly.

My room, number 9, was like a cave. On the ground floor with a window at street level which meant that people walking by could (and did!) look directly in. Because of this I had the curtains drawn for most of the time making my already small and dark room feel like a cave.

Very small room. Old style. Wifi is not free.
